Charlotte
I slowly opened my eyes only to be met with darkness, that and a horrific ache all over my body.
I couldn't remember anything, where the hell was I?
I felt a tight fabric covering my mouth, it was wrapped so tightly around my neck that it was pushing my lips flat.
I felt a restriction around my stomach and hands, as my sense woke up a little I came to realise that it was rope, it irritated my skin but unfortunately that seemed to be the least of my worries.
My eyes eventually warmed up to the darkness a little and I could see certain outlines of objects, tall cabinets were all lay out I front of me but I couldn't see anything else. The room seemed quite empty, maybe a storage room? A basement?
A muffled groan escaped my lips as I stopped ignoring the pain. My body felt like it was on fire, no part of my body was cold whatsoever. My fingers and toes tingled and my chest was ready to rip itself apart.
Everything was overwhelming me at that point, uncomfortableness of the rope and fabric, the fact I couldn't see, my body burning and the fact that everything smelt so overwhelming.
I hadn't quite gotten used to my senses again so the fact that I could smell so many humid bodies was disgusting.
All of a sudden a blinding light switches on from above me, blanketing me in a yellow ish glow, it took a minute for my eyes to adjust but then I could make out dozens and dozens of people stood looking at me, people I didn't even recognise were staring at me.
I did recognise a few though, Nolan, Gabe, Monroe and... Sean..
It all came flooding back to me, everything that had happened in the changing rooms, Sean tricking me and stabbing me with wolfsbane.
I could feel the sweat building on my forehead as my eyes scanned everyone who was looking at me. They ranged from all ages, all of them hunters, all of them despising me.
"Well, what did I tell you all?" Sean started in an enthusiastic tone as if he was opening a circus act. He jumped up onto the platform where my chair was positioned and looked down at all of his followers. "I told you we'd get her and now that we've got her, we'll get them all." He smirked.
Monroe looked up at him with a proud smile stretched across her face. She held her hand up and Sean grabbed it, assisting her onto the platform to stand next to him and in front of me like I was some attraction at a museum.
"You see, no that we have her, they'll all fall in line. First, her brother, then his pack, then the rest of her pack, then they will all come out of hiding. They're a very loyal species, it's a sort of one for all type game. Then, there will be none left and you'll have nothing to worry about any longer." She boomed.
It struck me that that was how she was playing it, fear. She was scaring them all into joining her little... club.
I had to admit that she wasn't wrong though. That was exactly what would happen only a few more steps would have to be involved, there would be a huge war, lots of lives would be lost and in the end it will all be useless as there is always one pack that remains pacifist throughout it all, they'll stay hidden, out of sight out of mind, they'll repopulate the supernatural world and it'll all happen again in three hundred years time.
My mind still clouded with confusion though, what was there end game? To kill all of the supernatural but why? I guess they figured it would keep them safe but if I'd learnt anything then a couple of werewolves and a banshee was the least of their worries.
"How can we be sure though?" Nolan started. "How do we know that everything will be fine when they're dead?"
"Because they are the root of our problem, they kill us, feed on us and you're trying to tell me that this is a bad idea?" Monroe countered.
"No, I.. I get that but you can't kill all of the supernatural." He said nervousness clear in his voice.
"And why not?" Sean asked.
"Well I mean look at what happened just a few months ago, the ghost riders? They're still apart of it, they'll still come for us and we have no way of killing them."
His points were very valid, not that anyone else understood that, but he was right, there was no way that this town would still be standing if it wasn't for Scott's pack.
"They are long gone now and our threat is the werewolves, the ones who kill without hesitation," Monroe starts as she turns around to face me. She walks towards me and circles my chair before stopping just in front of me and placing a finger under my chin. "The ones who take lives without thinking about anyone but themselves." She said ripping her finger away.
My eyes full with tears and all I want to do is get away but my body was too weak, there was no way I was getting out of there.
She leant down slightly so that our eye line met. "You see," she started, her voice booming so that everyone could hear. "This one here is an old... family friend. She had business with my daddy back in the day. A man with a family, a wife and a daughter back home, but, oh no, she didn't care about that, she ripped his throat right out of his neck and didn't even take a minute to think about this man's daughter. A girl who loved her daddy with everything she had. Imagine a little girl having to identify her daddy's body sitting on a table, mutilated." She turned away from me and her voice suddenly became very harsh. "I was that little girl. They take things with no consideration just because they can." Everyone was so silent you could hear her trying to catch her breath.
I knew that some of her story was complete lies, she wasn't little, I was only 17, 15 when I killed Duron so she was probably at least 30 - dramatic effect. She wanted me to look as evil and as cruel as she possibly could.
I didn't know what to do, there literally nothing that I could do, hell, I didn't even know what time it was.
I assumed it was late night considering that the game ended at around 7 but I still couldn't be sure.
"Alright, we will talk more tomorrow but for now go home to your families. Some of you have shifts of watching her which you should already be aware of, Nolan it's your turn tonight." Sean said as he and Monroe stepped down from the platform.
After a few more minutes everyone left, except for Nolan and Sean.
They were having some conversation that I was too tired to listen in on so I just sat there.
It would take at least the night and probably even the next day before I had gotten my strength back and then I would escape, I don't care what it took, I was not staying longer than I needed to.
Sean looked over at me and then back at Nolan before saying something and leaving. Nolan shut and locked the door after himself and slowly made his way over to me.
I didn't know how he would act towards me, he had every right to torture me all night long after I'd kidnapped him but for some reason he didn't seem hateful, he even sort of maybe seemed on my side, at least earlier when he was protesting against Monroe.
He jumped up onto the platform and just stood there for a moment, contemplating what he was going to do.
He took a few steps closer and with each second my heart was beating harder and harder and sweat formed all over my body.
His fingers reached out to my face and I closed my eyes tightly in anticipation, I couldn't stand this, he should just get on with it.
But the pain never came.
Instead I felt his cold fingers as he pushed down the fabric covering my mouth, it fell around my neck and I opened my eyes and let out large gasping breaths, I was more than nervous and I had held my breath for too long.
I watched as Nolan sat down about a meter in front of me and crossed his legs, just looking up at me.
It was an odd silence, it wasn't uncomfortable it was as if we both had a weird understanding of each other.
"Why.. why aren't you hurting me?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.
"What would be the point, I don't gain anything and you'd just heal straight after anyway." I didn't know whether that was comforting or creepy.
"Why are you here? You clearly don't want to be." I said, I seemed to have gained a little more confidence, maybe too much.
"At first I thought I did but then I didn't and there's no way to get out once you're in, unless you die."
"Can't you just run away?"
"They'll just find me, your dad is the type to hunt and kill someone if they decided to just leave, I think they figure I'd tell people what I know if I ever get out."
That stumped me. What could he possibly know?
"What do you know?" I asked not actually expecting to get a proper answer.
"To be fair, not a lot. They think I know all these big secrets but I really don't."
"What could there possibly be to know? I mean, isn't it obvious what they want to do? Kill all supernatural, I thought that that was just a sort of known thing."
"I don't know what they're endgame is, they've obviously made a plan and they want you dead but why you? I mean, they could be going after Scott so why you?" He asked.
"Well, I killed her dad." I said.
"I don't think that's it, to be fair, I think that it's because you scare her, your pack easily outnumbers her army, think about all of the other supernatural who aren't I. Your pack, she knows that it won't be an easy win."
"Why are you here? Talking to me, I mean?" I asked, changing the conversation slightly.
"Because... I prefer you to any of the people who were here earlier." He said and for some reason I could tell he wasn't lying.
I didn't really feel as if I'd been kidnapped. I knew that I was and I knew that it would be incredibly dangerous but it didn't fell that bad in the moment, maybe Nolan made me feel safe for whatever reason.
I could feel it in my bones that something bad was going to happen and I knew that because I didn't have my meds, I would be one of the reasons.
