Spencer placed her palm on the side of Remus' face, running her thumb up and down across his cheek bone.
"Couldn't sleep?" he yawned.
"How'd you know?"
"You're rarely awake before me, plus you're a heavy sleeper. It takes a lot for you to wake up" he opened his eyes.
"Yeah... couldn't sleep"
Remus brought her body closer, placing kisses on her neck.
Spencer chuckled at the feeling.
"So, ready to talk?"
"I don't know what to say" she shrugged.
"How about we start off with how you're really feeling" he ran his hand through her hair.
"Like shit" she admitted. "It'll pass, don't worry" she smiled.
"I'll always worry about you" he shook his head.
"Well don't worry about this" she nodded. "Harry is enough" she chuckled.
"Harry, Harry" he shook his head with a smile.
"Do you want to know what he said to me?"
"What did he say?"
"I was mad and wanted him to leave but he wouldn't budge. He was all like 'Shoot and kill me with your words Spencer, but I am not leaving you'" she recited. "Pretty sure he read that somewhere" he chuckled.
"Do your words shoot to kill when you're mad?" Remus asked.
"You heard what I said to my father" she nodded.
"Yeah" he realized.
"So did he, you know?" she played with his hair.
"Oh?"
"Yeah, that's why-"
"We think you're suicidal" he finished for her.
Spencer smiled awkwardly. "We also ate Chinese food for dinner" she added.
"I'd rather not ask how you got Chinese food" he chuckled.
"He asked about you"
"Regarding?"
"More specifically your role as my boyfriend" she chuckled.
"Ah" he smirked.
"He just wants to know everything" she chuckled.
"He's a kid and he loves you. Of course he does" he kissed her. "Ready to take on the day?" he whispered.
"Ready as I'll ever be" she nodded.
"Have breakfast with me?" he asked as he sat up.
"Do you even have any food here?"
He shrugged.
Spencer scrunched her nose.
"I'll make breakfast shirtless" he rolled his eyes.
"Okay" she smiled.

"Hello" Snape said as she walked into his classroom.
"Hey" she sat down.
He continued to do his work.
Spencer looked around his classroom. "Do you feel bad for me?"
"Would you like me to feel bad for you?" he asked.
"Yeah, just a little" she answered with a shrug.
"Fine"
"Hey" Andrew said as he walked in. "Knew I'd find you in here" he looked from Snape to her.
He got closer to her, kissing her head.
"Come" he grabbed her hand.
Spencer followed him out of the room.
"Where are we going?" she chuckled.
"Nowhere" he stopped walking.
"Hey" Fred said.
"Hey" she looked at him and George.
"How are you?" Andrew asked.
"Why does this feel like an intervention? I'm not on drugs" she chuckled.
"Just checking up on you" George said.
"I'm good, great even" she nodded. "Oh" she said once she realized the people walking by were whispering. "People are talking about me aren't they"
"Not a surprise is it? Ow! Sorry" Fred said as Andrew hit him with his elbow.
"Guys it's fine" she rolled her eyes. "Now Andrew, I believe we have a potions class to get to?"
"Yes" he answered.
"Bye" she smiled at the twins.
"Not cool" she murmured.
"Yeah yeah" he chuckled. "You know we love you"
"Whatever" she said before they went in the classroom.
Spencer went on with her day, noticing the stares but deciding to ignore them. In between classes people would whisper beside her, this made her decide she would skip lunch.
She walked to Snape's classroom, "can I stay with you?" she asked walking closer.
"I- what?" he looked up from his work.
"Can I stay with you? pleaseee" she placed her book bag on a desk.
"Of course" he said too enthusiastic.
"Really" she smiled.
"No" he answered quickly.
"Please," she pleaded, "I don't want to go back there." Spencer walked up to his desk, "you don't know what it's like to be considered a freak" she said before him. "Well... maybe you do- but that's not-"
"Out" he pointed to the door.
"You got to let me stay!"
"Last I remember you have your very own personal quarters, and I am far too busy to act like I care about the conversation we're bound to have" he stood up.
"But-"
Snape grabbed her book bag, "No "buts" you-"
"Ha-" she snorted a laugh, "you said butt."
He sighed, "I'm busy. Go bother someone else" he handed her the bag.
"Why do you hate me?"
"Number of reasons really" he held his hands together.
"You are the worst dad ever!" she groaned as she left the room.
As she walked back to her room she thought about how she wished Melissa had spoken with her, but she didn't see her at all.
As she took her shoes off she decided to take a nap before her next class.
She yawned throughout her classes, taking small 10 second naps between her blinks.
"Where are you?" Remus asked her.
"Sorry?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Class ended 5 minutes ago" he said as he looked through the pile of completed homework he just received.
"Oh" she looked around her classroom, realizing it was the end of the day.
"Go get dressed and meet me at the front of the castle" he hit her arm with the stack softly.
"Why?" she asked getting up.
"Our date"
"You want to go on a date with me... right now?"
"Yeah why not?" he smiled. "I was going to take you out on Saturday but why not now?"
"Why not now" she chuckled. "Fine" she smiled.
Spencer walked up to her room, dropping her bag, and excitingly getting ready.
She exited her room, stopping in her tracks as the corner of her eye saw the envelope.
She ignored it and walked out of her home, waiting for Remus at the front of the castle.
"Hi" he whispered behind her.
"Hey" she smiled.
"Ready?"
"Yeah"
Remus pointed his head out of the castle, Spencer followed him.
"So where are we going Professor?" she asked.
"You'll have to find out"
"Lame" she replied.
"Yes" he agreed.
The two walked into the muggle town nearby, holding hands.
Spencer looked at the lights hung up.
"Where are we going?" she looked back at him.
"Just a bit more" he replied and continued to walk.
Spencer shook her head with a smile as she followed him.
They turned a corner and soon Christmas rides and decorations were taking over their eyes. A park that suddenly seemed like a Christmas theme park.
"I thought we were poor?" she faced him.
"I made a friend" he shrugged.
"You don't make friends" she shook her head, lightly chuckling.
"Fine, I may or may not have charmed the workers to-"
"Remus!" she hit his shoulder.
"I was kidding" he chuckled. "It's the end of Christmas, they usually bring the prices down"
She shook her head again, looking back at the town.
"Wow" she smiled.
Remus looked at her, smiling at her smile.
"Yeah... wow" he nodded.
Spencer turned back to face him. She brought his face closer to hers, kissing him as he placed his hands on her waist.
"Thank you for this" she whispered.
"We haven't done anything yet" he shook his head.
"You know what I mean" she lightly punched his chest.
"I do" he smiled.
They played carnival games together. Honestly a waste of money in Spencer's opinion, but Remus was too happy.
In a ring toss stand, Remus ended up winning a small penguin for Spencer.
"Smile" Remus said as he brought out her camera.
"Stop stealing my stuff"
"Smile" he repeated, chuckling.
Spencer placed the penguin next to her face before Remus took the picture.
"It was this or the Polaroid" he put the camera back in his jacket. "Safest bet was this."
"Wait we need one together" she grabbed his arm.
"I can take it for you guys" the worker offered.
"Thanks" Spencer smiled.
Remus handed him the camera as Spencer placed the penguin between them.
"Say cheese"
"Cheese" they said with a smile.
"Thank you" Remus shook the worker's hand.
"Not a problem" he nodded.
"Ice skating?" Remus asked.
"Yeah" she smiled.
Remus and Spencer walked over to the rink and rented some skates.
Spencer stepped onto the ice, beginning to skate.
"Don't leave me behind" Remus said behind her.
"Gotta catch up old man" she smirked.
"Oh you little-" Spencer heard Remus say but she continued to skate away.
Remus finally caught up to her, grabbing her by the waist.
Spencer chuckled but then stopped as his skate hit the back of hers, causing her to trip.
She fell slightly forward, Remus held onto her waist tighter and pulled her back.
He brought her up and caught onto the wall.
Spencer chuckled as she caught her breath.
"You did that on purpose" she shook her head.
"Maybe" he shrugged.
"You can't be my knight in shining armor if you're the one stirring up trouble" she shook her head with a smile.
"Either way I get the girl?"
"Either way you get the girl" she pet his face. "Race you?"
"First to do 3 laps wins?"
Remus nodded, Spencer pushed him off and began skating.
Remus chuckled as she saw her skate away. Finally, he skated himself.
Spencer completed two laps and decided to look behind her.
Soon, she figured out, that would be a mistake.
A little girl was in front of her, both unaware of each other.
Spencer saw Remus' eyes widened, she faced forward confused.
She gasped as she felt the girl's body on her legs.
She yanked her by the hat on her jacket and carried her so she would land on her chest as they fell.
The girl started crying as they hit the floor.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry" Spencer tried to comfort the girl. "Are you okay?" Remus asked the girl as he caught up to them.
The girl only continued to cry.
"Are you okay?" Remus asked Spencer.
"Yeah" she nodded, sitting up.
"Hey, where are your parents?" she asked the girl on her lap.
"It's okay, it's okay" she tried to comfort her as the girl continued to cry. "We'll find them" she nodded.
Spencer stood up, carrying the child on her hip.
"Take off my skates?"
Remus nodded as they headed out. Spencer sat on the bench as Remus took them off.
"Do you recognize anyone?" she asked.
The little girl shook her head as she wiped her face.
Spencer bit her lip and looked toward Remus.
"Ok, don't worry" she pet the girls' hands.
Remus sat next to Spencer, taking his skates off.
"Look" Remus showed the girl the penguin. "Here take it" he waved it side to side.
"Hey!" Spencer whispered.
"I'll win you another one" he said through his teeth, smiling at the girl.
"It's okay, penguins don't bite" Spencer told her.
"Dada said not to take things from strangers" she sniffled.
"Dada" Spencer looked at Remus, now knowing they are looking for a man.
"My name is Remus and Spencer is holding you" he pointed at her with the penguin. "Now were not strangers anymore. We just want to help you find dad" he nodded. "What's your name?"
"Eliza" the girl sniffled as she nodded and took the penguin.
"Bye bye frosty" Spencer shook her head.
"You named him?" Remus chuckled.
"Duh" she smiled.
"How about we play a game?" she asked Eliza.
"What game?"
"Search and rescue" Spencer answered.
"I don't know how to play that one" she shook her head.
"Oh, it's super easy! Remus and I have played it loads of times" Spencer nodded. "We've already completed the rescue part, we found you" she raised and lowered her legs, making Eliza giggle.
"Now all we have to do is search for dada" she added.
"Why is it called search and rescue if rescue is done first?"
"Well to be honest Eliza, Remus over here didn't think much about the name" Spencer chuckled.
"Also, it sounds better as search and rescue instead of rescue-"
Spencer pretended to snore, making Eliza giggle.
Spencer fake woke up, looking at Remus who was trying hard to hide his laugh. "So, does that game sound good Eliza?"
"Yeah" Eliza giggled.
"Okay" Spencer smiled.
Spencer stood up, placing Eliza on her hip.
"C'mon John, we have a job to do" she smiled.
"You are so not Sherlock" he shook his head, standing up.
Spencer gasped, "you are no longer John, keep up Gavin" she shook her head and walked away.
Remus chuckled as he caught up. "It's Greg" he replied.
"Graham?" Spencer asked, a smirk on her face.
"Okay Eliza, do you remember what your dad was wearing?" Remus asked.
"A jacket" she nodded.
"Well- yes," he chuckled, "do you know the color?"
"Black"
"That's the best you could ask Giles?" Spencer asked. Remus shook his head, "how about your dads hair color? Is he also a blonde?"
"Nope. Brown" she shook her head.
"That's the best you could ask?" he mimicked.
"Eliza?" Remus heard someone yell.
"How about we try going that way?" he asked.
"Shouldn't we go in a circle? Just so we know the places we've-"
"Eliza" Spencer heard someone yell.
Spencer followed the sound, "Dada!" Eliza said as a man approached them.
"Eliza" he grabbed get from Spencer. "Don't do that again" he held her tight. "What have I said about leaving"
"I wanted to skate" she replied.
"Thank you so much for," the man tried to say but he cut himself off, "Spencer" he said as he looked up.
Spencer looked at the man and the daughter, comparing their faces.
"I knew I recognized her from somewhere" she chuckled.
"Yeah" he chuckled, looking back at his daughter and kissing her head. "How are you?"
"Good yeah" she nodded.
Remus cleared his throat.
"Oh sorry," she chuckled, "Mason this is Remus. Remus, Mason" Spence reintroduced them.
"Pleasure" Remus smiled.
"All mine" Mason nodded.
"I thought you were-"
"We wanted to check it out" Spencer smiled.
"Oh this is-"
"This is we" she nodded with a chuckle.
"Remus is nice" Eliza spoke.
"Is he now?" Mason asked, looking down at his daughter.
"Yeah, he gave me frosty" Eliza showed the penguin to her dad, Spencer smiled.
"Did you say thank you?"
"Thank you, Remus" Eliza smiled.
"You're welcome, Eliza" he wrapped his arm around Spencer.
"Don't worry about it," she looked at Mason, "he's going to win me another one. Right?" she looked at Remus.
"Right" he smiled.
"You saved me a paper right?" Spencer asked Mason.
"Y-yeah. Of course I did" he smiled.
"Great" she smiled.
"Yeah" he nodded.
"Well, we better get going" she spoke.
"Yeah, of course, hey thanks man" he held out his hand to Remus.
"Not a problem" he nodded.
"Bye Eliza, it was nice meeting you" Spencer said.
"Bye bye" she replied.
"See you?" he asked.
"See you" she nodded with a smile.
"Who is he?" Remus asked as they walked back to the ring toss game.
"Mason no last name, I met him during break" she answered.
"You know Mason no last name likes you"
"Yeah?" she chuckled.
"Yeah he was looking at you weird"
"You mean... how you look at me?" she asked.
Remus kept a blank expression on his face.
"Relax Remus" she rolled her eyes and stopped walking. "Get it through your head that I'm with you" she held onto his jacket. Spencer leaned in for a kiss.
"Now go win me frosty 2.0" she said against his lips.
"As you wish" he smiled.
