"Girl get up I wanna go to dinner tonight" my bestfriend says to me over the phone
"Girl you always tryna do something. Can neverrrrr stay in the house" I reply laughing
"I guess i'll go cause i'm hungry. You picking me up or we meeting there?"
"I'll pick you up, just be ready by 6:30" she says
"Okay boo, love you" I say blowing her a kiss
"love you too" she replies smiling and blowing me a kiss back.
Ari has been my best friend for the longest. We have gone through everything together. Ups and downs and all. I treat her as she is my sister.
I haven't been out in a long time , she is honestly the only one that gets me out the house.
I walked into the bathroom turning on the shower water and get in.
Once I was done washing up I fixed my hair and got dressed.
I didn't want to dress too fancy nor too basic
I checked my phone realizing it was 6:20.
I don't take that damn long to get ready, it was just 4:45

I sprayed myself with perfume and walked outside once I heard her loud ass car and music pull up.
I locked my front door and walked over to her car excited to see my bestfriend.
"hey bitchhhh" I say giving her a hug
"hey girl!"
"you look good as fuckk" she says making me smile.
"thank you thank you"
"you lucky you my best friend cause girlll"
"stoppp" i say laughing
"where we going?" i ask. "girl you'll see, we'll be there in 20"

we walked in and i instantly smelled some good ass food.
"ouuu girl it smells so gooood"
"I know, I love it here" "now come on let's go to our table" Ari says grabbing my hand and dragging me to the table
"ouu bitch we got a table with the best view"
this restaurant was by the water and by all of the city lights. you already know where we're at, the city everybody loves. New York.
i loved living up here. the city is my happiness. yes it's bad parts and i have lived on the bad side once. and i do wanna leave new york fully one day. but for right now this is where i belong
i've gone through so much in this state. with family and with relationships especially.
my past relationships scarred me so bad. i never want to be in one again.
cheated on. abused. you name it.
but hey, what can we do. life goes on.
"Hi my name is Kayla and I am going to be your waitress today can I start you off with drinks?"
"Yes, 2 Margaritas" Ari says smiling
"Okay , i'll be right back with your drinks"
"You knew what I wanted before i even said anything"

i turn my head making eye contact with him.

i draw myself out of my daze and turn back to Ari.
"bitch he's fine"
"get his number!" she says trying to encourage me.

i was only saying that because i was shy and not bold.
then from the corner of my eye i see him getting up and walking towards us.
"girll oh my goddd"
"girl just take his number or instagram. something. fuck what trey think" ari says rolling her eyes
"girl i know his gram, that's pop smoke" i say shaking my head
rappers are hoes.
of course she had to bring him up. trey was my ex. the one that scarred me from being in any other relationship. he did everything beyond and above to hurt me.
"girl what i-"
"hey ma"
his voice.
just him.
"what's up" i say
we locked eyes.
it was like he was staring in my soul.
"you look good" pop says
"thank you" i reply trying to hide my face knowing it was turning red
"The name is Pop, Pop smoke. Let me get your number ma" he says handing me his phone
"i know who you are. the name is jayda." i grab his phone putting it in and saving my contact as my name.
"preciate it. i'll hit you later"
"okay, bye pop" i wave at him smiling
"bye jay" he says waving back
"bitch he's a rapper. get with himmm" ari says chuckling
"girl no rappers are hoes. he can be my lil vibe but relationship wise i don't know"
"you say that now" ari says smacking her teeth
"we'll see"
