The following week was unbearably slow. Every class moved at a tortoises pace, the afternoons you spent sitting in the garden. Your mental health had gotten worse each passing day, the cracks at the base of the gate had traveled up the pillars. It was getting more unstable, everytime you feared it would crush you before Friday. You wanted the cool flow of a stream to be the last thing you touch, not a bunch of concrete blocks. The growth surrounding the garden had either died or was coated with a shade of pitch black, the sky was no longer a neon blue. Instead it was an inky abyss lacking any stars or moon. The garden was no longer safe to be in, but you didn't care. You just wanted the week to be done with, you could care less about a garden.

Friday had finally approached, and as expected school couldn't have been more slow. But nevertheless you kept on your weak smile. The stream would calm you down, it would make everything better. And if it doesn't it's not like I would know, you would be sleeping for an eternity.
Your smile had lessened.

Is this really the right choice though?

....

I have no other choice so I guess not..

Your Professor had handed back the graded tests, as he handed yours back you spotted the disappointed look in his eyes. Looking at your grade you got a D-

You chuckled, even when miserable you were still so immature. The class had ended and you were called to the professors desk.

"Yes sir.."

Your voice was still as mumbly as ever.

"Since you saw your grade I expect you know what this is about?"

You nodded your head slightly, his sharp green eyes buried into you, it made you shift your legs side to side.

"I've assigned you and your tutor to meet on Saturday in the schools public library, don't miss it."

He narrowed his eyes at you, skeptical of your unusual giddy behavior. He dismissed you from his desk and you plodded away from the school. Not taking your usual root home, you start heading to the bridge.

You walked slower than you had thought you would. You guess you wanted to savor the chilly and crisp atmosphere, the only good thing about this town. You halted your steps, in front of you stood the bridge. You walked over to the the rail and let your book bag slide off of your shoulders, a note that you had written previously slipped from the small side pocket. It detailed how you felt invisible and neglected by everyone around you. You doubted anyone would read it, or know who it was from despite you having your name written on it. Your smile prevailed throughout the walk to the bridge, butterflies exploded in your stomach. Seldom were of excitement. You felt unusually scared.

Am I scared it will hurt? Is that it? That only makes me more pitiful than I was before..

You took your hand and grasped the rail, you carefully pulled your self over the freezing metallic bars. You now were standing at the very edge of the bridge, the wind had decided to pick up just as you stepped onto the outward concrete. You took time to admire your surroundings, the sky was grey with snow clouds. But that only set the atmosphere further. Your eyes had emotion exploding in them, fear, excitement, sadness all mixed into a whirlpool of (e/c) irises. Taking a deep breath you jumped off of the concrete before you slipped and fell unwillingly.

Everything seemed to pass by slowly, the wind ran through you hair as it blew upward. Your hands were lifted above your head.

The gate is crumbling

You closed your eyes, tears breaking through your eyelashes.

It's falling

You looked down to the stream, the water was getting closer to you. That was until your arm felt like it was being pulled off, the stream had stopped approaching you, every thing was still. You looked up to see who was tugging on your arm. An orange parka had struck through the neutral landscape of the bridge, his blonde hair blew along with the wind. His blue eyes stared at you, with sadness, anger, and disbelief. Due to your weight he started to get pulled down too.

You were stunned

What is he doing!?

You yelled at the blonde, your voice was raspy and and cracked while you used it. You really didn't talk for the whole week huh?

"If you keep hanging on your going to fall too!!"

"Then help me out and pull yourself up!"

His voice didn't sound scared at all, that's when you remembered he couldn't die.

His warm grasp started to move to your wrist, his weak grip slipping.

Your feet drew closer to the bottom as Kenny couldn't hold onto you much longer.
Then you remembered your mother.

She would be devastated... I'm sure she still loves me, she's just.... Stressed is all.

The stream drew nearer

And maybe... If Kenny can notice me then maybe others can too. I can finally be loved..

The thought was enough to wrap your hand around Kenny's arm and grip onto the edge of the bridge with your other hand. Your were able to make it back onto the sturdy surface, and immediately after you were caught in a similar warm embrace. Kenny, the REAL Kenny was hugging you. Tears once again welled up in your eyes, an you showed no hesitation in sobbing, returning the hug.

Surprisingly, Kenny consoled you, as he rubbed circles around your back as he also whispered 'it's okay's into your ears. You continued to cry and sob, the realization of what you were just about to do hitting you like a truck. It felt as if you were bawling into his shoulder for hours, the devastating minutes dragging themselves forward. Your cries didn't calm down, not even a bit,but the blonde held you for the five or so minutes. You were grateful for his patience.

His eyes stared into your own,the overwhelming ocean telling you he was about to say something serious.

"Why did you do that?" You unintentionally cut off the blonde, your dazed state of mind melting your awareness.

He looked at you, the serious ocean had calmed, the furious waves halted to slam against the shore.

A beach and a garden, what calming places.
You wondered if his ocean was ever coated with black before.

The dreadful air was silent, he didn't answer your question. The next words that came from his lips made you jump.

"I notice you.."

You face was blank, processing his dialogue. You let out a sob of joy when you realized, you have finally been acknowledged by a classmate. You didn't care about the lack of context, the fact that he could see you was enough.

"H-how?"

You hiccuped, as your voice kept cracking. You throat itched, anticipation eating at you.

"You're cursed like me"

I'm....cursed?

You muted out the rest of the males dialogue.

Cursed! Ha- good one! What's next? I can fly?
You thought bitterly,as you came to your own realization that this was a prank. You weren't surprised, but they really had to break your heart by ignoring you all these years?

"(Y/n)!"

But your arms were crossed, your disappointment had your patience thinning.

"I'm cursed" you deadpanned, hoping to make him admit to his stupid joke.

He could sense the sarcasm dripping from your voice, you obviously didn't believe him.

"Yes, I'm serious!"

You scoffed, he didn't have the guts to admit it. What an asshole.

"How am I cursed? If I was I think I would have noticed.. "

You were getting heated, why wouldn't he just admit to his prank! It's not that fucking hard!
He sighed, you were ready for his supposed explanation.

"Your cursed with invisibility, no one can see or notice you. That's why your left out of so many things."

"Then how can our professor and my conductor see me?"

You were ready to disprove his weak statement. Your words were laced with venom and hatred, giving him the most vile look you could muster.
He noticed you weren't buying it, so he grabbed you hand and dragged you all the way into town.

"Jump into that patch of flowers"
He ordered, looking over to the sprouting plants there stood a sign that very clearly stated.

DO NOT WALK IN

And several people watching over it, making sure no one trampled the beautiful lillies.

You hesitated, you didn't want to get reprimanded. But before you knew it Kenny had pushed you into the bed of flowers, you caught yourself thankfully. That was until you noticed both you feet were fully dug into the flower bed, crushing the petals with your converse. You froze, now you were going to get it.

You squeezed your eyes shut, several minutes past, looking over your shoulder a guard just stared through you. Not even bothering to spare you a glance. You didn't know what to feel, glad that it wasn't a prank? Or devastated, as you realized no one could even see you, in the most literal sense. You wanted to throw up all over the vibrant life around you. You hated this feeling. You wanted to go back to the garden now. You squeezed you eyes shut, tears pricking at the outer corners.

"See? I told you"

Kenny walked over to you and put a hand on your shoulder.

"HEY KID, GET OUT OF THE FLOWERS"

Kenny jumped and grabbed your hand, as you both ran like your lives depended on it.
