I heard a knock on my door. Knock Knock Knock. I knew it was Abraham right away, as we always knocked on each other's doors three times to let each other know who it was. I backed away from the door and it opened. Abraham came in, cautiously closing the door behind him. He was wearing his tight red and black Jordans, accompanied by Nike socks. He fixed his beanie, that I bought for him for his birthday.
"Oh, c'mon Riri, what did I tell ya?" He came to me and gave me a big, warm hug.
"I was not cryin'," I said, wiping away the evidence." see."
"Good." He sat on my bed, beside me.
"Are they done fightin'?"
"Nope..." I looked at my palms as I turn my eyes away from him.
"Riri?" I don't reply. "Marie, Oh Lord!" He bent down to get a look at my face.
"I swear, I ain' cryin'. I swear I ain'." I made a sort of sobbing sound at the base of my throat.
"Riri?"
"Yeah..." I croaked.
"Wanna go for a walk?" He asked me, seeing my lips tremble.
"Awrigh'." He got up quick
"Then le's go. You're awready dressed. Just need shoes."
