No POV
We begin this chapter with Y/n and Subaki walking down the streets of the new world they found themselves in, looking around in marvel and confusion as to how they got there and where they were
Subaki: "Well I'd say from the looks of things, I'd say this is some kind of fantasy world with medieval style culture"
As she said this, a couple anthropomorphized creatures walked by them, going about their day as usual
Y/n: "A place where demi-humans are common place and there's always some type of adventure to go on"
Subaki: "Exactly! And in this magical world, I must've-"
???: "Hey, watch out!"
The sound of a young child screaming in fear caught everyone's attention as they turned to see the source was a small boy who had fallen on the middle of the road as a cart was heading in his direction at full speed
Y/n: "Looks like I'm up, be back in a second!"
With that, Y/n dashed towards the kid and held up his left hand as the mark began to glow white and white smoke came from the hand and within the blink of an eye, Y/n teleported towards the kid, grabbed him, and then teleported across the street, out of harms way and only a few moments later, the cart being pulled by a large lizard sped right past them
Y/n: "You alright?"
The kid looked up at Y/n and nodded his head as the nearby civilians on both sides of the streets began to cheer for what just happened as a knight in iron armor approached him, seemingly out of breath after running in heavy armor
Knight: "Good job kid, I'm afraid I wouldn't've made it in time"
Y/n: "No problem"
Letting the kid go, he quickly ran back to his parents as Y/n stood up and brushed the dirt from his pants
Knight: "I ain't ever seen magic like that before though, where're you from?"
Y/n: "Karnaca, a kingdom from far away, and I guess you could say the magic's hereditary too"
Knight: "I see, well, I won't keep you. Have a good day"
Knight: "You too"
With that, Y/n blinked back to Subaki who had an impressed smile on her face as they continued walking
Subaki: "Only ten minutes in and you're playing hero"
Y/n: "What can I say, If I've got magic, I might as well use it"
Eventually, they found themselves in a marketplace and passing by a storefront, Y/n noticed Subaki had come to a stop at one of the stalls, a look of realization on her face as she stared at the text and Y/n did the same and he realized something too
Y/n: "I have no idea what this says"
Shopkeep: "Hey you two"
Getting their attention, they looked towards the owner of the stall who had a grin on his face he examined the two
Shopkeep: "You two ain't from around here, are you?"
Y/n: "No sir, how can you tell?"
Shopkeep: "Well you're wearing some strange clothes, I ain't ever seen fashion like that before"
Y/n: "Yeah, I've heard that earlier today too, it's from our homelands, a small set of island"
Shopkeep: "Well then, welcome to Lugnica, I hope you have a wonderful time"
Subaki then gestured to the basket of apples that sat before her as she began to ask her question
Subaki: "So are these-"
Shopkeep: "Appas, the freshest you'll find"
Hearing that, Subaki then dung into her pocket before pulling out some of Japan's currency and presented it to the shopkeep who looked confused at the sight of it
Shopkeep: "I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that's your home's currency. I'm sorry but that's worthless here In Lugnica, and that means you're both broke. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave so I can focus on paying customers"
Y/n: "Right, come one then Subaki, let's go"
With that, Y/n and Subaki then started walking away as the scene then changed to our two protagonists walking down the street, a more downtrodden look on their faces after realizing they had no way of paying for anything as they approached a building
Subaki: "Looks like we'll have to rely on good old information"
Coming to a stop outside the building, they saw there were two entrances, one on the right and one on the left and so they both went into the one closest to them, with Y/n going on the left and Subaki choosing the right in order to find out if this was in fact an information hub
With Subaki, the moment she entered hers, she came to the shocking conclusion that this wasn't an information hub like they thought it was and instead, it was a restroom and she had just entered the male side as evident by the presence of a couple human and demi-human males who were washing their hands before spotting her, two of the men giving their best attempt at a smoldering gaze while the other two just went about washing their hands as she slowly backed out of the bathroom with a blush on her face
Meanwhile as that happened with Subaki, with Y/n we see him walk in and freeze on the spot like a statue as was met with the sight of multiple human and Demi-Human women who had also frozen on the spot at the sight of the young male in their side of the apparent restrooms
Y/n: "..."
Women: "..."
Y/n: "...I'm just gonna go, have a good day"
With that Y/n just backed away from the restroom slowly as he bumped into Subaki as they looked at each other, both sporting a similar blush of embarrassment
Y/n: "We never speak of this again"
Subaki: "Agreed"
With that, the two then walked off in search of somewhere they could try and get information from, the scene then changing to the outside of a tavern as Y/n leaned against the bridge that overlooked a large river stream while Subaki entered the
While Y/n was waiting there, he was talking to a couple of Demi-Humans as they were joking about something before his attention was drawn to Subaki's shouts of surprise and discomfort as she backed away from the tavern, her hands covering her eyes
Subaki: "Ah, my eyes! I can't see-woah!"
As she was backing away, she ended up colliding with the bridge which sent her over the side and into the water below as Y/n quickly dived in after her
The scene then changed once more to show them in an alleyway, taking a break from all the walking as they sat there, with their jackets off to let them dry after they got out of the water, Subaki sitting there with her head down while Y/n was emptying out the bag to let everything in it dry, which included Subaki's things she bought from the store, Y/n's mask and a small wooden box that was opened and had it's contents lying next to it, which was only two things
the first was what appeared to be just the handle of a sword, the blade nowhere to be seen as it ended at the cross-guard
The next item from the box was what appeared to be a crossbow which laid alongside the bolts that are used to fire it. The design of the crossbow being incredibly unique, being small enough to fit in one hand
Getting a better look at the bolts, we could see that they were a large variety of different types, starting with normal crossbow bolts, they then changed to one bundle with a white glowing liquid inside the container located on the business end
(Incendiary Arrows)
Next were a bundle of needle-like darts with a green liquid inside of them
(Sleep Darts)
The third set was a makeshift set of bolts that consisted of a broken bolt with a green glowing insect that was still alive, tied to the inside of the bolt as it laid there
(Howling Bolts)
And last of all, there sat a set of bolts that were filled with a red glowing liquid, all waiting to be used on the next unsuspecting target

Seeing that everything in the box was fine, Y/n finished drying them off as Subaki began to speak
Subaki: "Is this how it's supposed to be? Cause none of it makes sense! This is a different world summons, right?! Where's our main character set up and status bar?!... Damn..."
Reaching into her pocket, Subaki then pulled out her phone and turned it on, as much to her surprise, it still worked as she began cycling through the contacts which consisted of; City Hall, Dad, Mom, and Pizza
Subaki: "looks like my cell-phone still works...not like there's any point in having it now!"
Subaki then looked over to her bag of food as she opened it to get a better look, the sight of it only bringing more misery to her
Subaki: "And the gear they started me off with is a joke, at least you've got some good gear Y/n"
Y/n: "I'm just glad they were in my bag when we came here, otherwise we would've had some trouble"
Subaki: "What are they anyways and where'd you get them?"
Y/n then placed the pack of Stinger Bolts in the box as he then grabbed the handle first to speak
Y/n: "This is my great, great grandfather Corvo's sword, the blade has the ability to fold into the handle, like a switchblade or a butterfly knife, watch"
Y/n then proceeded to flip the handle as it opened up and the blade came from the handle and extended to the full length, revealing it to be a short sword
After giving the blade a show to Subaki, he then let the blade collapse back into the handle as he placed it back in the box before grabbing the unloaded crossbow and giving it to her to look at
Y/n: "That crossbow belonged to my great grandmother Emily Kaldwin"
Subaki: "I remember hearing about her in history classes, she was an Empress, right?"
Y/n: "Yep, that's right"
Subaki then ran her fingers along the side of the weapon in admiration for the fine craftmanship for a weapon of it's age before handing it back to Y/n who looked at it with a smile before placing it in the box along with the bolts as he then shut it and locked it with a key
Subaki: "But back to what I was saying before, If we were summoned here. Where's the cute girl or guy that summoned us here? Why would they do that and then bail on us?"
Y/n: "Maybe it's an Overlord type of transportation? Maybe there wasn't anyone specifically that transported us here?"
Subaki: "Maybe, but then what caused us to transport here?"
As they spoke, they then noticed a group of individuals approaching them from down the alley as a smile found it's home on Subaki's face while Y/n narrowed his eyes in suspicion at the group as he got to his feet
Subaki: "Yes! You're finally here! It's nice to-"
Y/n: "Subaki, shut up, do they look like they use magic?"
Subaki stopped mid-sentence as she then got a better look at the trio of men that approached them, giving her eyes some time to adjust as she realized that they looked more like common street thugs instead of magic users
Seeing the sinister smirk on the middle man's face and the generally dangerous vibe the three gave off, Subaki quickly got to her feet and stepped back as Y/n stood partially in front of her as the youngest of the thugs spoke up
Kid: "What are you two yapping about?"
Y/n: "None of your business, now run along home you three"
The one with a shackle and chain around his neck grew an irritated smirk on his face as he started to approach him
Shackle: "Oh don't worry, we'll be on our merry way once you've handed over everything you've got!"
Hearing that, Y/n had a smirk on his face as he took a step back while handing the key to his box to Subaki
Y/n: "Subaki, can you please hold onto this for me and put the box in my bag?, don't want to lose them after all"
Subaki: "S-sure, are you going to be alright though? They look pretty mean"
Y/n: "Trust me Suu, I'll be fine"
Grabbing his mask from off the ground, he then put it on as it then tightly secured itself to his face and he looked to the three thugs who now looked a little off-put thanks to the skull-motif the mask had as Y/n then cracked his knuckles before speaking, the mask making his voice sound hollow
Y/n: "Now, who's first?"
Instead of getting an answer from any of the three thugs though, they all got one in the form of a new voice shouting out at them from the entrance of the alley
???: "Move it, Move it! Move it you guys! Hurry, out of the way!"
Hearing the voice, Subaki's head perked up as she looked to the source along with the others and noticed the silhouette was that of a young lady and upon seeing her, she stood up in excitement, accidentally dropping Y/n's box onto the stone ground in the process and missing the sound of something cracking from within as she pointed out to the mysterious lady
Subaki: "Y/n, look! I knew it, there was a cute girl who summoned us"
As she said this, the girl slowed down as she stepped into the daylight that seeped into the alleyway allowing us to get a good look at her
A short girl with fair skin and medium-length golden hair with a black bow. She has red eyes and wears a black top, red scarf, and black pants that are incomplete on the left side, where she also wears a red ribbon. She also wears a vest, gloves, and brown shoes, and has a belt with a sheath where her knife is.
As Subaki shouted that sentence though, the girl slowed down as a look of confusion came across her face at hearing what was said
Girl: "Eh? Summoned? I don't know what you're talkin' about, but I'm really busy, Sorry, now, is your friend here gonna move so I can go? I really can't be late"
With everyone looking back to Y/n, they watched as he stepped to the side
Y/n: "I have no current qualms with you, go right ahead"
Girl: "Cool, thanks buddy!"
With the way clear, she ran pass them before leaping onto the wall, much to both parties' surprise and with impressive feats of agility, leapt from one wall to the other before she then leapt onto the roof and continued running as everyone looked on impressed at what they just witnessed before Subaki spoke up
Subaki: "By any chance, seeing that wouldn't've happened to have made you guys feel any less hostile, would it?"
In response, the bigger guy then cracked his knuckles as he shook his head and spoke
Big Guy: "Actually, seeing that rained on our parade and made things worse"
Subaki: "Of course it did"
With that, they were all quiet as they got ready to fight, but to Y/n's surprise, instead of staying back, the first one to strike was Subaki who delivered an impressive left hook to the bigger thug which had enough force to send him to the ground before turning to the child and kicking him in the face, sending him to the ground, much to Shackles, Y/n, and even her own surprise
Y/n: "Holy shit Suu, nice job! That's the first time I've seen you punch another person like that before"
Subaki: "Y-Yeah! I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins, holy shit this is exciting! I feel like I can do anything!"
Y/n: "That tends to happen, now let me deal with this guy and we'll be on our way"
Turning to face the last one currently standing, they saw he had backed away from the duo, an angered look on his face as he reached behind him, only to pull two long blades from underneath his shirt and point them at the two
But to the shock and terror of Shackles, Y/n who was previously a good 5-6 feet away from him, was suddenly mere inches away from him and now holding one of his blade within the blink of any eye as he yelped in pain and stood back as he
Shackles: "So, you're a magic user, eh? Well who gives a shit! I'll cut you down here and now!"
Y/n: "Then by all means, let's dance, shall we?"
Shackles then took a swing at Y/n who blocked it with the other blade he stole from Shackles before delivering a punch to the man's gut and then followed up with a headbutt and then slammed his face into the wall of the building next to them as Subaki noticed the other two thugs twitch with every hit shackles took, earning grunts of pain from them in the process
Shackles then tried swinging at Y/n, managing to land a hit to his chest and causing Y/n to stumble a bit and so, Y/n decided to end it here and there so that he didn't make another mistake, locking blades with Shackles, Y/n placed his free hand against the man's stomach as the other two began to slowly get up
Y/n: "Have a nice flight you three"
With that, a powerful gust of wind shot from Y/n's hand, sending Shackles flying into the air and with him followed his two lackeys as they all landed at the entrance to the alley in a daze before they eventually sat up, looking at Y/n who still had a dagger in his hand while Shackle's other one was out of his reach
Y/n: "So, who's up for a haircut? I'll only take a little off the top so don't worry"
Shackles then growled in anger as they all stood up, all showing signs of the same injuries that Shackles had, despite only getting punched/kicked in the face
Shackles: "If I ever see you again, I'm gonna make you regret it!"
With that, shackles and the others then ran off out of the alleyway, leaving them alone again as Y/n sighed with relief before taking his mask off and hooking it to his belt
Y/n: "That was one hell of a welcome, hey Subaki?"
Subaki: "Y-Yeah"
Feeling the adrenaline leaving her veins, Subaki then fell to the ground, sitting on the steps again as she was panting and felt a tingling sensation in her hand that she used to punch the man with
Unfortunately though, they weren't finished yet as a new voice was heard at the entrance way to the alley
???: "Hold it!"
Stopping in his tracks, Y/n turned to face the source of the voice and saw that it belonged to another woman
This one being a beautiful Half-Elf with long silver hair and purple-blue eyes. She wears a white and purple outfit along with a white flower in her hair.
Seeing her, Y/n could only sigh in annoyance as he then spoke to the lady
Y/n: "Can I help you ma'am?"
Girl: "I must ask of you to return that which you have stolen from me right this instance!"
Y/n and Subaki could only look at the girl in confusion as they heard her demand
Y/n: "...Huh?"
Girl: "Please, it's very important to me! I'll turn the other cheek concerning the other belongings, but I can't let you have that, so hand it over!"
Y/n: "Look lady, I haven't taken anything from you, your best bet would have to be that girl that ran by here a few minutes ago, she went that way"
Pointing in the direction that the girl from earlier went, the girl standing before Y/n proceeded to grab her chin as she looked at the tired and annoyed look on Y/n's face
Girl: "Hmm, you don't appear to be lying, so I need to go after her!"
Without even as much as a thank you, the girl then ran pass Y/n and Subaki and upon reaching the top of the stairs, she slowly came to a stop as she then turned to face Y/n again, her gaze turning to a harsh glare as she saw the dagger in his hand as he approached the tired Subaki
Girl: "But, Regardless of that. I can't overlook what you plan to do!"
Raising her hand and pointing it in Y/n's direction, he didn't even get time to explain as a bright light shone from her hand and then a ball of ice, the size of a coconut shot towards Y/n, striking him in the face as everything went black
