A/N:
Growing up, I was team Jacob (Taylor Lautner was hot and I have an obsession with shapeshifters) but then I read the books and switched to team Edward (this ended abruptly when I read the leaked pages of Midnight Sun a few years ago). Now, I am pretty much team no one—but I absolutely love Emmet
Cullen. He's so sweet, so lovable, and so unproblematic (unlike the other Twilight men—except Carlisle). When I got this fic idea, it was a no-brainer that Emmet would be the love interest. I want to give a special thank you to sebby_82 who taught me a lot about the deaf community and the experience of being deaf and or hard of hearing. I truly appreciate your help.
I also want to state that I've upped the ages the Cullens were when they were turned into vampires; Emmett was 22, Edward was 20, Alice was 20, Jasper was 21, Carlisle was 28, and Esme was 26.
