"CHLOE I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU make me run into a door I will never forgive you" I warn holding my arms out feeling the door to my house in front of me, Chloe opens the door and guides me inside I could feel that there were people in my house the room felt warmer than normal but I'll just pretend that I don't know they're there.
"Okay you can take off the blindfold," Chloe tells me as she closes the door
I pull off my blindfold seeing my living room filled with all my friends and family I don't know why my first reaction was to laugh but I did before pulling myself together
"You guys are awful! I can't believe I didn't know about my own birthday party shame on all of you" I joke causing everyone to laugh I walk farther into the room being pulled into different directions for hugs music pouring into the room
I see Madison, Gracie, Claudia, and finneas, claire better known as clairo, my mom, Chloe, Olivia, Conan, my team just to name a few, and finally...
"Happy birthday!" Billie beamed pulling me into a hug, this is the first we've shared in a year and a half and I'm guessing Billie realized that too since she suddenly hugged me tighter her vanilla scent surrounding us my arms are draped over her shoulders and I tuck my face into the crook of her neck the scent of vanilla getting stronger when I did, we swayed side to side neither of us wanting to let go.
I hear a camera shutter go off I pull away from the hug slightly and turn to see Chloe with a polaroid camera and I raise my brow at her with the cheesiest smile on my lips
"What? Gotta get those memories" She smiles innocently before walking away making me chuckle
I pull away from Billie's grip hesitantly before everyone around us felt awkward for us hugging for a second too long
"Thank you for coming, last time we saw each other face to face that was the grammy's right?" I question trying to remember if we bumped into each other during other events but she nods at my question
"Yeah- uh we've been in the same place a few times but never really bumped into each other" She adds awkwardly making me smirk slightly as I tried to suppress my smile
"Oh okay, do you know who planned this whole thing?" I ask and Billie scratches the back of her neck letting out an awkward laugh
"Yeah about that- It was my idea I uh got your friend Chloe to help me since not all of your friends are mine and i-" I cut her off by waving my hands frantically in shock
"YOU planned this?? What the fuck that's literally so cute" I awe making a small blush rise on her cheeks
"So you're not upset I did this?" She asked genuinely surprised
"PFFT- upset? we aren't on bad terms anymore Bil I like how you're making an effort to mend the past" I beamed giving her hand a gentle squeeze
"Now I'm going to enjoy the party you guys threw for me before my social batteries die" I joke letting go of Billie's hand and going to scream the lyrics to 34+35 by Ariana grande

The night had winded down everyone had gathered around singing happy birthday my cake was literally harry's birthday cake from the movies, I literally always wanted that cake for my birthday ever since I watched that movie as a kid
I was currently sitting outside in my backyard leaning against a wall, I wasn't trying to hide it was more of me trying to recharge my social energy, I was pulling out blades of sipping a monster I had grabbed from my fridge humming along to the song that was playing inside, I hear the back door open and close again then footsteps making their way over to me.
"PFFT- Are you hiding?" Billie asked with an amused smile on her face and I roll my eyes
"HA No- I just need to breathe, the music, the people- the everything is a lot for my tiny brain to handle I swear I could feel each stitch in my crop top while I was in there, I wanted to get away before I had a meltdown" I explain with a small smile
"Well mind if I join you?" She added and I nod toward the spot next to me
She sits herself down looking at the pool which is currently lit up as we sit in silence which wasn't an awkward one it was peaceful.
I look over at her, I could only see the side of her face, she was perfect from every angle my heart longed for those days where I would sneak into her hotel room after she'd text me, We never really did anything special we just held each other and admire each other's features there were times where I wanted to kiss her but my heart knew once we locked lips my heart would forever belong to her and at that time it was terrifying but now...
"You're staring" Billie chuckled looking over at me causing my face to heat up and look away
"Sorry- Uh wow it was probably creepy huh" I joke awkwardly making her shake her head
"It's cute the way you look at me makes me feel kind of special" She smiles I turn my head back to look at Billie, her blue eyes hold a tenderness I'd never seen before causing my heart to flutter
"You are special- You hosted this amazing party for me even when you weren't sure if I'd be okay with it because you care about me the least I can do is show you I care about you too, more than you know" I explain muttering the last part but I'm sure she heard it
She smiles softly at me causing me to return it, her eyes flicker down toward my lips the situation bringing back old memories of our first almost kiss but this time I was determined to not get interrupted my eyes flutter down to her lips my heart hammering in my chest as I move closer and she does the same our lips brush against each other wanting nothing more than to complete the kiss.
but I wasn't ready yet, it didn't feel like the right time I tilt my head slightly planting a kiss right next to her lips before pulling away.
"Not yet" I stated as disappointment flashed across Billie's face
"I'm sorry- I thought-" She starts but I shake my head signaling for her to stop
"I was going to but I chickened out, right now doesn't feel like the right time, just- give me a little more time if you can wait for me," I say grabbing her hand giving it a light squeeze which she returned
"I can wait"
