Celeste Reed.
She's all I could think about. Her name played in my mind like a broken record twenty four hours.
All my life, I wanted someone to just be with me. There were my grandparents, they never treated me like Marissa and Pete did. They treated me like their own blood but like every other thing, they left too. When I thought I still had Caden, they took him away too. It was imprinted in my mind time by time that no one will ever love me, Caden proved them wrong so they did what they could do the best, took him away. I wished they gave me up for adoption but it was always about their reputation.
By the time I got older, the hope of someone even like me died. Everyone was fake. People who laughed at me when my company was in losses wanted to be my friend when it became one of the top companies slowly. Alec stuck with me even on the days when I couldn't feed myself let alone have a roof on my head. His family treated me better than my own, or what was supposed to be my own did. I'm happy that he punched me in kindergarten. I'm happier that he sent that one resume to me because he thought I needed it more.
If not for him, I would've been sleeping in my office with an empty stomach and no one to come home to. He's never going to hear this from me but he's the reason I have Celeste today.
"All done." I snapped out of my thoughts as she looked up at me, her blue eyes shining in excitement. I looked down at the scribblings she did on my chest.
"Click a picture?" I asked.
"Yes!" She jumped up to get her phone. She wanted to draw on my chest because it looked empty to her. She clicked a few pictures before showing them to me.
"They look great." I tell her.
"They do?" She smiled.
"Yeah." I replied, her smile only getting wider. I swear everything brightens when she smiles, which makes me smile back.
"I love your smile." She says.
I love you.
She kept the phone aside. "You know what happened in..." She proceeded to tell me about her day. It's hard to concentrate on what she's saying sometimes. It feels like a dream, what if I woke up and she's back to hating me?
"Chase?" She said my name, breaking me out of my reverie.
"Yes darling?"
I love how she gets all flustered when I call her with a pet name. She brings her hands up to her cheeks, covering the red.
"Are you listening to me?" She asked after coming back to reality.
"Yeah. You were telling me about your day." I tell her.
"No silly, I was telling you about the apartments I shortlisted. I'll give Luke a call to see them today. It was so diffic-"
"Move in with me." I interrupt her. Why is she thinking about leaving me? Does she not like living with me? Do I make her uncomfortable?
She opens her mouth to say something but closes it. "I already live with you, It's time to look for an apartment. Luke said it's better than renovating the first one. I don't want you to get bored of me y'know? We should have some space from each other. We see each other the whole day." She says.
"I'll sleep in the guest room." I offer. I can sleep in the guest room if she doesn't want to see my face the whole day, she doesn't have to leave. Does she?
"No Chase, try to understand. Don't you think we're moving to fast in this relationship?" She asks. I want to marry you.
"No."
"You're an idiot. I have to get ready." She says, getting up from me.
"Do you hate living with me?" I ask.
"No god, no. It's nothing like that. We'll talk about this later." She said disappearing out of the room.
I covered my eyes with my arm. Great, she's tired of me too. Why do I always have to fuck up every good thing in my life? I thought others were the problem, I guess the main problem is me.
I move my hand as I feel the fat fucker sit on my chest as if he owns it. "Get off Pico." I tell him, he licks my chin instead of going away.
"Your mama is leaving me, you don't wanna join her?" I ask him, he looks at me like he understands everything I'm saying.
"Do you hate living with me too?" I ask. He snuggles closer. I guess he likes me a little?
"Will you stay with me buddy? I know I didn't treat you well but I don't think I can handle being alone again." I tell him. He licks my cheek before moving to my shoulder.
Do I fall sick? Will that make her stay with me for a few days more?
After what feels like eternity, she comes back to our room but with tears flowing through her eyes, making me sit up. I was about to rush to her but she already ran into my arms. Pico was quick to leave the bed.
"Are you okay? You can leave, I won't stop you. Don't cry please." I try to pull her back to wipe her tears but she hugs tighter. I hate to be the one making her cry. Was one time not enough?
"Shut up. I'm not leaving you ever. We were just talking about the apartment. I'm not breaking up with you." She scolds, hitting my back. "It's Luke. He doesn't want to stay with me." She sniffles.
"Why?" I ask. Does it make me the bad guy if I say I'm happy?
"He's back with Malea and she's not comfortable with me sharing the apartment with him. He even ignored my calls for two days." She tells me.
"You don't have to stay with him. Move in with me, completely." I say.
"But Melissa said we're moving too fast." She exclaims, her voice husky from all the crying.
"I don't like her. Stop listening to her, she's not good for you." I tell her. They started talking again a couple of weeks ago. She's just a manipulative bitch.
"But you will get fed up of living with me-"
"Shut up." I cut her off. She bites my neck, getting annoyed. "Don't tell me to shut up." She says.
"So will you?" I ask.
"What?"
"Move in with me?" I ask. She looks up at me, her arms still around mine. Can we stay like this forever? I don't think I'll ever get tired of looking into her eyes. Is she aware of how she makes me feel weird things inside?
She looks like she's thinking of her answer. Please say yes, I don't think I would manage to live without her now. "Okay." She says after a minute, nodding.
"Yeah?" I couldn't help the stupid smile that comes on my face. How does she manage to do that? I'll never know.
"Yeah." She replies. Her tears all dried now and her lips pulled up into her beautiful smile. Good.
"Te quiero." I tell her.
"What does that mean?" She asks, her nose scrunching up in confusion.
"Thankyou." I say.
"How do you say you're welcome?" She asks.
"Like this." I tell her, lifting up her chin and pressing my lips to hers. Everytime my lips touch hers, it's like I'm having my first kiss all over again. It just gets better everytime. She can take my every first thing from me, I'll be thankful.
