It was just another mission with Sam, like usual she was on guard as she went ahead in the dark warehouse, I watched her back so no one could sneak up on us, we was looking for Kim. She had been kidnapped and it was our job to go fetch her, Sam was even made to leave her weapons at home and was the one carrying the ransom money. The warehouse was dingy and decrepit, there must've been a burst pipe or something as the only sound other than the heels of our shoes clicking against the concrete was a consistent drip.
Drip. Drip. Drip. The further we went into the warehouse it sped up as if the water was running from an unseen foe, you could tell that Sam was getting nervous, she reachedup to her neck, feeling for the necklace that always lay hidden beneath her snowy shirt, A look of genuine surprise and worry crossed her face, I could tell right away.

She forgot to put her lucky charm on.

Weaving in and out of the many crates that were stacked to the height of skyscrapers there was still no sign of Kim, Sam muttered almost in silence,
"For an abandoned warehouse there's a ridiculous amount of crates..."
I nodded slightly in response as I looked around the surrounding area in suspicion.
It was silent. And not the soothing kind.

Click, click, click. Drip, drip, drip.
This was the rhythmic tune we heard on repeat until there Kim sat tied to a chair, I was about to run over to her but Sam stopped me with her arm, I glanced over to her, her eyes already tinted their bright blue ice like shade, something was seriously wrong if she was that much on edge her eyes took on their protective glow, I looked back towards Kim and immediately understood why.

On the phone she was beaten but there wasn't a single bruise on her fair skin. There was no appearance of a struggle from the ropes that bound her. Her hair and clothes was pristine looking and there was no sign of fear in her emerald eyes. Just sheer amusement.
It was then I felt a sudden sharp pain in the back of my neck, it was a small dart, a feeling of drowsiness began to overcome my consciousness, with blurred eyes I saw armed men charging towards us so I tried using my powers but... As soon as I shot a ball of fire. It went crashing to the ground, gone out...

The last thing I saw was spikes of ice shoot out of Sam's hand before I passed out.

I woke up in a room, I was in the middle of it but even still the door was miles away, my powers wouldn't of reached even if the door was wooden, I couldn't destroy it, there was a rhythmic drip echoing in the room, it was different from the last rhythm, moving my hands slightly made the chains that bound me clink against the cold, hard floor behind my back.

I must've been there for hours but it felt more like decades, maybe centuries, there wasn't even a window to inform me if night had already fell, there was just the beating of my heart that was in sync with the dripping, and my thoughts but they went to the beat of their own drum.

Where's Sam? Was she OK? Did she manage to escape and get help? Does anyone even know what happened?

These were the questions that was put on repeat like a tape recorder as I sat there, stewing on how to escape from the empty cube I found myself in. I had almost fallen asleep because of the exhaustive thinking when a pair of red heels illuminated by a new light came into view, lifting my head following the new figure in the room from the feet up, her fair skin, delicate body shape and red mini dress revealed the figure to be Kim even before I saw her golden blonde hair out of its usual ponytail swaying behind her, she wore an innocent smile as she walked towards me, her heels clicking along the floor, as some armed men trailed along beside her she stared down at me. Reaching out she tilted my chin up with one of her talons while saying,
"You shouldn't of come here with her dear sweet Jeffery. We could make a beautiful couple you know? We could."
She moved forward, her lips inching towards mine, I turned away causing her to scowl,
"Fine, your choice."
She said as she kicked me in the gut,
"I'll just go and torture your lil girlfriend instead."
Her heels clicked away as I called out to her,
"Wait! What have you done to Sam?!"
My voice echoed through the room like several me's was calling out at the same time. She glanced back with a sly smile on her face before stating,
"Let's just say I put the rabbit in a cage, it's a lil bit small though."
Before she left again. I tried to call out to her again but got knocked to the ground by one of the guards.

The heavy metal door creaked shut behind them, it didn't sound as though they locked it though, probably because I was chained to the ground, there was no way for me to escape just like at the lab and that's when it hit me...

When me and Star was trapped in a room with an aluminium door a while back we managed to combine our powers to melt the door,
However... There was a chance since there was only me that I wouldn't make it out alive...
No. That doesn't matter, I need to save Sam. If I sit here she'll die anyway and after everything she's done for me... It's the least I could do...
I thought back to when we first met and how... She protected me despite knowing my sins...
Her soft smile when I saw her playing that game, Your Life: New beginnings and eternity...
How one day I hoped to make her smile like that in real life... Not just in the virtual world...
Make all her troubles seem less suffocating...

With my resolution built up and sturdy like a wall, I said in prayer,
"Dear God, I know I haven't been loyal to my faith even though one hundred of the people I murdered in cold blood was bad people but I beg of you... Let me help her, she's been through so much... and is an amazing person... She deserves happiness..."
I focused in channelling my negative emotions into large amounts of heat, channelling it down to my wrists, soon enough I was sweating and my throat felt kind of dry but I carried on, then came the nausea so that meant I was past the 300°C mark which I got up to in my training but I carried on till I felt a scolding sensation on my wrists and felt the restraints disappear.
Panting heavily and wiping the endless amount of beads of sweat off my brow I shakily got up and cooled my temperature down a lot.
I walked towards the door on shaky legs, Very slowly regaining my balance before I threw it open, a guard who was on the other side jumped up and charged towards me with a knife. Just dodging, I knocked the guy unconscious, him and the beautiful shiny object fell to the ground, clattering against the hard stone floor, I heard more footsteps approaching so I picked up the knife, feeling a sense of de ja vu, I remembered the doctor and Samantha Carleton, her cheerful ginger hair stained a dark red as she lay in a pool of her own blood. My mouth turned upwards into a psychotic grin, I began to laugh which stopped the footsteps where they stood. I looked up pushing the hair out of my face to see the horrified expressions on their faces and next thing I remembered was approaching Kim from behind as she kicked Sam on the floor of a tiny crate while screaming,
"Why aren't you reacting at all Sam! At least do something, something similar to what you did when I broke your arm-"
Her words were cut off by the blade that dug into her back, she screamed for help before coughing up blood as her golden locks turned a sickly shade of red surrounding the blade like a fork in a river. Collapsing right in front of me, she reached out for help as I strode over her, crouching down beside Sam, while I raised her up into a sitting position I, I noticed she looked lifeless despite having a pulse, she just sat there like an expressionless doll, just this doll had spots of black and blue forming on it's face and probably more hidden.
I cupped her cold cheeks as I gazed into her lifeless eyes, "I'm sorry... I should've come for you sooner..." I felt the hot tears form as I hugged her porcelain body, when was the last time I cried..? When I was what..? Five..? And now I couldn't help but cry...
After a while I helped her to her feet, she still just stared blankly at me but I wasn't going to just leave her there even if she was broken... She never gave up on me when everyone else did, there was no way I was going to give up on her...
I turned around to come face to face with the guard I knocked unconscious earlier along with some new people who joined the party late, they saw Kim lying in the thick red puddle that oozed out of her, before looking back to me with a look of pure rage, I prepared myself for a fight but when they charged at me, a head of brown hair dashed past me, their black coat flew behind them like wings as they cut down the guards with a sword made of a transparent material. Ice.

I had heard Sam had managed to create a deadly weapon out of her powers but never actually seen it. When the final guard lay bleeding out helplessly, she turned around and I could see the thick red liquid run down the edge of the blade, dropping off to help form an ocean with the rest. Her green eyes now that icy shade of blue, her sword turned back into nothing once again as she walked through the stream of blood, it dawned on me that second, we killed people who weren't on the "National Threats" list. They might've understood but if they didn't then...

The punishment was death...

We was going to have to escape just to be on the safe side...

Ten hours ago Jeffery and Sam left on a mission to bring Kim home, it takes three and a half hours from the Manor to the warehouse Kim was being held captive in and so here I was along with Jack, Ryan and Evan, as soon as we arrived Jack could smell the distinct smell of blood. We could too when we entered the warehouse, we split up into two pairs, Jack and myself and Evan and Ryan before heading in separate directions, Jack led us towards where the scent was strongest and that led us to a small crate standing like a castle surrounded by a moat of blood of many kinds all mingled together, among the corpses lay Kim acting as a drawbridge, her skin was pale and her hair was dyed red, walking over to her carefully in an attempt to avoid getting the sticky residue on my socks and shoes but failed miserably, I crouched down beside her and closed her still open eyes, she was long gone. That was when I noticed not a single blemish was on her fair skin other than the knife sticking out of her back. I looked at the crate more closely and saw the signs of a struggle proven so by the strand of hair and part of a broken nail that was left behind. Putting some new gloves on, I picked them up and placed them in their own bags so James could identify the owner and confirm if my suspicions were true, it was that minute Evan's voice came through on the communicator,
"Star, you'll wanna see this..."
They found something and it didn't seem to be anything good.
Following the directions they gave us, we arrived at a stone room bodies were outside of it, all of their throats slit. We walked through the walls of bodies and then carefully walked through the heavy metal doors frame, heading towards where Evan and Ryan stood in the middle of the room we saw a patch of red sticky fluid and not far behind that was a small pond of liquidised metal, Jack crouched down to smell the blood and when I said,
"It's Jeffery's isn't it?"
He nodded back solemnly before asking,
"How did you know? There was a chance it was someone else's like Sam's?"
I pointed towards the metal that lay mostly in liquid state and said,
"When Sam, Jeffery and myself went on a ghost hunting mission, we got separated, Jeffery and myself was trapped in a room with an aluminium door. I taught Jeffery how we could combine our powers to melt the door, He used that trick here."
Everyone stared back at me before looking at the metallic substance again, I carried on by saying,
"He's lucky he didn't kill himself."
Ryan then chirped in by saying,
"Are we really sure they're still alive..?"
Jack and Ryan's expressions were grave and that's when Evan cleared his throat, we all glanced towards him as he declared,
"If they were dead I would've had to sign their judgement papers so they're definitely alive."
Letting out a sigh of relief Jack and Ryan looked a bit more hopeful and we finished collecting evidence before returning to the Manor.

When we opened the door to the Manor we were shocked by two things,
One, James had left his office in the basement despite it not being meal time.
Two, he was lying there motionless on the floor not far from the door, I rushed over to him and checked for any noticeable wounds. None. He still had a pulse as well, as we all sighed in relief, Jack and Ryan moved James onto one of the sofas and Evan helped heal any injuries he had obtained.
When he came to and we asked what happened, he said,
"I saw Sam and Jeffery come back. They was covered in blood and Sam's eyes were lifeless. I tried to talk to them but next minute Jeffery approached and put his hand on my shoulder like normal but my consciousness began to drift away, I saw him say something to me as he lay me down but I couldn't hear him and my consciousness left after I saw them head upstairs."
We went upstairs to Jeffery's room to see it practically ransacked and Sam's was roughly in the same state.

Eventually we found out who's hair and nail we found at the scene of the crime and just as I suspected.
They were Sam's.
I filled out the report as best as I could as self-defence but even till this day...

We cannot find them...
