deadly games
dealer

THE NEWS OF MOMOKA BEING FHE WITCH SURPRISED EVERYONE, except you and Arisu. People found it hard to believe that she killed herself for the sake of a game.

"If I were the game master, I would come up with this idea." Arisu said, trying to convince the people and soon after, Aguni's leg hit him in the stomach.

"What the fuck? Aren't you sick of hitting him? Look at that pretty face of his! It's all covered in blood now." you said unpleased by Aguni's behavior.

"What a joke. I'm the witch! You guys want to kill me, right?" he asked loudly.

"If you want to die, just kill yourself. Don't make people do it for you." you didn't think too much about what you just said. Aguni caused an entire scene, where he went crazy hitting everyone. A lot of people jumped on Aguni to take him down, but he was almost unstoppable. He used his entire strength to hit everything in his way.

His loud scream was everything you could hear now. It was a painful scream to witness. It let out every type of negative emotion he held capture in his body since the day he killed Hatter. Aguni was devastated. He just wanted his best friend back.

"The Beach made him crazy. You guys made him crazy! I'm the witch!" people were still jumping on him and he pushed everyone away.

You took a short glance in Arisu's direction to see if he was alright. Asahi approached him and from the look on her face, it seemed like she had a plan. She told Arisu and Usagi something that you couldn't hear, because of the distance and noise. She then stood up confidently and walked in the middle of the lobby.

"Listen up, everyone!" her shout made everyone stop and turn their gazes on her. "I'm the dealer of this game." a red laser hit her straight in the head. That was something you didn't expect to happen. No one did.

"Interesting..." you said deep in thought, as you replayed in your head what just happened. Because of the silence, everyone heard what you said, however no one said anything else. Asahi's body fell on the floor, the impact caused noise.

You had no idea what just happened, but since it did, it won't take you long to find out. You nervously chuckled in this situation as you looked at the ceiling. While you did so, someone watching everything from a higher floor, caught your attention. Chishiya's lips were slightly parted, he was just as confused as you were. He felt your eyes on him, so the two of you held the eye contact for a little while.

"It was a reverse grip." Ann's voice made you take your eyes off of Chishiya. The beautiful woman, you met in your first game, was leaning on Kuina. Ann was holding up the knife that was inside Momoka earlier. "Fingerprints with a reverse grip were found on the knife."

"Why would she... kill herself for a game?" a random girl asked.

"Was Momoka really the game master?" another girl asked.

"That girl also said she's the dealer." a man was pointing at Asahi's dead body. "So were we just being toyed with by them?"

"No." you gave that man an answer. "Both of them were probably dealers, since they always hung out together. If Momoka was the game master, she wouldn't have killed herself just like that. The game master is too twisted and stubborn to do something like that." from the look on their faces, they seemed to agree with you.

"Aguni." Arisu tried to get the man's attention. You hoped he won't provoke him again. "Let's just stop this. Don't let the deaths of the innocents go to waste. I understand how it feels like to kill your friends. But we shouldn't take out our frustration on those who are still alive! We are still alive! We're all facing despair head-on and fighting until the very end! Don't look down on those who are still alive!" Arisu screamed while standing up once again. There was silence in the lobby. Everyone looked at him understanding.

"Very inspirational, Arisu... Should we go burn Momoka now? We're pretty much letting the time go to waste." you said, but everyone ignored you, keeping the silence. You sighed. Suddenly, a man screamed, ruining the moment of peace that Arisu restored.

  "The fire is spreading!"

"I told you all. We should've burned Momoka instead of chatting. But no one ever listens to me..." you said while everyone screamed 'run!'.

"Move the body to the Fire of Judgement!" Usagi shouted while pointing at Momoka.

  "Hurry up!" Kuina said.

"Finally..." you sighed once again. When people started to go and grab Momoka's body, a guy wearing a green t-shirt got hit by a bullet.

The sound of a gun invaded your ears. Are you fucking kidding me? You asked yourself, already exasperated. You knew who used to do that to guns before starting to shoot like a total maniac. He kept shooting people in the lobby, like he wasn't on fire just a short while ago.

"In the first place, I should have just burned down the Beach with the Fire of Judgement." Niragi said while holding a torch. The shirt he was wearing earlier, when Chishiya lit him up on fire, was now tied up on half of his face. The only holes made were for his eyes.

The crowd kept saying his name shocked that it was him. You were just as shocked that he survived such a burn. "With this, I'll clear the game!" he threw the torch and started to shoot people again. Panicked screams were heard all around the perimeter.

"How are you even still alive? For fuck's sake. Just die already!" you shouted while you were warying of the bullets. Usagi then, surprisingly, ran to Niragi and jumped on him to stop him. Arisu soon tried to help his girl, but Niragi hit his back as much as he could. Niragi pushed both of them away and they landed on each other on the floor. "Those burns suit you, by the way!" you built up courage to go in front of him. You two were now facing each other and that was stupid, seeing as he still held a gun and you were unarmed.

"You guys... I'll kill all of you!" your words seemed to have enraged him even more. He then pulled the trigger to shoot you, but someone received the bullets for you. Aguni went fastly in front of you and even though he already got shot multiple times by Niragi, he still ran to get to him. Once Aguni bumped into Niragi, he used all the strength he had left, to take Niragi away.

What just happened, left everyone speechless. Everyone kept staring at the spot where Aguni disappeared with Niragi. Including you. If Aguni wouldn't have jumped in front of you... you'd be dead now. And this time for good.

"There's no time!" Kuina shouted next to Ann and both of them ran to Momoka's body, followed by some more people.

You were still in a shock. Someone died while saving your life... you thought about what you said to Aguni earlier. You told him he had to repay you for saving his life back then. Was this his way of repaying you? If it was, you felt grateful, but also sick to your stomach.

While everyone was rushing outside to burn Momoka, you were still in the lobby. Arisu was there as well, but he was looking at Asahi's body. Arisu noticed a phone next to Asahi, but it wasn't a phone just for games. The screen of the phone showed that she was recording something. Arisu lowered his body to take the phone from the floor and then he turned to face you.

"Is everything okay? Are you hurt?" he asked while coming closer to you.

"I'm fine... Just Aguni. Why would he do that?"

"I don't know, but don't worry too much about it. It might sound selfish, but I'm thankful he did that, otherwise I would've lost you, too." Arisu said, while embracing you. You put your arms around him, hugging him back. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, loser." you smiled in his shoulder.

After the two of you let go of each other, Arisu put his arm around your shoulders. The members of the Beach were already gathered in front of the Fire of Judgement, watching Momoka burning. You and Arisu made your way through the people who looked emotionless at the fire. You placed your head on Arisu's right shoulder and you finally felt complete.

There were still two pieces missing, but you knew they were somewhere out there. Hopefully, one day you'll see them again. You were convinced that you will keep bickering with Karube and scold Chota for being immature. You missed them so much, their smiles were still a clear image in your head, but the thought of not being able to see new ones, pained you.

"Do you think they're proud of us?" you whispered to Arisu, so no one else would hear.

"Definitely. I also think they're planning how to murder Chishiya right now." he said and you smiled amused.

"Karube, Chota, don't worry. I'll do it myself. That motherfucker deserves it." you said while looking up to the sky.

Every phone started to make noise around the fire.

After the end of the game was officially announced, everyone started to leave the Beach's perimeter.
The 'utopia' Hatter created no longer existed. It was now turning into ashes and after tonight's game, no one wanted to be around the place any longer. It affected everyone in different ways.

You were next to Ann, watching from a distance with the others how the Beach kept burning. It didn't look like it'll stop anytime soon.

"I guess this is the end of our paradise." she said.

"It was never a paradise. Just an escape from the cruel reality." you replied and Ann didn't say anything else, but she knew you were right. It was nice while it lasted.

"Everyone died." Tatta's voice was shaking and then he started to cry, falling on his knees. Crying was a natural thing. It was normal and it helped people let out everything they held in themselves for so long. That's why you let Tatta cry, not even trying to help him stop sobbing.

Usagi screaming to Arisu to let her go, forced you to get your eyes off of Tatta. You were now looking at an angry Usagi, probably trying to get revenge at some militants. Arisu tried to stop her and it was good that he did. Now that the Beach was gone, the title of militant no longer existed.
One of the militants fell on his knees and put his gun to his chin. Was he really going to pull the trigger? Obviously not. The militants only did what they did for survival. You weren't too different from them. That's exactly what you did in your freshman year when you sided with the wrong people, only to not get physically hurt. But it affected you mentally. You started seeing yourself as a filthy human being, just like they did now.

You were looking back at Arisu and Usagi. Your best friend was now holding Usagi's hands, trying to calm her down. That caused a sad expression on your face, knowing that the only one you wanted to help you calm down, would never do it. You were extremely glad that Arisu finally liked someone, that seemed to like him back just as much.
Your eyes became a bit bigger when you saw Arisu collapsing. Usagi caught him, but you still walked closer to them. You stopped when you noticed that Arisu was still awake and Usagi was now comforting him. He probably felt very weak, after all the beating he got. The two of them hugged and you watched them with a faint approving smile on your face.

Will Chishiya ever start warming up to you? You hated yourself for even thinking about it.
