At School
AMBER's POV
After George dropped us off at school Georgie went over to his friends and I went straight to the library. Georgie doesn't know this but my older sister would be here today and well she isn't the friendliest person especially towards me. Now don't get me wrong I love my sister but she doesn't get what is like for me she is my family's pride and joy after my brother and it doesn't help that she looks like a god damn supermodel. I am the brains in my family no one knows this but I get straight A's in every class except math, the only people that know are my teachers and of course my parents. The last time I got a c was in the 3rd grade.
3rd Person POV
"Look at him. Bless my heart. Poor little guy, all alone. I don't see why his brother can't sit with him." said Mary to George as they watch their youngest son Sheldon eating lunch alone in the cafeteria.
"Come on, Mary. When you were in high school, would you have lunch with a nine-year-old?" said George with a calm expression on his face
"Yes, I would've. Mary replied"
"Well, there's something wrong with you". said, George
"I'm gonna keep him company."
"Hey, hey, hey, Mary. Mary. Think this through. Right now the kids are just ignoring Sheldon. What happens if he's sitting with his mommy?"
"They could mistake me for a senior. Well, I look younger than you."
"Just give this time, all right? It'll work itself out."
as their conversation was coming to an end They saw Amber and a boy walk over to Sheldon's table and sit with him.
"See what did I tell you," George said as a looked at Sheldon and Amber and the boy
"oh I love that girl so much she truly is a gift from God" exclaimed Mary
SHELDON's POV
as I was sitting enjoying my lunch thinking about Gravity and how it was discovered Amber came over and sat at my table with a boy following close behind.
"Hey Sheldon this is Tam," she said as she began to eat her food
"Hello Tam I am Sheldon," I said remembering what my mother told me in the car
"Hello," said Tam
"So how has your first day been Sheldon?" asked Amber with a smile on her face
" it has been good but the teachers keep making mistakes so I have been correcting them and they seem to get frustrated but I don't really know why" I explained
"oh well maybe they are frustrated that they didn't spot the mistake themselves," she said
"So Tam will be in your next class so I will leave you guys alone I have to go see Georgie," she said as she got up and left
"ok goodbye Amber. Will I see you at my house after school?" I asked
"probably bye Sheldon bye Tam," she said
after Amber had left Tam kept watching her as she was talking with my brother.
"What is it you find so interesting about my Brothers best friend," I asked
"she is Hot and smart" he replied simply
"I don't think she is any smarter than anyone else at this school," I said confused
"really you don't know she gets A's in every class except for math unless it is algebra then she gets an A," he said
"How do you know she gets A's in every class except for math," I asked
"last year I got to hand out all the tests back to the students and saw all her marks," he said calmly not taking his eyes off of that table that Georgie and Amber were sitting at with the rest of Georgies Friends.
'why wouldn't she tell anyone or say anything about how smart she was' i thought to myself and then started thinking about the time I overheard her doing her homework which was above her class level. how could I have never piced that information together?
LATER THAT DAY (Georgie's POV)
"Something wrong?" asked my mother while I was sitting at the kitchen table
"How come math is easy for Sheldon and hard for me?" I asked being completely annoyed that he got all the brains so I was failing my classes.
"I don't know, honey, but you have your own gifts," she said looking up from making diner
"Like what?"I asked
"Well, like you have very pretty hair," she said after a few seconds of thought
"True," I replied getting up from the table as Sheldon came into the Kitchen.
I left the Kitchen and headed to my room, as I opened my door I saw a sleeping Amber with a bunch of homework surrounding her on my bed. I closed the door and walked over to her and started to pick up the homework and put it in her book bag for her, as I was picking up her homework I noticed that some of these sheets had nothing to do with the stuff we were doing in class and had year 10 witch was next years work. The first thought that came to mind when I saw it was that someone was making her do their homework for them and that made me really mad, but then I read the name at the top that said 'Amber Genevieve Peters' and a note from the teacher at the bottom.

this is the harder work that the principal has asked me to assign. The work is the same work as what the sophomores are doing so if you find it too difficult please let me know.

'what the hell' I thought to myself 'how is she doing Grade 10 work when we only just started grade 9 like a week or two ago' 'why didn't she tell me she was doing a higher level of work' I pushed all those thoughts aside when I remembered that her farther probably told her not to tell anybody. When I finished putting all of her worksheets away I sat the book bag on my desk and went and laid down next to her. After a minute or so she turned around and cuddled up to me with her head on my chest and her arms rapted around my torso. after about an hour of lying there, I heard a yell from my mother.
"Georgie Diner" she yelled
"coming Mum" I yelled back. I rubbed Bambie on the back and said "Bambie we have to get up" she started to stir "Bambie We have to go to diner" I said and she let out a small groan before her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at me "hi Bambie did you sleep well?" I asked as she stared up at me and nodded. after a few seconds, we got up and headed to diner.
"oh... Hi, Amber how long have you been here?" asked my mother as we sat down at the diner table it was then that I noticed that the boy that was sitting with Bambie at lunch
"a few hours" she replied
"oh well stay for diner," my mother said
"ok thank you, Mary," Bambie said as she took in between me and Meemaw
"it's no problem, Sweety," she said as Bambie looked at me and my mother walked back into the kitchen.
"Hi Tam," Bambie said with a tired smile she looked like she was still waking up
"Hi Amber," Tam said and then notice my stare and looked down
"Mary, how's that food coming?" shouted my Farther from his seat in the dining room
MARY: Almost. So,
Vietnam, like in Rambo. I asked Yes. he replied
"That's a cool movie...... Are you in it? "I asked again only for Amber to facepalm at my question
"No" he replied with a look of amusement on his face
"Why would you think you knew his mom?" Sheldon asked Dad talking about a conversation that must have happened before Bambie and I came in.
"All right, Tam. I decided I was gonna make you a real Texas dinner. Barbecued chicken and brisket." said mum as she placed the food on the table
"Thank you," said Tam
"Well, I figured you were probably tired of stuff wiggling around on your plate. Okay, let's say grace. Now, Tam, when I say "Jesus," feel free to say the word "Buddha" in your head." said my mother
"I'm actually Catholic," Tam replied with a nod
"Oh. Well, that's too bad." said my mother coursing Bambie to look over at Tam and Mouth the words 'sorry for them are you ok' and he replied the same way mouthing 'yes it is fine thanks' and for some reason this interaction made me feel weird inside but I didn't know what it was. we all joined our hands together after Sheldon had finished putting his gloves on.
"Thank you, God, for this food, and bless the hands that prepared it. thank you so much for Sheldon's new friend and Thank you for our dear friend who is like my daughter Amber"
"Amen," we all said together
"so Tam how did you and Sheldon meet?" asked my mother
"well, Actually Amber introduced us" he replied and gave Amber a smiling which only coursed my weird feelings to get worse.
"oh, really and how do you Know Tam Amber?" asked My Meemaw
"well I helped him study last year for a group project and we shared a few classes" she replied I was shocked she had known Tam a whole year and didn't mention him once.
"oh ok have you two been friends the whole time?" my Meemaw pressed on
"um no I hadn't spoken to him since the group project and then I saw him the other day in the library so I thought he and Sheldon would get along because Tam is smart too so I thought they would have something to talk about," she said starting to ramble. Amber doesn't have a very strong Texas accent because she moved here when she was seven from Australia, so she has an Australian Accent witch is cool it sounds so nice. but it can get annoying sometimes because she has different names for things and spells things differently, But I am used to it now. she gets a lot of hate from others though because she sounds different and it makes no sense because everyone sounds different it is just because hers is a bit more noticeable.
After diner, I walked Amber to the door and she said good night to my family. but when I went into my room 2 hours later she was claiming through my window in her Pj's and came and laid down in bed with me
"hey, what you doing I thought you went home?" I asked
"yeah I did and now I am back....is that ok?" she replied
"yes of course it's fine," I said after laying there for about 5 mins then she spoke
"Hey Georgie are you still awake?" she asked with her back facing me
"y-yeah w-what's up?" I said as I was yawning
"can I stay here again tonight?"
"yes it's ok........come on," I said holding up the covers so that she could claim under
"Thank you, Georgie," she said in a whisper
"for what?" I said whispering back
"for always being here for me," she said as she nuzzled closer
"I will always be here," I said
"promise?" she said as she turned to face me
"yes" I replied and then fell asleep spooning her with my arm around her torso and the other under her pillow.
