• joking about suicide
"I'll miss you dear" the older woman hugged her son very tightly.
She had that broken look in her eyes, that you have when someone leaves.
She pressed a wet kiss on his cheek and broke away from him.
The blonde wiped the kiss away from his cheek in disgust. "You only need 30 minutes to drive to my new apartment," he noted, praying secretly that his mother would finally let him go without any further complaints.
"When your father drives we need 50," laughed his mother.
Clay was actually very happy that his father wasn't home. He thought that saying goodbye to his mother was bad enough. She's kinda clingy but Clay feels like she forgets sometimes that she has another child. Okayyyy...his sister wasn't perfect. He even had to admit that she was a bit spoiled, but his mother exaggerated anyway.
"I'm so proud of you and your work Clay. If you need anything call me, okay? And if you want me to cook for you, you can always text me. And-" her son interrupted her.
"Yeah I'll, see you" Clay waved to his mother. "Oh no I'm talking to much again aren't I?" "kinda" he smiled before closing the door behind him. He sighed and pulled out a car key.
He opened the red car next to him and threw his bag on the rear. For a short moment he looked back at the house and then climbed in his car. The house was quite old but he grew up in it. It meant more to him than he wanted to admit.
He'll always remember how he chased his sister around the house because she ate his dessert or how he painted a picture for his mother at the last minute on Christmas that didn't dry out in time. His mother had colored fingers when she unpacked it or when he-...
Clay stopped his thoughts. It's time to leave, he'll be back soon and he didn't have to exaggerate, his mother has already done that enough for him.
A slight sad but proud smile formed on his face as he started his car and drove out of the driveway.
He knew he was now on his own. Even if his parents would visit him, he was sure that the start wouldn't be easy.
Play - Riptide by Vance Joy
Clay turned on the radio and let the music echo loudly through the car.
He raised an eyebrow. Riptide he hadn't heard this song in a while but he was even more impressed when he began to sing along with the song without any problems.
For him it was pretty clear why he still knew the lyrics. He has adhd.
He couldn't remember anything except lyrics of random songs he probably heard just once in his whole life.
Okay..., he could remember things but he often forgets little things. He once forgot to pick up his friends from the train station. They were so mad, Clay didn't even know it was a possibility.
This was one of the reasons why he started playing the guitar. It's just his hobby but it helps him to sort his thoughts.
A telephone ring interrupted him.
He turned the music down and checked his phone for a moment. Sapnap was written on the screen.
He wasn't supposed to be on the phone while driving, but he made an exception for Nick. He was his best friend and knew exactly how much the brunette hated it to wait.
"Hey Snapchat" he said as he answered the call. "Don't call me that!" the other males voice sounded angrily. "I'll do it anyway" Clay grinned even if the other couldn't see it. "Urgh, okay. Do whatever you want. Wanna play Minecraft later?"
"I don't think I can play today but we can play tomorrow if you want. You have at least time to practice then." Clay liked to tease the younger one. His reactions were always funny.
"I can't help it that you are this good." "Hm, if you think so. Look, I'm driving right now. I'll text you later, okay? " "Okay, don't die" Nick hung up immediately. Clay let his phone disappear in his pocket again and concentrated on the street. It didn't bother him that Nick had hung up so quickly, he didn't even say goodbye. He always does that. At the beginning he always thought he did something wrong but now he knows that Nick was just different.
The last 15 minutes passed slowly but at some point Clay finally arrived at his destination. He turned into Crownstreet and stopped his car on the side of the road. He leaned back and pulled out his bag only to get out.
The cold air immediately enveloped him. It was a mystery to him how the air could be so different to the air at his parents home. The temperature there was much higher. Fog was in the air and made the street fall into a questionable cold.
Temperatures like this don't normally exist in Florida, maybe in England but here? no. Clay had just given up questioning it.
He looked up at the white stone wall in front of him. The sixth floor. What was he thinking when he bought the apartment?
He walked a few steps to a dark wooden door that gave him the way to the stairwell.
Clay pushed the door open and immediately went upstairs.
Already after the fourth flight of stairs he was out of breath.
Breathing heavily, he arrived on the penultimate floor.
All of his neighbors were a bit older and Clay had already spoken to some of them. The most of them told him not to worry about anything.
Most of the people in the house are hard of hearing and nobody would hear his noises.
One of the oldest said if he ever brought a girl home, he should introduce her to her.
He didn't wanted to explain to the lady that he was bi-sexual and that he wasn't in a relationship at the moment, so he promised her that he would just keep her up to date.
Clay entered the apartment and tossed his bag next to the umbrellas, followed by his shoes.
He let the door shut and slided down the narrow corridor past two doors that led to the kitchen and living room.
Yes. He slided.
Grinning, he ran off, only to slide a few meters to his bedroom door.
When he got into his room, he immediately threw himself on the bed. What would be the first thing he do in his own apartment? Cook? Was he even hungry at all? no. Without any ideas, he pulled out his phone. No notifications.
He sat up with a sigh, looking around briefly. His room was kept very simple. The bed was in the middle of the right wall when you walk in. To the left was his gaming setup, which he needed for youtube. Opposite was a wardrobe and a few pictures of him and his friends.
Sapnap and Purpled could be recognized with a smile on one of them. Sapnap had a young brown cat in his arm. Patches was Clay's own cat. She had taken the place of Smokey, a black and white cat Clay grew up with. Patches was a bit older by now and was with Sapnap until he had made the house cat-safe.
But what he liked best at this apartment was the balcony. It was covered with plants and looked out onto a slightly older house. If you looked down the street to the right between the houses, you could see the sunset perfectly. That was the real reason he chose the sixth floor.
When he looked out of the window he could see a figure in the fog. He was pretty sure it was his neighbour. He never really talked to him. It was a young man around Clays age. He always wore old stuff. Clay wasn't sure what it is exactly but if he needed to guess he would say it's vintage.
The boy had brunette middle long hair and always had a cup of tee in his hand. He stood on his own balcony every evening just watching the sunset and somehow Clay started doing it too.
Because of the fog he could hardly see the boy today. Clay was a bit disappointed about that. He would give anything to get to know him. He's the only one here that isn't 30 years older than him.
If he only knew.
Clay looked at his PC. He could stream but Sapnap would definitely kill him. The thought of Sapnap screaming at the older just because he started to stream got more and more fun in Clays head.
He got up and walked over to his Computer. He sat up a few things and started the stream. Some "hiiii Dreammmm" massages popped up.
"Hey guys!" he said joining one of his Minecraft servers.
It didn't take more than 4 minutes until someone joined the discord call.
Clay waited for a scream or anything else but no. It wasn't Sapnap who joined him.
"HEY BIG D!!" Tommy said excited. "I said you need to stop calling me that Tommy," Clay hold back a laugh. "But where is the fun if I would?" "I don't care about your fun," Clay put his character in creative mode.
"But I do! So I'm definitely not gonna stop." Clay growled annoyed but the chat seemed to enjoy it.
"Oh! Oh! Did I tell you that Phil and I decided to make rodeo?" Clay didn't knew how this kid could have so much energy. "Rodeo?" the older asked confusedy, lifting a brow.
"Yeah! We wanted something spacial for Snowchester and I thought rodeo would be a great idea! What do you think?" Clay sighed. He hated the idea but didn't want to disappoint the younger one.
"Can't you guys just built a ice dragon or something?"
Another sound came from discord and seconds later Phil started to talk. "I'm so sorry Dream. He had coffee and we-" he got interrupted. "Two cups coffee Phil" Tommy corrected him. "Whatever. He was in a talk with me and Techno. When he saw you're streaming, he decided to get the attention he needs," Phil laughed softly.
"It's fine. Just get the child and fuck off. Oh...and no rodeo!" Clay laughed. "Oww common man," Tommy whined. "No he's right Tommy. Get your energy and talk to me and Techno. Dream is streaming," Phil left, taking Tommy with him.
Now it was quiet. Dream didn't knew what he could say so he just started running around in game and placed random blocks which he then used to jump on. "Rodeo what a weird idea," he chuckled to himself but still nothing happened.
"Uhm...Chat ask me some questions," he said waiting for the first dono.
"Last massage between you and Sapnap?" he read out. "I actually don't know we normally just call eachother. I'll look wait" he stopped his character and took his phone. He laughed. "Oh, he just texted me," the blonde opened their chat.
"He says I'm a bitch and I should kill myself. Uh...yeah about that," he laughed weirdly. "I said I wouldn't play with him today. Looks like he doesn't like that I stream." The chat started spaming things like LMAO or LET HIM PLAY WITH YOU.
"I'll ask him if he wants to join" Clay send the massage and started playing the game again.
"How's patches doing? You need to ask Sapnap that. I don't know. I hope she's good and if not Sapnap needs to wish me more than just to kill myself," Clay was startled when Nick suddenly spoke. "She's perfect! Her life is better than my fucking own." "God damnit Sapnap!" A harsh laugh escaped the brunette.
