I opened my eyes to a dark room. I was lying down in our bed, and Dylan was right next to me. I turned to check the time on the clock and noticed it was 2:30 in the morning.

The last thing I remember from last night was sitting on the couch, trying to ignore as Dylan and Blake talked about Alpha Nicolas.

I had fallen asleep. I hadn't noticed when Dylan had carried me upstairs.

My body was exhausted. It really had been a long day. Instead of fighting the sleep, I just let myself drift off again.

The shuffling on the bed caused me to wake up. I sleepily opened my eyes to find a naked Dylan standing next to our bed. Quickly, I closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Dylan's chuckle made me open one of my eyes and sneak a peak in his direction.

"I know you're awake," Dylan said. After saying that, he walked to the restroom and shut the door.

My face was warm, probably from the blush that was covering it.

When Dylan came out of his shower, I was still laying down in the bed. I was wide awake, but I felt too lazy to get up.

"We need to talk," Dylan said seriously, coming to sit on the bed, next to me.

"Is it about what Blake said last night?" I asked, my voice coming out soft.

Dylan nodded once and looked at me intently. I didn't react in anyway. I was expecting the worse from the call.

"What did Blake say? What does Alpha Nicolas want?"

"You don't have to call him Alpha Nicolas. You're an Alpha too," Dylan said, placing one of his hands on my thigh.

"I know, but it feels weird not to call him that," I said, thinking about all the times I'd refer to him that way.

"Nicolas wants to get all the other packs against me, or at least on his side. He wants a fight," Dylan said.

He was looking into my eyes, and I tried not to show the fear I felt. I didn't really care about me. I just wanted Dylan and his pack to be safe. After all, this was my fault.

"What are we going to do?" I asked him.

"Blake said we have his full support. Other packs contacted me last night, wondering what problem Nicolas and I were having. Most don't want to interfere but, he still has Jackson and his pack backing him up."

"Why can't he just leave us alone?" I asked, looking down at my hands that were resting on my lap.

Dylan put one of his hands under my chin, and made me look up at him.

"It'll be alright. He won't take you. And, I'll make him leave us alone," Dylan said. He wrapped his arms around my waist and brought me to sit on his lap.

He started kissing my neck, running one of his hands on my waist. Being near him made me forget about all the problems we had- at least for a few moments.

Sooner than I'd like, he had pulled away from me.

"I have to leave. The pack needs to be ready and I need to create new rounds for us to run. I'm also going to extend them to an hour, and we will be having about ten every day."

"That sounds like a lot of work."

"It's not. We're a large pack. The more protection, the safer it will be. Besides, there are plenty of men in the pack. I'm only making everyone do an hour run per week. I don't want the pack to give up all their time," Dylan explained.

"Thank you," I said, wrapping my arms around his neck and bringing my lips over his.

When I pulled away, I looked at Dylan, wanting to keep his face in my mind all day.

"Why did you thank me?" He asked, looking at me curiously.

"You included me in what you're going to do. Well, you let me know at least," I told him.

"Blake said some things last night, and he was right," Dylan said, his voice sounding strained.

I raised an eyebrow, which caused him to roll his eyes at me.

"No, I'm not going to tell you what he said," Dylan told me.

He placed both of his hands on my waist and placed me on the bed. The way he carried me, made me feel like if I weighed nothing.

"I really need to get going. John and Eric will be right over. If you want to go anywhere, please, don't leave without them. It'll save me a headache," Dylan said.

I nodded my head at him and watched as he left the room, dressed in basketball shorts and a white t-shirt.

Even while wearing something so simple, he looked mouthwatering.

I couldn't help but think about last night and how it hadn't gone as I'd expected.

I showered and changed before going downstairs. When I did, Eric and John were already there.

"Alpha," both of them said at the same time.

I smiled at them and waved as I walked toward the fridge.

"Do you guys know when Dylan will be back?" I asked, as I took out the grape juice and poured myself a cup.

"He'll probably be a while. But he said if you wanted to catch up with him, you can tell us and we'll take you," John said.

I nodded at him and started rummaging through the fridge.

Like yesterday, I made us breakfast. The moment I saw them eat like if they hadn't eaten in weeks, a chuckle escaped my lips.

Now I knew that was the way they ate. Yesterday they had worried me because I'd assumed they hadn't eaten in a while.

I spent the rest of the morning in the games room watching TV. The guys at first didn't want to leave me alone.

I couldn't exactly blame them. I had gotten out through the window yesterday, so it wasn't really a surprise that they didn't trust me.

After a lot of convincing from Eric and me, John finally decided they would go to the other room and play video games.

While I sat there, I thought about Alpha Nicolas. Dylan's pack was almost as big as Alpha Nicolas and Alpha Jackson's packs combined.

That didn't mean I should underestimate them. Both of them were great leaders and they knew how to attack and get what they wanted.

I debated on calling Blake. When my nerves didn't seem to settle down, I grabbed the phone and dialed his number.

It rang three times before he answered.

"Hello?" Blake said into the phone.

His voice sounded distracted and I wondered if maybe I called at a bad time.

"Am I interrupting something?" I asked him.

"Leila? No, of course not," he said to me.

"What are you up to?" I got comfortable on the couch, resting my back on the shoulder of it.

"I'm just signing some papers. I was about to go for a run. Are you okay? How are you doing?"

"You were wrong," I said to him, as I stared up at the ceiling.

Blake chuckled and I could just picture him shaking his head.

"What was I wrong in? Blake asked me.

"I make a terrible Luna," I said, letting a smile form on my face.

I heard Blake laughing and I couldn't help but join him.

"Dylan said you were presented to the pack yesterday. So, you're new. Don't worry, you'll get used to it," Blake replied, still chuckling.

We continued to talk for a while longer. When we hung up, I could tell he didn't really want to go.

My phone had been beeping for a while and I thought it might be Dylan, so I didn't want to keep him waiting.

I put the phone down, waiting for the call to enter. I had been expecting John or Eric to come in the room and tell me that Dylan had been calling me and I hadn't answered. They never came, so I figured it probably wasn't urgent.

I got sleepy from lying down in the couch, not doing anything. Just as I felt myself dosing off, the phone started ringing.

I sighed loudly, trying to let go of how sleepy I felt.

Finally, I answered the phone, knowing it would be Dylan- probably wanting me to go with him.

"Hello," I said, cheerfully.

"You answered the phone," he said, sounding surprised.

I took the phone away from my ear and stared at it. It was a stupid thing to do, but I couldn't believe I had him on the line.

"Alpha Nicolas," I said, my voice barely a whisper.

"Hello my little girl," he said to me.

I didn't say anything else. I remained quiet, trying to control my breathing.

"How are you?" He asked me, after a heavy silence.

"I'm fine," I replied, my voice completely insecure as I spoke to him.

"I can't wait to have you back. I've missed you. And, the wedding preparations will continue as soon as I can get you back," he said.

I couldn't really believe that he was telling me that. How could he not see that I didn't want that? I wanted to say something, but my voice wouldn't come out.

"I need to go now. I just needed to hear your voice. I will get you back Leila. And I will kill Dylan for trying to separate you from me. Goodbye," he said, before the line went dead.

I hung up the phone and continued to stare at it. I wondered if I had imagined it. His words were still fresh in my mind, which were what let me know it had been real.
