Zara just called me handsome...and I don't know why I can't stop smiling
Originally when she called me to ask for Matteo's number I couldn't help but feel a little jealous so I decided to ask her to come along with me and him to coffee
We started making small talk in the car while driving to meet Matteo at the cafe
I could tell she seemed uncomfortable when she talked about her parents, and I didn't press for more answers cus I could tell she didn't wanna talk about it
Maybe she will when she's ready
I can't lie when I say it's fun speaking to her in Italian and her not knowing what I am saying
Except it will be hard not calling her the classic pet names cus she knows the common ones from reading...so maybe I'll have to get creative
We just arrived at the cafe
"Hey, Matt!" Zara says
"Hey Zara, hey Enzo," Matteo says
We all ordered our drinks and sat down
I don't get to say anything because Zara beats me to it
"So the reason Enzo invited me I don't know if he told you...whatever not the point," she says shaking her head while smiling
"What happened when you went to your basketball date with Ava," she says grinning widely
She's so beautiful when she smiles
Matteo laughs " well I definitely don't think it's a date".....
"Whatever it was called I want the tea!! Ava won't tell me anything" she says sighing
I look down at her hands and see the snake ring that I gave her, and I can't help but smile as I see her fiddling with it
"Well...What happened"she says pushing Matteo to answer
And I can't help but laugh
She nudges my shoulder "it's not funny Enz I need to know! I can already see them getting married!" She tells me
I like her calling me enz...but I won't admit that to her
Geez is the mafia multi-millionaire turning soft for a girl...damn
"Sorry sorry" I laugh
"Well not much did happen, we bickered a lot," Matt says
"Ya it's actually pretty adorable when you guys do that," Zara says while laughing lightly
God I can listen to her laugh all-day
"Whatever anyway, we played basketball ball I won she got annoyed said 'she would've won if I wasn't distracting her' which I wasn't by the way, anyway she got annoyed and forced us to do a rematch but I couldn't cus of a meeting so we're gonna go again next Saturday," he says shrugging taking a sip of coffee
"OMG!!!! You guys so like each other, This is great" Zara says excitedly
She's so cute when she's excited
"Yeah, she definitely doesn't like me..." Matteo says
But he does...I am a guy but I mean it's kind of obvious even to me, you don't spend time with someone that's annoying on purpose if you don't like them
"Oh, she SO DOES! Do NOT tell her I said this but the girl added red velvet to our menu at my bakery!" Zara smiles
"Really?" Matteo says with a touch of amusement in his smile
"YESS!! Omg, you should totally come to the bakery with Mia or something and act like your getting her some cake and also get yourself some, You might even see little miss pinky pie there" Zara smirks
"Maybe I will...to obviously just annoy her or whatever, " Matt says
Oh god, he definitely likes her can he make it any more obvious, wait I hope I don't sound like that when I talk about Zara....
"Hey why don't you come to the cafe, Except when you drop off Mia" Zara looks at me with her brows furred
She wants me to come and see her?
I never went cus I didn't want to seem too needy or something, but if she wants me there I'll gladly go, the coffee there was actually amazing and that muffin too
"I don't know, I thought you wouldn't want to see me almost every day since you already see me when I drop off Mia or when you come," I say
"Don't be silly I love seeing you and talking with you" she says laughing lightly
She does?
"Alright then I'll have to come more often," I say with a smile trying to calm myself down
"Good" she smiles "OH WAIT, But don't feel like you need to come just cus I said I like seeing you," she says starting to clearly overthink
I lightly grab her hand that's resting on the table
"Relax I wouldn't come if I didn't want to okay?" I say playing with the ring on her finger
"Okay" she shyly smiles
She's so cute
"Anyways if anything you guys are the ones that like each other " Matteo rolls his eyes
Oh shit come on what the hell
He's not supposed to out his own friend
All Zara does is laugh a little while the hint of pink tints her cheeks
Mhm, she didn't say no?
"so what are you guys doing for thanksgiving" Matteo says
"I'm doing nothing just like every year" Zara shrugs
Perfect opportunity....
"You can come over to my house for thanksgiving," I say
"Aren't your parents coming?" She asks
"Ya so?" I don't know where she's going with this
"Well you say you don't see them often, so I don't want to interrupt your time with them," she says
"You wouldn't be interrupting anything, plus I would love it if you came and I'm sure Mia would to" I smile at her
"Alright" she smiles
"Ya I'm not doing anything either," Matteo told us sighing
Such a damn liar
"Stop lying you dumbass I know you're going to visit your parents" I roll my eyes
"Yeah and I really don't want to" Matteo rolls his eyes
"Why don't you wanna visit them?" Zara asks
I wanna ask why she's not visiting her parents or the other way around but refrain, I don't wanna make her uncomfortable, not everyone's families are perfect and maybe hers are controlling like Matteo's are, so I don't want to make her say anything that she's not comfortable with
"Well there very controlling, like they forced me into there business and to be head of-" I kick him in the foot under the table
He and I talked about this last week she can't know about the mafia
She can't know, not yet anyways I don't want her to leave me
We both got the mafia head titles passed down by our parents, we didn't want to but our parents didn't give us much of a choice
my parents aren't that bad and weren't as pushy towards it as his parents, though I knew they wanted me to take it...
"Head of what?" Zara asks with a confused expression
Shit
"Of the...company," Matteo says
"Oh well, that doesn't sound bad? Right I mean you guys are like multi almost billionaires" Zara says
"Yeah I guess so, but work can be really stressful and sometimes we get no breaks" Matteo shrugs
"OOH! We should get frozen yogurt after this!" Zara says
"It's October, it's cold outside" I laugh
"It's never the wrong time for frozen yogurt!" Zara says
I laugh this girl is absolutely adorable
And I want her...I just hope she wants me
"Ok come on" I roll my eyes
"Where?" Zara asks
"To get you your frozen yogurt " I laugh
"Really!!!!" She says excitedly
"damn you are whipped" Matteo laughs
"Who's whipped?" Zara asks
"No one...no one" Matteo laughs
