Leilanis POV:
After Zade left last night I cleaned up our dishes and went back to my room and fell asleep. My pillows and blankets smell like him now. When I woke up I checked my phone and saw a text from dad and it said, "Hey my beautiful girl, Carlos and I won't be back until late thursday night. I'm so sorry! Love you!" I sighed at his text and texted him back saying it was okay.
I texted Caylie to see what she was doing today but she told me that she was hanging out with Derek, I guess today will be a day I spend with myself. I got ready and headed to my car. I got in and saw a little piece of paper in my window wipers. I looked around and saw no one outside so I decided to drive down the road because being a girl is scary and you never know when someones gonna pop out and take you.
I honestly hate being a girl. I drove about 2 minutes away and parked my car on the side of the road and got out. I picked up the piece of paper and started to unfold it. "I keep forgetting to give you my number so here it is- Zade" At the bottom of it there was a number.
I internally screamed and got back into the driver's seat. I put the number in my phone and texted it. "Hey, this is Leilani." I sent the text and started to put in the address to the place Zade took me to yesterday morning. It said it was gonna be a 15 minute drive so I put my phone down and started to go. I jammed out to some Finneas and Harry Styles.
Once I pulled in I saw Zades truck at the back of the diner and I was kind of confused. "Why would Zade be here right now?" I thought to myself. Well it is his life so I don't want to text him and ask him. Maybe he's here with another girl. I shook that thought from my head and got out of my car and made my way to the door. I walked in and immediately smelled the scones.
I got sat and started looking at the menu. After 10 minutes a server walked over to me and when I looked up I made eye contact with Zade. We were both shocked I'm guessing because his mouth was open a tiny bit. "Hi..." I said trying to make it less awkward than it was. "Lani, what are you doing here by yourself?" He asked as he sat down in the chair across from me.
"Well to start off my dad and Carlos aren't gonna be home until Thursday night so I'm gonna be by myself till then. But do you work here? And if so you shouldn't be sitting. You should be working and earning your money." I looked at him and saw a small smile on his face. "I'm sorry they're gonna be gone that long. Yes I work here, it's a family business so I have the hours I can work so I'm calling it my break right now. But now that I know you're gonna be alone today I'm coming over after my shift ends and I'm gonna take you somewhere."
He left no room for me to say no because he got up and walked away. Since it's a Sunday morning there's not a lot of people here, I'm guessing there at church. After he left I started looking at the menu again because I don't know what I want. 5 minutes later Zade came back with four plates full of food. There's no way I'm going to eat all that.
He set everything down and sat across from me again. I looked at him strangely and he shrugged his shoulders and said, "What? It's my lunch break." He grabbed a scone and started devouring it.
After I had a scone and some hash browns and Zade had 3 scones, 2 eggs, 5 sausages, and 3 plates of hash browns we were both ready to unbutton our pants. "How much do I need to pay for?" I asked as I grabbed my card from my wallet. Zade shot me a look but ignored it. I handed him my card but he reached over the table, grabbed my whole wallet and stuffed it back in there.
I rolled my eyes again and started to pick up the mess I made from shoving food into my face. Zade again reached over the table but this time he grabbed my hands and put them in my lap and he started to clean the table off. I sat there quietly watching him and felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I grabbed it out and looked at it and saw that Caylie texted me.
"Hey, are you doing anything later today?" "Yea, Zade said he was gonna take me somewhere." I replied back to her. "Ooooooo, you have to tell me everything tomorrow at lunch okay?" she said. "Okay I will. Talk to you later!" I said as I put my phone back into my pocket.
"Who was that?" Zade asked as he got back from putting the dishes into the kitchen. "Caylie, she was wondering what I was doing today." I shrugged. "What did you tell her?" he asked as I stood up and he handed me my wallet that was sitting on the table. "I told her I have plans with you." I said as I looked up and smiled at him.
He looked back down and smirked as he turned away and started walking to the door of the restaurant. I followed him out and he stood at the front of my car. "What should I wear when we go out?" I asked as I unlocked my car. "Something to keep you warm. I'm planning on keeping you out till the sun gets down." He said with a small chuckle as I climbed into my car and buckled up. "Goodbye Zade." I said as I looked at him now leaning on my window so he could still see me.
He grabbed my chin and tilted my head up a tiny bit more and said, "goodbye Leilani, see you soon." I blushed as he said that. I tried to hide it the best I could but what am I supposed to do when his hand is grabbing my chin. He slowly let go of me and walked back into the diner. That man was gonna be the death of me.
On my way home I rocked out to some Taylor Swift. Her new album, Red Taylor's version is to die for. Freak Jake Gyllenhaal he can suck my butt. Once I got home I changed into some baggy jeans and a baggy sweatshirt. To be honest I'm kind of nervous about what Zade has planned. At 2:45 p.m. the doorbell rang and I knew it was Zade.
When I opened it I saw him standing there with a bouquet of white roses. I don't think I've ever wanted to scream more in my life. My cheeks flushed red and I brought my hands up to my face. I peaked out from behind them and saw a smirk on his face. I took the roses from his hand and opened the door wider for him to come in. "So what I had planned for today got canceled at the last minute but I rescheduled for it in 2 weeks so be ready.
But we can do something else if you want." He said as I had him grab down a vase that was on the top shelf. I filled it up with water and cut the flowers then plopped them in there. "We could also go back to my house since you haven't been there yet." He suggested and I smiled and nodded. I've been wondering what his house looks like.
On the way over I realized that I've never been to a boys house besides Miles. Miles doesn't really even count as a boy to me. I told him that once and he got mad and said he would never talk to me again. 5 minutes later there he is talking my ear off but it's okay because I love him with all my heart. We pulled into a driveway and I finally looked up. This house was as big as Miles', maybe even bigger.
When he stopped the truck I opened my door but then remembered I'd break an ankle if I jumped out. I waited for Zade to walk to my side and help me out. I followed him into the mansion-like house and immediately was in aw. 2 dogs came running towards me and I've never been happier in my life. "Princess, Roman, down."
Zade said and they could care less because the golden retriever jumped on me causing me to fall backwards. Zade caught me before I could fall and helped me balance again. "ZADEEEEEEEE!" I heard what sounded like a little girl scream from upstairs.
"To warn you, my family is a lot." Zade said as a girl that looked to be around 5 or 6 rounded the corner and jumped on Zade. He caught her and she snuggled into his chest. I let out a small laugh and she whipped around to look at me. "Mommy! Zade brought a girl home!!" She said as Zade set her back onto the floor.
A woman rounded the corner and stopped in her tracks. This lady was beautiful from head to toe. This had to be his mom. "Oh my god I never thought I'd see the day." She said as she walked up to me. "You are gorgeous. Zade you found a good one." His mother said as she pulled me into a hug. Zade laughed a little bit and rubbed the back of his neck.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Leilani Hernandez." I said as I pulled back. His mom just smiled at me and looked at her son before walking away and dragging his little sister with her. "Let's go to my room." He said
We went up to his room and to say that it wasn't weird to be in a boys room, alone would be a complete lie. I was freaking out on the inside. For the next 6 hours we talked and joked and watched a movie and around 9:30 I asked him to take me home. "Thank you for today." I said as he pulled into my driveway.
"Yea it was no problem. Hopefully you'll get to meet my family better. My mom was cooking dinner so that's why she left after you introduced yourself." He said as he got out of the truck to help me out. He lifted me out and followed me to my front door. "Goodnight Lani." He said as he grabbed the right side of my face. "Goodnight Zade." I said.
He slowly leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my lips. We pulled back and then walked away. WHAT THE FREAK JUST HAPPENED. I hurried and unlocked the house and ran inside and ran to my room after locking the door again. Did me and Zade really just kiss? I can't wait for the dance this weekend.
