In his defence Niklaus Mikaelson didn't know he had sex with THE scarlet witch, it was just a meaningless one night stand to him and he didn't know he could have children. Klaus was with his one night stand Anne, when she gave birth to Pandora. He didn't want to be like his father, Mikael so he tried to love and support his daughter until he was dead.
Niklaus Mikaelson was dead.

Now, Klaus has no idea why he is at this cinema-like place with his ex-enemies, siblings, and Caroline Forbes.
He had no idea that he was going to watch his two daughters' try to stay strong without him.
