I came out from the washroom getting ready.. Rohan called me a couple of days back as he need some help to impress his girlfriend.
The same Rohan, who proposed me initially and Arjun punched his nose for holding my hand. Anyways, we met when we went to the college meet..
I still remember his words..
"You and Arjun showed me what's love.. sorry that I used to stalk you initially even after you rejected me but that's how I realized what I felt for you is may be just a crush or an attraction unlike Arjun who loves you immensely..
I have found someone for me Divya, someone whom I love the most.. and to my luck my feelings are reciprocated as well but I wanna propose her officially.. so please help me with it, I don't even know whom to ask", Rohan said
"Me?", I asked shocked
"Yeah you only, you can get Arjun along if you aren't comfortable but please don't say a no", Rohan requested
"Umm, I don't think I'll be able to come.. piled up with some work this week.. you guys can if Divya is fine with it", Arjun said who was with me till now
I looked at Arjun and he blinked his eyes assuring and I smiled nodding to Rohan.
So yeah, he said he will pick me up.. I don't know where we are going also but something for his girlfriend!
I got ready and saw Arjun working on his laptop.. it's been a hectic week for Arjun, today being a Sunday also he had so much to do. Apparently, he's working on some new project and will be busy till a couple of days more.
"Arjun, I'm going out you know right?", I asked
"Yeah Divi I know, stay safe and don't go anywhere else.. and call me before you start to home", he said looking at his laptop
I wish he completes all his work fast.. he isn't even eating on time.
"Ok then, I'm leaving and will be home soon.. you please eat the dinner Arjun, it's on the dining", I said
"Yeah I'll eat in a while, don't worry and enjoy baby", he said
"God, I'm not going to enjoy.. I'm going to help don't know what", I rolled my eyes
I really din't wanted to go, I myself don't know what to help him.. hope I don't make a fool out of myself.
I shrugged and went down and Rohan was already there waiting for me. So without wasting much time I got into his car and soon we reached the place.
We reached some hotel and I was surprised as to why we are here..
"Here?", I asked
"Oh yes, Priya isn't from Mumbai so right now she came here for some work and is staying here.. so I booked another room for us so if you can help me arrange it then the rest I can take care off", he said
Hotel room!! Dammit, now I get it what he's upto.. I felt a little awkward now, anyways I came till here so let's just do the work and leave soon.
Soon we are done with the arrangements and I was just waiting to go home now..
"Should I drop you Divya?", Rohan asked
"Ofcourse not Rohan, you should be with Priya now.. I'll manage don't worry", I assured
"You sure?", He asked
"Yeah, I'll go.. you enjoy", I smiled and left the place
I called Arjun but he dint pick the call, may be busy with work.. I messaged him that I started and got into the cab.
I soon reached home, and went inside as I locked it from outside inorder to not disturb Arjun.
I went directly to our room and saw Arjun standing but what surprised me was a girl standing opposite to him and I couldn't see her face.
"Arjun", I called
He turned around and that's when I saw her face. I don't know who she is, but I feel I saw her somewhere before..
"Oh finally, I thought you wouldn't come back only", that girl smirked
"I.. I din't get you", I said confused
"See Arjun even now she's acting as if she doesn't know any", she gave me a look
"Can you please be specific", I asked controlling myself
How can she question me like this standing in my house? And what's even happening and first, who is she?
"Nitya please, can you leave for now?", Arjun asked politely
"You should say that to your wife Arjun, she's using you like this and you stay quite?", Nitya asked
"What, what do you mean?", I asked
"Oh yes, absolutely right Divya.. you can use Arjun like you want and why does he have to stay sulking for you", she said
"Shutup, be clear otherwise you can kindly leave", I said maintaining my straight face
"Impatient is it? Or wait, is it coz you are wondering which dark truth of yours is out now.. anyways, look at this", she said giving her phone to me
I took and my eyes widen in shock looking at that.. it was a photo of mine and Rohan's when we met today in the hotel.. it was when we where in the room arranging the stuff and when I dashed with Rohan.
I know that nothing happened but this photo looks like we where hugging eachother, and it was looking kinda intimate as well..
Fuck, did Arjun believe this? Did he trust this photo over me?
I looked at him who was pressing his head and looked frustrated.
"This isn't what it seems to be", I said confidently
"Yes yes, everyone says the same to defend.. but the truth can't be changed right?", Nitya asked
"Exactly, the truth cant be changed and the truth is nothing happened of that sort", I said
"Oh really, you both where caught in a hotel in the same room when the room was booked with Mr. and Mrs. Rohan Singhania is it?", She smirked more like a taunt
"Arjun", I called and he looked at me
"Do you really believe this?", I asked controlling my emotions
"Divi, and nitya please.. can we discuss tomorrow?", He said looking tired
I looked at him shocked, he isn't ready to say a word defending me.. does that mean he accepts and believes everything what this so called nitya is saying?
I was surely shocked when she was accusing me of all this, but I honestly din't feel weak all the while.. now, when Arjun wasn't speaking a word it killed me somewhere deep!
Couldn't he just say one word.. that he trust me? I don't know when tears formed in my eyes looking at him and I just couldn't stand there any longer.
I just went away that moment and I heard Arjun calling my name.. now what does he have to tell?
I came out of the house but clueless where to go.. I wanted some peace of mind now which I surely can't get here but I really can't go to mine or Anu's house also, this is our personal issues and I don't want anyone involving in this.
That's when I remember Varshini, she's one of my good friend now and I guess her parents also wouldn't mind me for a night.. as much as I know about her it wouldn't be a problem so I quickly called her and thankfully she was fine with me being at her home now.
I took an auto going to her home and she showed the room.
"This is my room only Divya, I hope you don't mind sharing", she said
"Ofcourse not Varshu, you helped me stay here and that's only more for me.. thank you", I hugged her
"You don't have to thank Divi, you can be comfortable ok.. and if you need anything then let me know", she said
I nodded and walked towards the balcony in the room, I see Varshini left the room and I sigh looking at the sky.
Never have I thought there would be such day in my life!!
Just then, I received a call and it was from Arjun!
Now what do you wanna say Arjun? I din't realize I was already in tears by now and I picked the call waiting for him to speak something.
"Divi", he said
"Hmm", was all I could say
"I think it's high time I tell you this", he said
High time? What's even happening?
He continued while I stayed quite.
"It isn't working Divi, I don't know why but I feel something missing between us", he said and I felt blank that moment
"Wh.. what do you mean Arjun?", I asked
"I don't feel the same for you now like I felt initially Divya.. I'm unable to see and feel the same", he said
"But Arjun, why?", I asked sniffing
"I don't know Divya, it's not like I'm doing it intentionally.. I was the one to love you, I was the one to propose you first, and if I'm saying you that it isn't working out then understand that I'm clear about it", he said and I felt ending my life instead ending us
"Arjun, what do you wanna say?", I asked directly
"Simple Divya, I don't love you anymore.. and since there's no love between us I think there's no meaning for this relationship, so I want a divorce from you", he said breaking my heart
"Divorce?", I was shocked
"Yes, trust me even you can't stay happy like this.. how long would you when you won't be able to receive the same love and care", he asked
"Arjun I love you, I still do and will always love you.. you can't do this to me", I cried badly
"Sorry Divya, as I said I don't want this either.. but honestly I don't find any reason to stay in this relationship with you", he said
"Arjun is it something of what happened today? Trust me it's nothing like those pictures potray", I said
"No, it's not about it.. I took this decision way before but dint know how to tell you.. but I feel I shouldn't hide more so..", he said
"Arjun we where fine till yesterday then..", he interrupted me
"You where mistaken Divya, I was distancing myself from you since more than a week now", he said
"Yeah, that's coz you where working on your new project so I also din't disturb you coz I know you where busy", I said hopefully
"That project wasn't that important also, it was just a mere excuse to keep away from you", he said without any emotion
He really doesn't want me? How can he even say this to me.. he loved me so much, even more than how much I love him..
Then how can he say all these to me? He loves me, he loves me!
"Arjun, you are kidding right?", I asked
"Sorry Divya, but it's the truth that I don't love you anymore and wanna seperate from you officially with a divorce", he said it again and I couldn't help but fall on my knees
"Arjun", I whispered
"I know it must be hard, I know it's even hard to forgot all the beautiful moments we shared so far but you gotta understand that it will remain beautiful when you leave it at times..
I don't want to drag our relationship and spoil it further Divya", he said
"You will receive the divorce papers to your house tomorrow morning, so sign it send it back to me.. let's just do it quick ok?", He asked
Am I a burden to him now? Doesn't he want and need me anymore in his life!?
Why me? Where did I even go wrong? We where all happy days back and today he says he need a divorce coz he doesn't love me?
I cried my heart out in the balcony sitting to a corner cursing my fate.. I still can't believe that my life changed in just a few hours..
Fine, if he feel he can stay happy without me then I'll give him divorce as he wants.. if he really don't want me then I wouldn't come in his life either!
He loved me, I eventually fell for him.. he proposed me for marriage, I eventually realised and got married.. even now he's asking a divorce, and I'll give it..
It was always him first in our relation, but unlike the previous time where I did coz I wanted the same, now I'm doing coz he wants it..
I gotta survive this!! I'll also!
I din't know when sleep engulfed me and the next morning I quickly went to my house.. ofcourse they where tons of questions of why I was here but keeping everything aside I received the divorce papers Arjun sent me.
Without a second thought, with a heavy heart I signed it sending it back to his house.. and it's over!
