After a two-hour nap, Mara woke up. She quickly took a shower before heading to the medical centre to ask Shuri more about the hypnotherapy.
When she walked in, she saw Shuri working on her computer, looking at some sort of brain scan. "Is that the scan of my brain?" She asked.
"Yes it is. I'm trying to figure out exactly what verbal cues I need to use to counteract your trigger words." Shuri explains. Mara looked at her, waiting for her to explain further.
"Hypnotherapy uses verbal cues and repetition to treat mental conditioning. I now know for certain that hypnotherapy will be successful for your brain after looking at it in hibernation, but now I just need to know what type of words would work as verbal cues."
Mara just nodded along as Shuri explained. She was once again reminded of the intricacy of the mind and the extensive workings of hypnotherapy.
"Perhaps you can help me. Would you mind writing down your exact trigger words?" She asked as she handed Mara a piece of pen and paper. Mara hesitantly grabbed it. She was scared that even writing those words down it would trigger a response from her.
"Don't worry, the words shouldn't trigger you by reading it. You were conditioned to respond to audio triggers." Shuri says, noticing Mara's discomfort.
Mara walks over to a desk and takes a seat, writing down her trigger words and their translation.

She hands the piece of paper over to Shuri, who thanks her in return. "Now I can look for counteractive words for these terms and we will start working with that."
"And all that is just to get me into that hyper-focused state?" Shuri nods in response.
"The therapy itself will place the seeds of different thoughts in your mind during the trance-like state, and soon, those changes take root and prosper. Thus resulting in you being freed from your trigger words."
Mara nods realising that this may actually work. It all sounds like it would work perfectly for her in order to move on.
"You can go to your room while you wait for me to figure out your verbal cues. I will let you know when I'm finished and we'll get started right away." Shuri says as she opens an old-looking dictionary.
"Thank you, Shuri." Mara responds as she turns around and walks back to her room full of hope.
