Kazutora slowly opens his eyes, placing a hand in front of his face to block the sudden light that welcomed his eyes, looking around the room, he noticed he was in the hospital
'Did I survive?..' he thought before sitting up on his bed
The door to his room opened catching his attention, seeing a doctor step inside the room, who smiled upon seeing him awake
"You're awake.."the doctor stood beside his bed and looks at him
"What happened?.."he asked looking at him
"You were found unconscious in a nearby park, the parents of the kids that found you were kind enough to bring you here"the doctor explains checking his condition
'Park?.. but I never went to a park.. wait-'
"How long was I asleep?"he asked, knowing well that Chifuyu's gonna scold him for being reckless again
'But.. I was sure I wouldn't survive..' he thought, once he realizes the injury he obtained was far from being able to survive
"You've been asleep for a week, we couldn't contact any of your relatives when we checked your phone, considering they we're all out of reach.."the doctor replied looking at the clipboard in his hand
"What about the date?"he asked confused
"July 4th of 2005"the doctor replied not looking at him, to which he was thankful for because he couldn't believe it
He looks at himself, more or less his arms and legs to check if he has any wounds or bruises before at the doctor, who smiled once he turned his attention to him
"You can leave today, your clothes are in the bathroom"the doctor informs before leaving the room
Kazutora hurriedly leaves the bed and goes to the bathroom to change into his clothes, upon changing.. he realized it was the same clothes that he wore before getting ran over by a truck, his appearance didn't change either
He still has long hair with his front bleached, sandy colored eyes stare right back at him in the mirror, his tiger tattoo visible on his neck and a mole right under his right eye, he stepped out of the bathroom to see the doctor waiting for him
"Here's your stuff, don't worry about the bills. The parents kids were kind enough to pay it for you"the doctor informs before leaving the room
Kazutora went towards the bed and checked his belongings, thankful that his phone was an old model or he would've been questioned about it if he had those touch screen ones, placing his phone and wallet in his back pockets, he made his way out of the hospital, standing in the middle while trying to think of his next move
'Should I look for Takemichi or Chifuyu?.. But what do I say?..' he thought as his feet drags him towards a nearby park
"Bring me my bat!"a voice caught his attention
Turning to the source, he saw five middle school boys kneeling on the ground, while a raven haired male, who's also wearing the same uniform, was looking at them
Kazutora looks at the five middle school boys, noticing someone familiar to him, without a second thought, he ran towards the group and kicked the raven haired male in the face, sending him a few feet away from his previous position, while Kazutora landed in front of the group, who's kneeling on the ground
"Oi! What do you think you're doing?"Kazutora asked looking at the goons of the raven haired male, who was surprised by his sudden appearance
He didn't get a response, considering the raven haired male was unconscious because of his kick, it's been so long since he got into a fight, he forgot how strong he was
"Scram!"with one single word they ran away from the place, carrying their so called leader
Kazutora then faced the group, who's surprised to see him, the male wearing glasses points him in horror
"I-It's Va-Va-Valhalla's number 3!"he spoke surprising the others, except for a certain blonde boy with ocean blue eyes
"Hah?! Who the fuck are you comparing me to?"Kazutora asked, pretending to not know anything
Besides.. Out of anyone, being compared to his past self is what he's trying to avoid, he doesn't exactly know why he's back in the past and what purpose he has of being here
"He's right, Yamagishi. I don't think his hair is long"the raven haired male beside him whispered to his friend
"I can hear you, you know.."Kazutora decided to mess with them, making them flinch, he smirked at this but he doesn't want them to be afraid of him, so he asked"Why do you think I was whoever you were referring to?"as he helps one of them up to their feet
The male wearing glasses, who's revealed to be named Yamagishi, scratches the back of his neck
"You have that tattoo on your neck"he points the tattoo on Kazutora's neck
Kazutora places a hand on it"That doesn't mean he's the only one who can have this tattoo.."he reasoned looking at him
"Go-Gomen!"the male bows in fright
"Don't sweat it.. Come on, your injuries need treatment"he motioned his head towards the entrance with a smile
The group could only follow him, afraid of what might happen to them if they refuse, arriving in a nearby convenience store, Kazutora bought bandages and other things to clean their wounds before patching it up
"Thank you.."the one who has red hair turns to him
"Tora, just call me Tora"he smiled, he'll have to use a fake name for now, not wanting the others to realize who he is
"Atsushi Sendo, but feel free to call me Akkun"the red haired male introduced himself
"Yamagishi.."the male wearing glasses nodded with a smile
"I'm Makoto"the raven haired introduced looking at him
"This is Takuya"Makoto points him, the male could only smile
"Takemichi Hanagaki.."Kazutora turns to him, Takemichi who noticed him staring looks away
"You guys hungry?"he asked after patching up the male named Takuya
"Yes! Oww~"Yamagishi and Makoto spoke in unison but they received a smack on the back of their heads done by Akkun
"It's alright, I don't mind"he smiled at the group, who was really thankful to him
After the group separated, Kazutora decided to stick with Takemichi, thinking about how to approach him
"Tora-kun, this is my stop"Takemichi informs, snapping him out of his thoughts
"Ohh, I'll see you around then.."he smiles before turning around
"Ye-Yeah.."Takemichi nodded, as he watches Kazutora's figure slowly disappear from his view
'Who was that?..' was all Takemichi could ask himself while he enters the park, not really wanting to go home yet
Kazutora meanwhile, doesn't know what he should do, he knows he's back in the past, but why and how did it even happen?..
He has a lot of questions in his mind but he could only focus on one thing for now..
'Where do I go?..' he asked in his head before deciding to check his wallet, seeing the credit card that Chifuyu gave him for his expenses
'I can't use this..' he placed his wallet back in his pockets
Kazutora walks past two blonde boys who was in their own world, the two boys looking back once they passed him
"Who was that, ken-chin?"
"I don't know, but he looks familiar.."
Kazutora meanwhile, decided to look for his past self, internally face palming, once he realized he can't just look for his past self without a plan
'Takemichi doesn't know about me until I went and looked for him.. That will happen in..' Kazutora counted with his fingers
'I still have time.. I'll see what I can do, but right now.. I need a job' he thought, not wanting to touch the credit card that Chifuyu gave him
Besides... It might not even work in this timeline
Kazutora walks around the neighborhood, not wanting his job to be far from the others, lucky for him, he found a job in a convenience store, starting the next day
"Thank you come again.."he smiles as the customer leaves before turning around to fix the displays behind him
"Whoa~ nice tattoo you got there.."Kazutora froze upon hearing his own voice
He takes a deep breath before turning to face the owner of the said voice
"Can I help you?.."he asked with a smile, pretending to be oblivious
"Where'd you get that tattoo?"the male asked"I'm Kazutora by the way.."he introduced himself
"Tora.."he replied, pretending to not hear his question, not wanting to interact with his past self right now
"Are you busy?.."Kazu asked leaning on the counter
"Sorry, but if you're not buying anything, please leave.."he points the door
His past self obeyed and left the store, Kazutora places a hand on where his heart is before taking deep breaths
Kazutora quickly composed himself as two blonde boys enter the store, he turned his back on them as he continued fixing the displays behind him
When he noticed the two walking towards the counter he quickly turned around and scanned the things that they've bought, not making eye contact with them
"Ken-chin, isn't he the one from yesterday?.."the shortest one spoke pointing him, Kazutora stiffened at this, realizing who they are
"Mikey! Don't just point at people"he was scolded by the other blonde, who's head was shaved on the sides, as a dragon tattoo was seen on the left side of his head
Kazutora lips formed into a small smile as he quickly looks at the two"That'll be 10000, sir"he informs and the tall blonde hands him the money"Thank you, come again.."he gives the plastic bag to him
As the two leaves, he can still feel Mikey's eyes on him, like he's burning holes onto his back, making him shiver at the thought
'Looks like it won't be easy after all..' he thought before sitting on a stool in one of the tables outside the store, for his break
It's times like this that he wishes Chifuyu's with him, but he can't waste the opportunity that fate gave him, looking at his hand he didn't notice someone approaching him
"Excuse me, Onii-san~"Kazutora turns towards the voice"Can you help us, we're kinda lost.."the kid admits, not looking at him
"Sure, kid. Where do you live?"he asked with a smile as he looks at the two kids in front of him
Once the kids told him their address, he stood up and removed the apron that he's wearing, locking the door of the convenience store, flipping the sign that's hanging on it before taking one of the kid's hand, while carrying the other with his other arm
"Let's go.."he informs with a smile
"But mister, won't you get fired?.."the kid that he's carrying asked
"Don't worry, I can find another job"he reassured, smiling at her"What were, you doing here anyways?.."he asked curious as to where the kids parents are
"We we're on our way home when a stranger approached us, without thinking, I grabbed my sisters hand and ran and when we realized we lost them.. We didn't know where we were"the kid that's holding his hand explains looking at him
"Is that so?.. Next time, try to find an adult nearby to help you, okay?"he looks at the kids, who nods vigorously, making him chuckle"What's your names, by the way?.."he asked
"I'm Luna, that's my younger sister.. Mana"the girl named Luna pointed her sister in Kazutora's arm
"I'm Kazutora Hanemiya, you can just call me aniki"he smiled looking at the two
