" Come back my son. I am very proud of you my son". Alh.Gidado proudly stated. On hearing this Datti turned and went back to were he was seated before and sat back. " Imagine he is proud when he son is rude to his everybody". One of the men said. "Uhm! Uhm!!". Ardo clear his throat, looking at his younger who looks away dodging the his brother's eyes. As he suddenly feel shy on praising his son right on his brother presence.
" Everyone, keep quiet pls and let's continue with the issue that gathered all here pls". Ardo seriously stated. He looks at Datti who has already been seated. " My son carry on, sorry for the intervention". Ardo gently said. Hearing his uncle apologizing make Datti feels very bad for what he did especially how he tried to walk out on them. He understood his actions are also wrong but saying anything about it or applozing would makes those villagers have another chance to taunt him and his Dad, he understands now they have a lot of enemies. And wonder why? what are his parents mistakes? Is it just because they fall in love and runaway?. Those are the questions that are disturbing his thoughts.
" Datti!". Ardo call out to him. Seeing him lost in thoughts. Datti shake his head quickly trying to gras his concentration back. " On reaching them I tried to make them understand what they are doing is wrong. As everyone here's know it was wrong to misbehave with any woman no matter what both islamically and traditionally". Datti gently stated. His head was looking down as he was talking while playing with the mat. " Yes! Yes!! The boy is right". The crowd started talking. "Yes what he did back there was good". Badde said, nodding his head at the same time. Many of them agreed he did right by saving her honor.
Ardo is very pleased by Datti statements. He closes both his eyes his face was filled with so much happy. On seeing his brother smiling Alh.Gidado feel very proud and happy with Datti's deeds. " Why are you people busy praising this boy? If he was just explaining lovingly and doing what was right then how did Manga end up in that critical condition then". Tukur try again to complicate the situation by opposing there praises on Datti.
All looks turns back at Datti again. " Is a mistake, I didn't did it to hurt him rather did it to save myself from him". Datti said. All are surprised by these statements. " When I was about to leave Manga said he won't let me go as he has to kill 2birds with one stone since i am his rival. Despite how he keep trying I keep on ignoring him and I try to leave when suddenly he started attacking me he and his friend, while trying to defend myself I pushed him by accident that's when he fall down on the ground". He end the last word with a very low voice.
There was quite mode suddenly like an empty place. " We are about to leave me and her". He said motioning Yidi with his face. " When he friend started screaming calling out his name. I turned back to check quickly that's when I saw him laying there on the ground. I took my phone and on touchlight that's when we saw blood coming from his head, before we could do anything his father arrived at the scene suddenly. I wanted to explained to him but seeing his son laying unconscious he started screaming and shouting, and she dragged me away and leaves with me". He said looking at Yidi who's head is down now. " That is how we managed to returned home. I am disturbed since last night leaving him unconscious is a worst thing to me as I don't want to be blamed in anyway". He added looking at his father.
" Well to me I don't know about other's, but what you did from the start is a good thing. It shows how good and trained you are, and also it shows you are a good person and brave also". " Yes I also agree with Mal.Bello Datti has an hon...". " This is wrong". Tukur angrily said. " Tukur why do you like troubles?". Badd'e asked. " Because I don't believed in anything this boy is telling us, that is why I suggest if we will wait for Manga to get better first so that it can be discuss in there presence before we jumped into conclusion". Tukur angrily stated.
" Hmm Tukur, since when did you and Jauro become this closed? Because I don't remember you and him as a good friends not talk of you becoming his pet suddenly. So tell me since when?". Ba'dde said. " When and how is not your business and infact I am not in anyone's back I just want the right thing to be done that's it!". Tukur furiously said, glancing at Ba'dde. " Calm down all of you please, we are here to solve something not to become enemies". Mal.bello said. He turned back to Tukur who is looking very furious. " And you Tukur, what were you saying? Don't you know the reason why we are here in the first placed. Ardo call for this meeting on behalf of Jauro's, and why didn't he attend the meeting is his problem as he make accusations about his son being in bad situation and now that we are here to look into the matter he is no where to be seeing. So wether he is here or not, nothing will changed". Mal.bello added.
" That I...". " I am not done talking Ba'dde". Mal.bello cut out Ba'dde. Everyone is surprised by Mal.bello. " as I was saying no one should also forget that Jauro is my cousin and also almost all of us have some blood relation to one another which is why we are all brothers. With just that we can decide for one another which is how strong blood relations are and also can decide for our children". He sighed. " So i have made decision regarding the situation as respected elder among and also as a father to our children that Ardo's daughter should Marry this young boy Datti". He added motioning Datti with his finger.
" Impossible! How can you decide on such a thing? Do not forget Ardo make promise to you and Jauro so how can yo...". " Shut up Tukur!". He shouted at him. Which makes even Ardo surprised as Mal.bello is never like this infact is unsual, he has never being the type to make decision even if he asked him to support him or make it when having issues in the village. " I know you all are surprised. Well i think it's for good of everyone and also our children. And Ardo never made any promise when i approached him about my son and his daughter he neither reject or accept, nor did he made me any promises and neither to Jauro. But he just felt bad as a man of Honor he don't want us to feel bad and marry her off to his brother's son so that we won't feel betrayed or feel like outsiders". He said his last word looking at Ardo and smiles.
" So it would be proper if we let Boddo marry this young man here who has been proving to be worthy of her. No Sharo will take place! And also tomorrow is Friday i also know how adamant Jauro and his son can be so the wedding will take place as soon as possible and tomorrow is the right time after Juma'at prayer". He stated happily. There was noise all over some are happy and while some are not. One of the unhappy one is Datti who is feeling like his world is turning black trampling like his heart is. Both Ardo and Alh.Gidado are speechless by Mal.bello's move. and nobody dare's to argue or challenged his decision.
" And yes, I will like to tell you all i am going to do everything that a father does to his son to our loving Datti, after all we have never had chance to support our brother Gidado's children because they are not her. Now that they are here with us we will do I will do everything starting from dowry and other things it will be done by me". This make everyone stunned. Ardo is very happy like it was one of the best news he has ever heard so is Alh.Gidado. some are cursing Manga for what he did for himself and now he lost it all.
Ardo ask Yidi to go back inside the house due to the noises. Everyone left happy Mal.Bello continue discussing on the wedding preparation with Ardo and some. While Datti and Ahijjo went back to there room Datti continues blaming and cursing himself for defending Yidi had he known it will lead to him marrying that village girl he wouldn't have done it even if they will raped her. But there is some part of him that is glad to have saved her asking had it been one of his sister's in such situations would he have left them or ignored them.

" Why are you here?". She asked staring at him. " Don't ask me that Atine because is not the reason why I called you here. Besides that stupid child has madee it had for me to face them because of what he did to that girl Yidi". He said sounding very sad. " He is shameful gaskiya. But is not his fault also you haven't kept him under control all these years, and I have a feeling that he is going to loose that girl to that boy what's that his name.....". " Datti!". He hurried said.
" But it is not a failure even if she end of marrying Datti or do you forget my blood also runs through his veins?". He added. She nod her head. " How could i ever forget that day when i help you get closer to that witch Shatu and despite all that you made me a looser by achieving nothing in returned. But how are you planning to go with things what if they denied you of your son what then?". She said staring at him.
He grin. " Do you think i will standstill and watch that looser Gidado to continue fathering my son when i can finally see mine and Shatu handsome son? Our blood together the fruit of the love we shared. Never! over my dead body!". He said. Ending the last word with so much anger. " Calm down". She said shooking her head. " Now is not time to get worked up! Rather it's time to come together with a good plans to claims what's rightly yours". She added. He sighed. " We will do that in no time. Let's meet tomorrow I just called to informed you to not worry if they decide to give Datti her hand in marriage since he is my son also so is a good thing. And anyway Manga is very useless like his mother so Datti will be my good son that will bring me good fortune". He said smiling.
" Stop smiling and make your brain useful at once for goodness sake so that you won't end up smiling and not getting anything at last ok". She stated laughing at him. " Alright now let me go I am sure the meeting will have end by now". He quickly said looking around the bushes. " Let's leave before anyone sees us, bye". She said and left quickly. Bother went on their separate ways.
