Joyeuse spent the whole day being nice to Futhark, freaking everyone out, especially Edward. Nobody knows what's happening and everyone is both worried and scared for Futhark.
That night...
Joyeuse: (is chilling in the balcony, watching the night sky)
Joyeuse: (is actually hatching a new plan)
Futhark: (knocks on the balcony door) Jo?
Joyeuse: (puts the nice person mask on) (smiles) Yes, Futhark?
Futhark: (joins him in the balcony and leans on the railings) It's okay, hindi mo na kailangang magpanggap na mabait. Wala nang ibang tao.
Joyeuse: (instantly frowns and stretches his lips) My face is beginning to cramp from smiling too much.
Futhark: (laughs) Iba talaga ang ngiti mong pamplastik at 'yong natural mong ngiti na parang laging nanghuhusga ng pagkatao... Iba rin 'yong ngiti mo na either may masamang balak o may masamang ginawa.
Joyeuse: (chuckles) You know me so well.
Futhark: Here's your phone back.
Joyeuse: Keep it.
Futhark: I don't need to keep it. Nanloloko ka lang naman kanina at wala talagang mga dating app dito.
Joyeuse: No, keep it because it's your phone.
Futhark: What—
Joyeuse: I changed our phone cases and inserted my sim card in yours.
Futhark:
Joyeuse: You should really check your belongings.
Futhark: (counts from one to ten) (takes a deep breath)
Futhark: (fakes a smile) Sorry ha, busy kasi ako sa gawaing bahay at sa mga online classes kaya hindi ko na napapansin 'yong mga gamit ko.
Joyeuse: (raises eyebrows in realisation)
Joyeuse: Oh, right... You're too busy taking care of us.
Futhark: That's why I'd appreciate it kung hindi mo ako pagti-trip-an.
Joyeuse: (quietly nods)
Futhark: Pero, haha, kahit fake ay natuwa ako na ang bait mo sa 'kin ngayong araw. I could get used to it. (smiles to himself and stares at the stars)
Joyeuse: (stares at Futhark)
Joyeuse: ...I see.
Futhark: Kahit maging salbahe ka na ulit sa 'kin, okay lang. Doon na ako mas nasanay, e. 'Wag mo lang itatapon 'yong mga reports at assignments ko.
Joyeuse: (looks up at the sky) Mm-hmm...
The two stays still for a while, staring at the night sky.
Joyeuse: So. You and Alice.
Futhark: Hm?
Joyeuse: Any... Any developments?
Futhark: (laughs inwardly) Hindi ko alam. Siguro aasa na lang ako habang-buhay? Wala lang. I don't see myself being in a relationship.
Joyeuse: Why not?
Futhark: I'm too busy to be in one. Kung magkaka-girlfriend ako ay hindi ko rin s'ya mabibigyan ng atensyon, so baka mag-break lang din kami.
Joyeuse: Huh.
Futhark: (sighs) Tingin ko nakatadhana na na kayo ang makakasama ko habang-buhay.
Joyeuse: Edward has future plans for himself and Macey.
Futhark: (chuckles) Meron nga si Edward.
Joyeuse: I was planning to live with them but if you don't have a plan for the future, I could li... (trails off)
Futhark: (waits for him to finish) You could what?
Joyeuse: Nothing.
Futhark: Oh.
Joyeuse: (looks up at the sky again)
Futhark: Hindi ka ba nilalamig?
Joyeuse: What kind of weakling do you think I am?
Futhark: Kasi kung nilalamig ka na, papasok na tayo.
Joyeuse: No I'm still enjoying the view.
Futhark: (touches Joyeuse's arm) Ang lamig na ng braso mo.
Joyeuse: Yes, but I'm not cold.
Futhark: (touches both of Joyeuse's arms) Sigurado ka?
Joyeuse: I—
Joyeuse: Maybe a little cold.
Futhark: Oh pumasok na tayo.
Joyeuse: I'm kidding, I'm not cold.
Futhark: (removes his hands and leans on the railings again) (looks at the night sky and hums)
Joyeuse: (stares at Futhark)
Joyeuse: Your voice, when you hum...
Futhark: Hmm?
Joyeuse: Your voice. When you hum. It's a cool shade of blue that dances with the evening breeze.
Futhark: Oh, thanks.
Joyeuse: I could watch it all night.
Futhark: (furrows brows) Ano?
Joyeuse: Nothing.
Futhark: Okay?
Joyeuse: (kicks Futhark's knee and returns to stargazing)
The two stays there for a few more minutes. Both are actually cold, but didn't want to ruin or end the moment.
Futhark: (thinking: I should've brought a jacket or something.)
Joyeuse: (thinking: I should've brought hot coffee.)
Futhark: Ano, nilalamig ka na?
Joyeuse: Nope. Are you?
Futhark: Nope?
Joyeuse: Okay. Good.
Futhark: Good.
Joyeuse & Futhark: (thinking: Damn, I'm cold.)
After a few more minutes...
Futhark: (sneezes)
Joyeuse: You cold?
Futhark: Nope. Kumati lang ang ilong ko.
Joyeuse: Are you allergic to something?
Futhark: S-Siguro maalikabok banda rito. (squeezes closer to Joyeuse) (thinking: Ah shoot, ang lamig pa rin ng braso ni Jo.)
Joyeuse: (touches Futhark's arm) Wow you're warm.
Futhark: (internally dies because of Joyeuse's cold hands) >n<
Futhark: K-Kung nilalamig ka sabihin mo lang.
Joyeuse: I'm not cold. (puts both hands on Futhark's arms)
The supposedly sweet atmosphere has turned into a competition of who can handle the cold better.
Futhark: (is squeezing himself against Joyeuse) Ano, nilalamig ka na?
Joyeuse: (has his arms wrapped around Futhark's arms) (actually hugging him from behind) Nope. Maybe you are.
Futhark: No, I'm fine.
Joyeuse: You sure? Because you're using me as a jacket.
Futhark: Aren't you using me as a heater?
Joyeuse: I'm hugging you because I think you're cold.
Futhark: I'm letting you hug me because I think you want some warmth.
Joyeuse: I don't need your warmth.
Futhark: Then let me go?
Joyeuse: You'll be cold.
Futhark: No.
Futhark: Actually for some reasons, pati 'yong mukha ko mainit na.
Joyeuse: Then... do you want me to stop hugging you?
Futhark: B-Baka lamigin ka?
Joyeuse: No, I'm thinking about you.
Laevateinn: (from the roof) (throws a bucket of rainwater at them) If you two are cold, shut up and get inside!
Futhark & Joyeuse: (runs inside the house)
Laevateinn: (continues sleeping on the roof)
