Enzo's pov
It's now the day Zara is supposed to come watch Mia
I have wanted to come by the bakery, but I have been busy at work and Maria has had to watch Mia, but I feel bad because I don't want her running around watching over her
Today I have a meeting about the weapon shipments, and then I need to do some paperwork so it should take about 3 hours
I am finished getting ready for work, Mia is with Maria as she's making dinner, and I hear the gate alarm beep, Which means Zara is here
I am not sure why I'm so nervous
I can't act like a teenaged boy
I walk around the corner to see Zara
She looks absolutely beautiful I can't help but admire her for a moment, her long hair is up in a ponytail, cheeks tinted pink and her brows are knit together as she is in deep thought
Before she catches me and thinks I'm a creep I walk closer, we make eye contact and it feels like the world slows down
What is this girl doing to me...damn it I need to get myself together
"Hi Zara, you look nice, thank you for coming," I tell her
What I wanted to say was you look breathtaking how about I just cancel my important stupid meeting so I can be with you instead
But refrained from it because I do need to be at this meeting
She stares at me for a bit, looks down at her outfit with her eyebrows knit together...does she not think she looks nice?
"Thank you, you look nice as well" she smiles up at me
Suddenly I feel a little too hot in this suit I mean it's just a compliment but from her, it seems like more for some reason
It means more to me coming from her.
"So where is Mia?" She asks
"She's in the kitchen follow me," I say
I want to say something but I can tell she's deep in thought as she's taking in the house so I just let her be
We get to the kitchen and Mia spots Zara and lunges out of her chair
"ZEEEEE YOUR HEREEEE" she meets her in for a hug
And it's the most precious sight looking at Mia and Zara hugging
I would rather watch them all day, but I check my watch and realize I have to head out
"Well thank you again for watching her Zara, but I sadly have to go or else I will be late," I say as I look at my watch
In the corner of my eye I can see Zara looking at my hands, is she checking me out? I am not sure but I like her looking at me and only me
She suddenly realizes she's been staring a little too long at me and says
" No problem we will see you later than" she smiles
God her smile is absolutely breathtaking
"Alright fill free to walk around or have Maria or Mia show you around" I smile and head towards the entrance of the garage
--------- at the meeting ---------
"How many shipments are you sending out," I ask
"We we're gonna send 50 but we decided it would be best to send them out in smaller amount since last time didn't go so well with the shipments," one of my men say
We have been talking about shipments and details for the mafia security for about the last 2 hours and I'm getting immensely bored
"Alright that's fine, just make sure someone contacts me when they receive all the shipments," I say
I start gathering all the paperwork I need to work on and head to my office
While I am doing the paperwork I can't help but think about Zara, her beautiful piercing blue eyes and that gorgeous long hair, and the way she smiles
Crap I need to get this paperwork done, FOCUS Enzo
It's been almost 40 minutes of me doing paperwork and I have had it with it all and just decide to call it a day and head home
As I get inside it's awfully quiet, I walk to the living room only to see Zara and Mia both cuddled up asleep on the couch, I walk over and make sure not to wake them, and turn the tv off
I turn to head up to my room for a shower but turn around just to take in the sight before me for a few more seconds
I can't help but smile at the sight.
Before they wake up and catch me staring, I quickly go upstairs for a shower and to change out of this suit
About 15 minutes later I am headed downstairs freshly showered in some sweats and a t-shirt
I head back to the living room to see Zara picking up Mia, I'm guessing to take up to her room
She sees me walk in and gets a bit startled and I see her eyes rake down my body and I can't help but smirk
She sees that I caught her and her cheek turn a tint of pink
"Hi I didn't know you got back" she whispers trying not to wake up Mia
"Ya I got back like 15 minutes ago," I say
"Sorry I didn't see you we fell asleep watching a movie" she shyly smiles
She's too adorable
"You're fine, how about we put Mia in her bed and we can talk about when I need you to watch her next, so you can see if you are free or not "
She just nods and she heads up to Mia's room
I can't help my eyes rake down her body as she walks up the stairs
GET IT TOGETHER Enzo stop staring at the girl's ass
I follow her up the stairs to Mia's room and admire her as she tucks her into bed
We go sit in the living room and I start talking
"Okay so I'm not too busy this month so you will just have to watch her about 2 maybe 3 times a week"
"Alright that's fine," she says "plus I don't mind watching her she's adorable"
"Yeah she is" I chuckle
I get up and grab the envelope I had ready this morning and hand it to her
"Ok that's your pay for the next month," I say
"Oh you don't have to pay me it's not that big of a deal," she says
That would be a first where a woman in my company has said no to money...
"You will take it, I know you took half the day off today and I am sure you will clear up your schedule to watch Mia even though you told me it was already clear"
"How did you know I took half the day off?" She asks
"I called the bakery" I shrug
I want to also say -And I'm also in the mafia so I have the power to know where you are at all times and what your doing- but I don't want to say that and scare her away
"Plus it's not that much money" I shrug
And it isn't, for the month I gave her 20k
Which is barely anything...now that I think of it I should've probably started with at least 35k....
"Are you sure I don't mind doing it for free?" she says
"No take the money or I'll have it transferred to your bank directly right now..either way you will have the money."I say
"Alright thank you," she says
We talk a little more about days she would need to watch her, and she realizes that it's getting late and she should head out
I wanted so badly to say for her to just stay here since it's already late but I bite my tongue
"Alright thank you for watching Mia I appreciate it Zara" I smile down at her
She's so cute and short I have to really look down to meet her eyes
"It's no problem I really like Mia" she smiles
"Hope you like her father as-well I hear he's pretty great" I chuckle lowly
I'm sorry I couldn't help it okay?
She laughs and says " yeah I like him he's pretty great too"
I think I just turned red...shit
I just chuckle at that trying to contain myself
We say one last goodbye before I close the door
And I head off to bed.
With the thought of a beautiful girl on my mind before darkness consumes me
