Author's Pov :
Chanyeol, stares at the cold ice prince, Lord Byun as they call him, his saviour but also the one who is most life threatening to him. The only one to intimidate him in years.
He doesn't know why he was curious about this Vampire, but somehow he just can't stop thinking about him. For the first time he found someone of his match, someone who could challenge him, so alike all those mystic people who are always scared of offending him even though he isn't so scary.
He has never looked at anyone more than a minute as he would only like to give all his attention to his mate but this Vampire, even though he can't detect his smell he somehow was pulled towards him like something invisible maybe a thread pulling him closer and closer towards the Warmth that radiates through those cold eyes.
"If I win, may I know your name?" he questioned.
He doesn't know why he was so adamant on knowing the Vampire's name but he somehow wants to call him by his name and not something like 'Lord Byun'
The ice prince frowned deeply. "Why are you so obsessed with knowing my name?"
Chanyeol shrugs. "I guess I just don't want to call you 'Lord' or something so formal. It feels weird. You can call me Chanyeol" he grins and raises a brow.
"We will see than Alpha" he hissed before lunging towards Chanyeol who dodged and moved back.
"Woah" he murmured as a swift punch came towards him. He dodged again as the smaller Vampire was faster than him.
Honestly Chanyeol doesn't want to fight. At Least not with this smaller Vampire who was very much stronger. He only kept dodging without making any serious move.
"Too bold of you to come here so unguarded" the vampire snarked.
In between fight, he couldn't help but wonder how he actually cracked down and came all the way into the wilds.
"Now, don't act so mean" Chanyeol retorted back dodging another kick.
He was pushed back against a tree before a punch came towards him. Moving sideways just in time the Vampire's punch landed straight on the bark breaking the tree into pieces, chanyeol was lucky enough to dodge.
He shook his head and smiled. "Ah, aren't you tired already? Can't we just get to the important part?" He tried to reason but the Vampire was hell bent on fighting with him.
"Why aren't you fighting!" He exclaimed darkly. "Is the big Alpha afraid?"
Anyone in place of Chanyeol would have gotten riled up at that provoking. Chanyeol wasn't at all feeling offended.
"Did you sneak in my pack because of the prophecy?" He changed the topic instead.
The ice prince watched him carefully. "Maybe if you fight like man, I might feel pity an answer you"
Chanyeol chuckled and tsked. "I'm not a fan of Violence you see. Can't we just sit and talk like mature men"
The ice prince's cold frosty gaze flared. "No"
Chanyeol felt the Vampire coming at him again. "I am enjoying this challenge" He tried again only to meet with more punches. "But I need some answers quick"
He sighed, chanyeol clearly was not interested in fighting this beautiful specimen. He asked his wolf for some help. His wolf would gladly help him when he comes to face off.
Chanyeol's grey eyes turned silver blue as he let his wolf take over. Instead of the gentleness arrogance seemed to flash all over his face. "If you want this I would give it to you kitten"
The sudden change in personality startled the Vampire. Chanyeol had to hold back a snicker when his wolf called the Vampire a Kitten, who hissed and attacked again.
Chanyeol caught his wrist and caught his neck with another hand, as he flipped and thumped him down. A sudden wave of heat passed through his hand making him jerk a bit. His eyes widened for a second before he tightened his hold and trapped the Vampire on the ground.
Fangs and canines baring at each other, both were staring like animals in heat. Chanyeol's whole body covered the smaller who squirmed and before he knew it he felt the other's leg moving but Chanyeol caught it.
Licking his lips, Chanyeol stared at those icy blue eyes, he couldn't help but let out an exhale but what shocked him was that the other did the same.
"You are breathing" he murmured then suddenly he felt himself touching his face, soft smooth and milky white skin.
"Get your hands off me" the Vampire hissed. Chanyeol stared at the blue eyes which were so dark and empty. He couldn't help but stare at him.
The atmosphere became thick with tension as both lay on the ground one over the other. Chanyeol was alarmed as he felt the younger male shiver.
"Why? Are you scared" he asked teasingly only to meet with more fury instead.
"Get.Of.Me" he hissed, breathing heavily and Chanyeol immediately pushed himself up rolling away from the Vampire. His fingers tingle as when he touched him like that. What has gotten into him?
Something struck his mind and before he could open his mouth, he felt a hand on his heart, a face so close he could see and lost forever into those dark pools of blue.
As Chanyeol's gaze travelled down he saw a bare hand, which doesn't have any gloves but instead a purple glow covered his palms.
"If you speak about it to anyone, I would make sure your heart stops beating, you hear me?" He glared, and spoke harshly.
"That a Vampire was breathing?" He asked carefully.
"Shut. Up"
Chanyeol shook his head and tried to take in what he just saw. He doesn't like when the Vampire stares at him with so much disdain. He has to lighten up the mood. "If you tell me your name, I would drop it really"
Baekhyun glared at him some more before snatching his hand away, and taking a few steps back, his expression as blank and cold as his eyes.
Chanyeol tried to hold back a small smile, as he saw the rage disappear before the familiar coolness appeared. He was probably not gonna force someone to expose their life. It wasn't in his interest to interfere in anyone's life.
Chanyeol chuckled, loving the slight hitch in the smaller's reaction. He has always teased Sehun but teasing this young Vampire felt good. His eyes roamed around to find his bag. When he saw it near the tree he walked towards it and picked up slaying it over his shoulder.
"So, where are we going? I don't think it's safe to stay and talk here" he asked.
The Vampire looked away before he started walking. "Try to stay close, mind you, your life is not my concern"
Lies. He smiles softly before sighing. "So are you gonna tell me…your name?"
"No"
Chanyeol groaned internally, as he chuckled helplessly. He has grown up around people who have always adored him and always respected him. He was the source of courage and motivation to his pack. After his parents, there was Suho and Yifan who took care of him, and then it was the pack who literally raised him under their protective shadows.
Even after losing his parents, he was adopted by his whole pack, who helped him to be what he is today. Whichever pack he visits they always look at him with admiration and love, as they call him Alpha of Alpha's - the strongest and untouchable.
His wolf has also been one of the main reasons why they not just respect him but also there is a slight fear for his beast, his wolf. The Mist already bows to him, that being a phoenix likely doesn't matter to him
"Can you tell me now about the spies that appeared in the wilds" He thought of starting to ask fewer questions. "I know it's hard to trust a werewolf but I am telling the truth. We never sent any spies in the wilds"
He was expecting an answer but the Vampire spoke nothing.
"How long are you going to stay quiet?" He asked again, "You even broke into our barrier"
Stll no answer.
Sighing, he increased his pace before walking side by side with the Vampire who was shorter than him so he had to look down to stare at him. If he throws his arm around the smaller shoulder, he can pull him under him.
He cleared his throat but the smaller one ignored him.
"Look I need to know okay. I have to return back so that I can prepare for whatever is to come" He wasn't even aware when his voice turned serious. He looked away with a frown. Taking in the path they were walking which was turning narrower.
Suddenly they stopped towards a dead end, which was covered with thorns and bushes clearly not a way anyone could just walk in.
Chanyeol turned his questioning gaze towards the smaller but to his surprise the smaller caught his collar and it wasn't gentle at all.
His eyes widened as he tried to speak. "What…?"
"Shut up" he heard before the rest of the way blurred and suddenly he stumbled on a hard ground.
"WOAH…!" He squeaked before he heard a click of tongue.
His eyes snapped open and as his heart beat loudly his gaze landed on the thing before him. Stone Stairs led upwards towards somewhere.
"Where the hell are we?" He somehow let out those words feeling a bit dizzy. "How did you do that?"
He didn't get any answers as expected.
"Follow along. God, can you speak less" the Vampire hissed before walking away.
Chanyeol exhaled a short breath looking over at his surroundings. His mind was still not able to define this situation. Just minutes ago they were walking inside the forest, and suddenly they were teleported here. How the hell is this possible unless there is some type of magic used.
Chanyeol tensed as he followed the smaller who was already fast ahead.
They walked all the way up the stairs and suddenly Chanyeol was amazed. There was a huge mansion standing before him, looking so majestic.
They walked upwards, and towards the house. Instead of taking the door to enter, they rounded the mansion and walked all the way towards the backyard. Green trimmed grass ran all over the ground, a small fireplace lit with wood in the middle inside a concrete stone circle.
His gaze ran towards his left and right, the mansion was so beautiful and huge, even his own house wasn't this big.
He wasn't someone to let his guard down though no matter how beautiful the thing was he always had his senses on alert.
"So the big bad Alpha is here...huh?"
His head snapped towards the melodic voice, gaining his attention back towards the pink haired Vampire who he had seen with the smaller Vampire before. His eyes ran up and down over Chanyeol's form who felt the need to growl. It was just his wolf, who was agitated at that gaze.
Chanyeol raised a curious brow. "Are we having a meeting here? If I had known I would have dressed nicer" he smiled, trying to lighten his own beating heart.
The taller Vampire, snorted leaning more against the chair. "Wow, so you do have guts to walk all the way to the wilds huh" he licked his lips, eyes red as they watched him carefully.
Chanyeol ignored him before shifting his gaze towards the smaller again. "Why was he here and what's next" he wanted to ask but he waited patiently as the Vampire asked him too.
The smaller didn't utter a word as he walked towards the taller Vampire before taking a seat beside him.
The pink haired Vampire tsked as he got up and walked towards Chanyeol, now that the Alpha noticed he was holding a glass of red wine twirling it elegantly.
Chanyeol's wolf wanted him to turn around and walk past him but he held his ground, his gaze steady and calm, completely what his wolf was feeling right now.
"When I first saw you with the rest of your pack, you kinda made a good impression on me" he smirked, coming closer, voice seductive and chimy. "But I guess I don't have a chance do I?"
Chanyeol doesn't know what he meant, but he was right. He does find the taller Vampire Attractive but he has no interest in getting closer to him.
"Luhan…" a dark voice murmured.
The taller Vampire stopped before looking over his shoulder. "I get it. I won't touch your territory brother"
Chanyeol bit his lips, and narrowed his eyes. What are they talking about? So at least he got to know one name. Luhan huh?
When Luhan came closer it was when Chanyeol smelled the strong smell of Blood. His eyes fell over the wine glass, so it was not wine. He was not surprised as Vampires do need to feed blood for living. When he came even closer he felt it. He wasn't breathing like the Ice prince. Hmm.
He held back a grimace as Luhan stood a few inches before him holding the glass and taking a slow sip. "I had to applaud your bravery young Alpha. Not everyone walk themselves into the wilds without having second thoughts"
Chanyeol's eyes fell over Luhan's shoulder. The smaller Vampire just sat there without even giving them any mind.
His gaze returned back to Luhan. "I had to thank your brother for that"
Luhan's head tipped sideways, his falcon gaze narrowing, lips between his teeth. "Oh, did I miss something? What does he mean brother?"
He heard the smaller sighing. "Just get it over with Luhan.."
He doesn't know what they were talking about but Chanyeol was not someone who would just stand and let anyone walk over him. His eyes hardened, his wolf somehow behaving like a wild lion.
"What is so special about you hmm" he whispered into his personal space.
"I want to check, You don't mind sharing some blood would you..?"
It was so fast, Luhan's hand came forward, sharp claws displaying as they came closer to his face.
Chanyeol's hand snapped at once, catching the claws before they could cut over his face. His grey eyes turned silver as his wolf already couldn't hold back because of the strong vampire scent. He happily let him take over. Today everything was forgiven.
Chanyeol's lips spread into a coy smile, his silver grey eyes glowing with thunder.
"I apologize young master, but my blood is not for sale"
Replying back he twisted his wrist making him hiss. Luhan threw his wine glass into the fire, before he attacked with another hand.
Chanyeol was ready as he dodged the second hand before hitting Luhan's legs, his wolf's strength was not a joke as he caught the second wrist and broke his arm.
Luhan whimpered, but still tried to use his legs, chanyeol took that opportunity and flipped him around before throwing him away.
Luhan whitered but did Chanyeol cared, his eyes fell over the shorter Vampire who still sat there as if Chanyeol just didn't break his friend's arm.
He heard a sound before his gaze snapped back to Luhan who now stood up with an annoyed Smile. "You shouldn't have done that Alpha"
Chanyeol shrugged. "My wolf doesn't like anyone touching me except my mate"
Liar.
"Lucky bastard.." Luhan whispered.
Chanyeol looked at him. "Lucky who..?"
Luhan suddenly smirked, "Lucky mate.." He replied, but Chanyeol was sure it wasn't what he heard. He watched as Luhan took a hold of his arm and brought it to a right position, the crunching of bones rang louder as he now stood unscathed.
"You are strong, but I don't think you can take us all"
Chanyeol dropped his smile as he let his wolf surface whose gaze hardened, the grey completely disappearing as Silver took over. He knew it was not going to be easy to get all his answers but he also ain't gonna give in before he could find them.
"You should find out then.." He answered simply, his voice deeper than usual.
In such cases, his wolf has always taken over, even if he was in his human form anyone would notice that it wasn't Chanyeol at all but his wolf, his beast whose soul now had blended with Chanyeol. The silver eyes were the perfect give away. Well, he wasn't sure if the Vampires would notice or not but who cares.
His wolf was a complete opposite of him. Chanyeol was calm, but his wolf was cold. His wolf was someone who wouldn't submit to anyone. His wolf was a firecracker, someone who would break every bone in your body and won't even feel sorry. His wolf was not to be taken lightly.
That's why Chanyeol said that the people in mist fear him only because of his wolf, his beast. Not to mention that his white wolf was someone the legends worship, the moon goddess herself looked upon them.
"Scared already?" Luhan laughed, throwing his head back. "Walking into wilds. What if it was a trap?"
Chanyeol chuckled, but soon his lips turned into a dark smirk. "Trap? Was it really?"
His smirk deepened as a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes, completely ignoring the fact that he annoyed a Vampire.
Who started or who attacked first no one had any idea. When they began, the surrounding atmosphere turned heavy, even the Wilds seemed to have gone into an uproar until the wind picked up its a phase, the trees and leaves rustled loudly and harshly, the ground shook with Impact.
The two deadly, strong creatures of the Myst and wilds clashed against each other, their moves so sharp, so fierce that one couldn't even detect who was who.
When one moved the other moved as well, when one was caught the other tried best to defend.
The cold-blooded Vampire hissed as the Alpha attacked continuously, he tried his best to avoid the punches but the other's speed was the same as him. He for once couldn't help but avoid getting near the cocky wolf.
When they stood again on the ground. The Vampire was tumbling on his heels, his steely gaze glared at the cocky Alpha male wolf.
Luhan huffed, but this time, he attacked more fiercely. His eyes and attention both were fixed on the other as he tried to decode the other's technique.
Chanyeol's wolf suddenly lost its mischievous glint in his eyes. When Luhan attacked again he was caught off guard and suddenly he's back was crushed against a tree. Punches came at him back to back, he tried to dodge but he did receive some blows.
Luhan smirked. "Not so fast now are you?"
Chanyeol felt Luhan's fingers tracing his neck. With the sudden unknown touch his canines became longer and sharper. He growled and pushed the Vampire off him. His wolf was not tolerable to anyone's touch.
"That was my bad" He mumbled, and spit the blood in his mouth, before raising his fingers calling the other forward in a teasing tone. Luhan narrowed his eyes, as his lips formed a flat line. "Now this is getting exciting. Why don't you try again, this time try harder"
This time Chanyeol's body moved, he was so fast and so smooth the other didn't even get time to dodge as the other palm clasped around the smaller neck, choking him in his hold, the long nails digging in the soft flesh, oozing blood.
Chanyeol's wolf smirk widened, as his silver eyes fell over the cold blue ones before he whirled around banging Luhan on the same tree, the cracking voice was so loud, that the birds flew away making loud noises.
"Now, that's what I call a good payback" He teased.
Luhan groaned holding the other's hand around his neck before getting a hold of it and clenching it so tight that the taller's hold loosened giving an opening to him as he swiftly escaped from his clutches before whirling and throwing the other away from him as far as possible.
"Don't you dare taste my patience mutt" He showed his fangs and growled slowly. His red eyes shining with rage as the wound slowly started to heal. "Where did all the goodboy act disappear?"
Luhan's voice reached Chanyeol as he steadied himself, the mud sinking into his nails as he quickly picked himself up again. He raised a brow and waited for his cracked wrist bone to heal. That was painful.
Chanyeol only smirked and raised a brow, eyes glinting with mirth.
Luhan bared his fangs as he clicked his tongue. Suddenly out of nowhere a wooden stick appeared in hand and not just that, fire burned into the end. How the hell did he produce a fire stick?
"I warned you"
Chanyeol felt the other pushing the fire stick towards him, he tried to dodge as much as he could. He wanted to kick it out of his hands but all of a sudden another fire stick appeared into his other hand. Chanyeol was weaponless so he only dodged but his sleeves of hoodie did felt the burn.
Luhan stopped breathing hard as he looked sideways facing the small Vampire.
"Are you going to just sit there? And where the hell are Jongdae and Jongin?!" He hissed. "Why are they always late!"
Chanyeol's wolf wanted to laugh but Chanyeol felt somehow bad. He doesn't like fighting unnecessarily. It was all a waste of time. He sighed as his wolf hooted for himself.
Before Luhan could utter another word, they heard a laugh.
Chanyeol dusted his clothes as his eyes fell over Luhan's shoulder. Two Vampires emerged, one tall tan male while one as shorter as the Cold prince. The tan male has a smirk on his lips while the shorter male has a grin.
"Hyung, couldn't you beat even a little werewolf?" The shorter teased.
Luhan hissed and glared at him. "From what angle does he look little to you jongdae? He is taller than you idiot!"
The tan male, leaned against Luhan watching Chanyeol curiously.
"Of Course you won't win against a beast and a human together hyung" he mused eyes bright with excitement.
"What do you mean?" Luhan inquired, confused.
Jongin snorted, taking a few steps towards Chanyeol. "Look at his eyes, they are glowing. Not just Human anymore. What color were they when we met him?"
As Jongin walked towards him, Chanyeol thought drifted towards his words. When did he meet them? He remembers that only Luhan, an Ice prince, came to return the bodies to his pack then what Jongin is talking about?
"He hasn't turned into his wolf, then how is it possible for him to fight together with his wolf?" Luhan huffed, folding his hands while Jongdae patted his back.
"Hyung, maybe you should ask him" Jongin now stood a few inches before Chanyeol raised a brow. "Chanyeol right? Pleased to meet you"
Chanyeol for once held his wolf back from answering, his eyes shifting from silver to grey. "I would have said the same if not for the situation"
Chanyeol didn't expect the sudden intrusion in his space, the Vampires were so forward as Jongin grinned at him. He doesn't know
Jongin chuckled,"Did we scare you?" He teased, chanyeol had to chuckle.
"Do I look scared?" He tilted his head, his eyes finding a cold blue one as he left his lips from a smile. "Maybe If I fought with him, i could have been at least moved"
"Now Now…young man.." Jongdae laughed while walking towards the Ice Prince before taking a seat beside him. "You don't know who you are challenging. Didn't you heard, he is cold as ice, hard to break"
Chanyeol's silver eyes turned full grey as he smiled nodding. "Hard to break but easy to melt"
Ice prince looked at him with a frosty glare as he sped up towards him out of nowhere. Chanyeol let out a surprised gasp, as the Vampire held his collar and sped up again dragging him in a flash. It all happened so fast, the taller Alpha didn't even get time to utter a word.
Chanyeol's eyes widened as he found his face leaning over the fire, he thought his death was near as the Vampire buried his face in the Fire. He was shocked and stunned, closing his eyes, feeling hot flames touching his skin.
After a few minutes he was raised up, he thought he was gonna die, but he felt nothing. His breathing was harsh, sweating through his hairline. He felt the hot flames but as he snapped his eyes open he felt as if he didn't feel the burn.
"What..?" He somehow let out those words. Those few minutes felt like a dream.
He heard someone let out a sound but his attention was on himself. He touched his face but he felt no burn or anything. He gazed at the fire and hesitated before he let his shaking hand dip into the flames and holy shit.
He was amazed as his hand absorbed the flames, and even played with it.
He was frozen as he tried to understand what the hell was happening.
"THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!" He heard Jongdae exclaim. "It's confirmed, the myths were true. He is really a Phoenix"
Heart racing, eyes so wide his gaze fell over the cold blue eyes of Vampire who looked at him with calmness through the ice.
Chanyeol already was amazed as his body absorbed fire like a second skin but that was not in his mind. His gaze traced down towards the Vampire, and down over his hands which looked unscathed.
Chanyeol can understand he was a phoenix, fire won't harm him but how the hell it didn't affect the Vampire.
Just what in the world he was missing here. How many more secrets he has to handle?
He just hoped, it won't be too much to handle.
