One of the most visited tourist site of Delhi is Qutub Minar. The tallest tower of India is of 73M in height. It is said that the construction of the tower started in 1199 by Qutub uddin Aibak and was finished in 1220 by his son in law Iltutmish.
It is said that this monument was made to celebrate the defeat of the last Hindu ruler of Delhi Samrat Prithvi Raj Chauhan and the establishment of Muslim Dominance.
At least this is what was taught to us right ? About Qutub Minar the Indo-Islamic architecture ?
It is said that the Qutub Minar was made because Mohammad Ghori defeated Samrat Prithvi Raj Chauhan making delhi his capital.
BUT ! Ghori never had his capital at Delhi. His capital was at Ghazni. What logic is there in building the Victory Tower in Delhi ?
Even if the Minar was commenced by Ghori, its name ought to have been ‘GHORI MINAR’ and not ‘QUTUB MINAR’.
Some may argue that maybe the slave of Ghori, Qutub uddin Aibak laid foundation stone that's why it's called Qutub Minar.
But when the tower was 'started' to be made, Ghori was still alive then how can his slave lay the foundation stone ? After the death of Ghori, Qutub uddin Aibak became the king but again his capital was at Lahore and not delhi.
Now if Ghori's capital was at Ghazni, and Aibak's capital was at Lahore then why was the victory tower made at Delhi ?
And let me tell you, the name Qutub Minar was not there in contemporary history of India. It was a much recent fabrication.
Ok but thousand years have passed we don't know the actual situation that would have happened.
We shall discuss with something that is present right in front our eyes, the so called 'Indo-Islamic' architecture of Qutub Minar.
As a fine arts student who has studied Indian architectures in detail last year, let's analyse the architecture of Qutub Minar.
What's this doing on Qutub Minar ? This is clearly a picture of a YAKSH or GANDHARV in a YOGIC posture.
This cannot be there in Indo-islamic architecture because of two reasons.
1) There are no Yaksh, Gandharv etc in Islamic traditions and Yoga is clearly a Sanatan concept.
2) Creating realistic human figures in painting or sculptures is considered a sin in Islam because they believe only God has the power of creation and a human making figures like this is challenging the power of god.
See, Gandharvas and Apsaras with musical instruments. And I suppose music also to a lot of extent is a sin in Islam then why this ?
There are also carving of bells found in Qutub Minar, but they prohibited in Islam.
Now in the above picture if you see the inscriptions of Qutub Minar. You will see that it looks very forced as if added later to hide something.
You can clearly see flowers in between inscriptions. You know what flower it is ? Lotus. And this flower is significant in Sanatan Dharm not Islam.
We all know that Mohammad Ghori and Qutub uddin Aibak wanted to eradicate Sanatan Dharma from India. Then why does Qutub Minar have Hindu symbols !?
These were the ones who destroyed our temples so why would they use hindu symbols in their own architecture !?
The truth is that this is not Qutub Minar, this the DHRUV STAMBH, the central observation tower of ancient Hindu Astronomical Observatory.
From the top Qutub Minar looks like lotus with 24 petals, each representing an hour a complete day.
The 24-petalled architectural lotus flower is purely a Hindu concept. It cannot be attributed to any Muslim king from dry parts of Western Asia where lotuses do not grow.
The Dhruv Stambh can be attributed to Vikramaditya aka Chandragupta II. In his court there was an astronomer Mihira after whom Mehrauli was named, the same place where 'Qutub Minar' is.
It is said that the Dhruv Stambh was used by mathematicians, technicians, and astronomers as an observation post for astronomical study. Around the tower were pavilions dedicated to the 27 constellations of the Hindu Zodiac.
You know a fun fact ? In an inscription of Qutub uddin Aibak has said that he had destroy these pavilions but he never said anywhere that he built a tower, the so called 'Qutub Minar'.
And as I had told earlier there in no mention of 'Qutub Minar' in contemporary history, it's a much recent fabrication. 🙃🙃
