(Y/n) POV:
"Ok since Luz is gonna be staying for a while and she's been bugging me since day one about it, I'm gonna try and get her into Hexide today" I walk into my mom's room to see her talking to herself in the mirror
"Oh hey (y/n), didn't see ya there"
"So what were you saying about Luz getting into Hexide?" I ask
"Oh you heard that? please don't tell her, it's gonna be a surprise" my mom whispers to me
"That's exciting, good luck" I give her a thumbs up before I go downstairs to eat breakfast with the rest of my family
*Time skip to school*
"Hey Am?"
"Um yeah" Amity replies while we exit the classroom
"Do you wanna come over tomorrow after school and I can help you with your guitar?" I ask hopefully
"I was already gonna come over though dumbass"
What? Who invited her? And why didn't I know
"Huh?"
"Luz invited me so she could help me learn how to play my guitar" Amity turns her scroll to me showing a text from Luz
Why would Luz be inviting my friends to my house without even telling me
And Luz doesn't even know how to play the guitar anyways
I mean I don't think?
This makes no sense at all
"But she's a drummer, shouldn't you be practicing with me since we're singing and playing the same instrument?" I ask
"We'll Luz asked me first, besides we'll be at your house so we can all practice together" Amity grips her shirt
"Yeah" I look down and we part ways
Why did Amity choose Luz over me? I'm her best friend and she only met Luz a few days ago
I feel my face turn red with anger and worry, my whole body burns with jealousy
I run into the bathroom
I need to calm down, splashing water on my face I look up at the mirror
"You know what, it's fair, Luz asked her first right? And she already said yes so she probably doesn't wanna be mean" I reason with myself
"Besides, she'll be at my house so I wil still see her like I wanted to" I talk to myself in the mirror more
"See, everything will be fine, now stop being a jealous asshole" I smile at myself
"Woah, these fellas have gotten big" I pull up my lip to see my fangs have gotten abnormally large since I last saw them this morning
I take a deep breath out, finally calming myself
I lift up my top lip to look at my big scary fangs again
Huh? Their gone? But they were just there a second ago
You know what? I'm probably late for class, I should get going
I pull my finger out of my mouth, grab my stuff and sprint out if the bathroom ignoring what had just happened
I run so fast I fail to see my mom walking down the hall towards me
"What was that? Seriously kid you need to watch where your going" my mom looks down at me "Oh hi (y/n), didn't know it was you, late for class?"
"Hey mom and yes I actually am late for class... again" I start picking up all the things that have spilled out of my bag
She giggles and helps me up
"So... did you get Luz into school?"
"Yes, although Bump was being an asshole and making me sign all these dumb papers again" she rolls her eyes
"She's gonna be so excited!"
"I know, but remember to wear earmuffs when I break the news, that girls shrieks are gonna be deafening"
I laugh
"Well I gotta get home before Luz, King and Hooty destroy the house"
"Ok bye mom, love you"
"Love ya kiddo, byeeeeeeee" she yells as she hops on Owlbert and flys throughout the halls, leaving a trail of destruction behind her
*time skip to lunch*
"Ok, so did you guys choose a song?" I ask the group
"We'll I like the one by Girl in Red" Amity says
"I know but we're not all lesbians though" Skara says
"But all of us like girls still dumbass" Boscha adds "but I kinda like Sports better"
"Skara, did you find one you like best?" I ask
"We'll I didn't really choose one because I kinda expected you guys to just agree on one song"
Boscha attempts to slap her forehead "ouch!" She yells as she closes her third eye tightly "why do I forget your there sometimes" she groans
"Need me to kiss it better?" Willow jokes
"Actually yes I do" Boscha moves her face closer
"Ok can you just stop being so lovey right now" I throw a peice of my bread at them
Boscha gives me a death stare and sticks out her tongue
I stick my tongue out right back at her
"Ok so Luz doesn't care which one we choose and Skara is an undecided participant. I personally like Girls so that's 2 votes, and we have one vote for Sports right?" They nod "so Girl in Red?"
they all nod in agreement
*time skip to end of day*
"After you m'lady" I jokingly bow and let Amity exit the school first
"I know this is short notice but I forgot to ask you earlier so, wanna hop on for a sec?" I pat the available spot on my palismen behind me
"I'm sorry (y/n) but I have a little bit of extra credit things I gotta do before I come over to your house"
I pull her onto Rascal and I start flying with Amity tightly gripping my waist
"dont worry we're just going to the library, I need to do some research"
"Why do you need me? What kind of research?" She asks
"Well I don't wanna be alone, especially in a library and you can just do your work in your hideout don't worry"
We arrive at the library and hop off my staff
I walk to the front desk while Amity goes to do her extra work
"Do you have any books on curses or birds by chance?" I ask the witch at the front desk
"You better not be trying to curse someone again Clawthorne" they say
"Oh no it's for research purposes this time I promise" I plead
"Fine, but I'm really trusting you on this one" they sigh "so just go to the very back and to the left there's a whole shelf on curses. And if ya look up there's a row labeled creatures, there should some sections on birds in there" they explain as they lazily point all around the library
"Ok thanks" I call on my way to find the books
*10 minute time skip*
I throw all the books on the ground in Amity's hideout
"What are these for?" She asks
"Just some research"
"What? Is the curse getting worse? How are they? I'm so sorry (y/n)"
"Oh no, their fine" I laugh "I just wanna learn more, ya know?"
"Oh ok, tell me if you need any help then (y/n)" she says before going back to doing her homework
*20 minute time skip*
After reading over 28 books I find something actually useful
It reads
Depending on the curse it may be passed onto the child if it is not cured before birth. Even if it is small or curable it may be worse or in some cases better for the witchling, again depending on the curse. Although they may not show symptoms in their early stages of life there may be certain things that trigger the curse later on. Sadly after it is triggered there is no cure and it turns into a lifelong condition.
"What? No, that's not true, it can't be" I say out loud as I throw the book away in disgust
"(Y/n), what's wrong?" Amity rushes over to me
"No, no, no, no, no" I shakily mutter to myself
"(Y/n), what's wrong, tell me"
I look up to her
"It's irreversible" I whisper
"What, what's irreversible"
I just cry and let her hold me tightly
