Usually kinsley would walk with me to lunch but today she was asked to stay behind in the class so the teacher could talk to her about something and I had to go warm my food up.
I sat at the lunch table by myself, eating as I was on my phone.
I smiled as I read this text message jr sent me, being rude as shit like usual and telling me I wasn't grown.This was the same thing he would do everytime something good happened for me which was his weird way of saying congratulations but we all know how brothers are.
"My favorite model" I could hear a voice say as a hand touched me causing me to look up. I saw lashaun sitting down beside me and I smiled
"Oh hey lashaun"
"Whatchu up to?"
"Nothing. I was just texting my brother"
"Jr?"
"You know my brother?" I asked with my eyebrows knitted together
"Who don't know yo brother?" Lashaun chuckled, looking me right in my face "whatchu doing Saturday?"
"Nothing. I gotta free weekend"
"Let's go to the movies this weekend"
"So you can cancel on me again?"
Lashaun sucked his teeth "you probably ain even wanted to go. I seen y'all was lit over at Jeremiah house this weekend"
I let out a laugh
"Okay.. I really didn't wanna go but this time I'm down for real I guess"
"Nah ion need you guessing" he grabbed my hand "I wantchu to be sure"
I jokingly rolled my eyes "I'm sure"
Obviously it was no chance of me escaping Lashaun so since he wanted to take me out so bad, why not let him and let's just see how it goes
A smile spread across his face
"You really is in a good mood I see"
"Yeah. I actually am. I wish I could talk about it but ion wanna speak on it too much"
"Well just know I like seeing you like this" he let go of my hand and placed it under my chin before standing up "ima hit you up later"
"Okay. Sure" I just simply responded before he walked off and I watched him
"My boyfriend is avoiding me" I could hear Kaleia say as she sat down beside me, interrupting my gaze. I looked over at her and saw she had a pout on her face so I grabbed my water
"What did you do now?" I asked her before I started drinking from it
"All I did was mention sex" she said with a shrug and I choked a little.
"Girl"
"What?"
I grabbed a napkin and wiped my mouth after sitting my bottle of water down again
"Sex? Why?"
"Because... I mean, we plan to be together forever"
"So what's the rush"
Kaleia sighed "don't do that"
"I'm just saying. and you should've known I was gonna do this. I don't understand what's the hype about having sex anyways"
"Brielle you're practically Asexual so of course you'll think different"
"Asexual is doesn't seem too bad. You see Aunt Mary. She's successful, rich with no kids and living her best life" I mumbled as I ate some of my food
"Listen Brielle. I'm telling you this because I know how close you and Jeremiah are. Hell, when it comes to one on one bonds in our friend group everybody seems to be the closest to you and confides in you. Even Kyran"
"Well 1... that's because I'm the only one that uses my head obviously while the rest of y'all use your feelings and sexual parts... and for 2... Kyran does NOT confide in me. The only person Kyran confides in is his daddy and barely that. He's the definition of fuck the world"
"Well still, he seems pretty close to you just like everybody else"
"Well I can't help I'm everybody's favorite" I looked around the cafeteria and spotted Jeremiah and Kyran standing over at another table. Jeremiah was goofing off with somebody at the table while some girl was talking to Kyran and he wore that same nonchalant ass look on his face as usual
I couldn't sit here and pretend like I wasn't finding myself more attracted to him as the days went by. His looks alone was a win but also something about his personality... the quietness, nonchalant and slight rudeness was kind of attractive as well
"Ion like that bitch right there" I could hear a different voice say making me look and I saw that it was kinsley. She was eyeing the girl Kyran was talking to while she sat on the other side of me
"Why you don't like her?" Kaleia laughed
"Cause she a bitch. And if Kyran entertain her on God ima shut it down"
"She was with Dominique at the game Friday ain it?" I asked and she nodded, opening a bag of zaxby's
"Yeah"
"Wait.. Dominique? Dominique Dominique? The fine one that you not supposed to be around?" Kaleia asked. I looked at kinsley and she nodded, just opening her food casually
"Yeahhhh."
"So what her being around him make you upset for if you ain allowed to talk to him"
"Issa longgg story" I just simply told Kaleia because honestly bringing that up wouldn't be too good of an idea
"Well I got time" Kaleia grabbed a fry from kinsley's food. I sat back in my seat
"No you don't. We not done with our conversation"
"Oh she told you she ran Jeremiah off?" Kinsley grinned, eating a fry. Kaleia crossed her arms
"I didn't RUN him off. And STOPPP saying that. I don't even see why he acting like this anyways. It's not like HE'S the virgin in our relationship"
"Well shit, you would think he was and you wasn't at this point"
Kaleia stuck her finger up at me and me and kinsley laughed
"Calm down Kaleia. Maybe he don't wanna rush into that yet. I mean he did let a senior take his virginity when he was a freshman. That's some traumatic stuff for him probably"
"That's borderline sick" I blurted out with my face frowned up. "She was 18 wanting a 14 year old...."
"Well I'm not her" Kaleia shrugged. Kinsley picked up her drink and sipped from it before talking
"You in such a rush... what? You dying or some?"
"NO! I just... I can't explain it"
"Well you need to. Cause I wanna know" kinsley bugged "you just wanna know how sex feel? You just wanna do it to say you did it? What is it?"
"Well you ain a virgin kin so you can't be too judgmental"
"I'm not being judgmental. I just wanna know because like you said. I'm not a virgin so I can tell you what not to do"
"You know what.. let just drop it" she quickly said as she looked in the direction of Jeremiah and Kyran, seeing they were coming over to the table
Jeremiah was about to walk past Kaleia to sit in the other seat near kinsley but she grabbed him by his bookbag and made him sit beside her causing Kyran to laugh, taking the seat beside his twin
"Don't fuckin play" she straight faced Jeremiah and he side eyed her
"I ain gone be taking too much of yo abuse now... I'm the man around this school. You can't be pullin me around like that"
"Well stop avoiding me" she lowly said and I looked at kinsley
"What did the teacher want?"
"Oh.. she just wanted me to make her a simple dress for her vow renewal ceremony next month. I told her I'll do it"
"So where you get Zaxby's from?"
"One of my lil thangs got it for me"
Kyran shook his head
"Calm down" kinsley rolled her eyes at him "I'm just playing. Daddy brought it for me"
"Damn. And he ain ask if we wanted food?" Jeremiah asked, offended
"First of all" kinsley looked at him while Kaleia laid her head on his shoulder "Yo momma a WHOLEEEEE chef. Fast food shouldn't even be in yo vocabulary. And second, YES. He did ask but I told him y'all said y'all was good cause Kyran said he was getting a pizza delivered to the school"
"Can y'all even do that?" I asked which made Kyran stare at me and I could feel the chills
"We do what we want" Jeremiah replied "but that don't concern you. You enjoy yo leaves and seeds you be eating light bright"
"How about you go to hell" I told Jeremiah and Kyran chuckled, keeping his eyes on his phone
"It's all love ET" Jeremiah said, mocking what Jr used to call me when I was little because he swore I was an alien. As he got up coming over to me and put his hand on my shoulder, I pushed it off
"Don't touch me... fuck you" I cursed, tuning them out while I finished eating
