Chapter Twenty Seven
"What" Rayne breathed out.
Anne smiled sadly at her "I'm sorry Rayne but the test I had done on you when you first got here show that you are pregnant"
"But, but, isn't too soon to tell?" She stuttered.
"You are a were lion Rayne your body works similar to ours, as soon as the embryo is fertilised it releases a chemical into our body that helps our body to prepare for the pregnancy. This shows up in our blood almost immediately" Anne told her.
"So," Rayne began to say but paused for a moment to let everything sink "What you're saying is Marcus may have impregnated me when he..he" She stopped not able to finish the questions.
"I'm sorry Rayne, but yes you could be pregnant from when Marcus had taken you" Anne.
Rayne squeezed her eyes closed "When can I find out if it's his?"
"There are test that can be done while you are pregnant, they are not a hundred precent safe and can cause a miscarriage, or you can wait until the child is born." Anne told her
Rayne nodded her head slowly but didn't say anything.
"Rayne are you ok?" Liam asked, he placed a hand on her back and started to rub it. "No matter what happens or what you decide I am here for you"
Rayne looked over at Liam "You still want me?" she asked, disbelief could be heard in her voice.
Liam couldn't help the growl he let out "Of course I want you, nothing could ever change the way I feel about you Rayne"
"Even if I'm not carrying you baby" She said softly as she lowered her head in shame.
Liam slipped two fingers under her chin and lifted her head up gently so he could look her in the eyes "Even if I didn't conceive this child I will still love it as my own" He told her.
Rayne let out a loud sob, Liam grabbed her in her arms and held her while she cried. "I feel so disgusting, my skin feels so dirty, he touched me everywhere Liam and I couldn't stop him"
Liam closed his eyes trying to hold in the anger he was feeling towards Marcus "Tell me what I can do to help you Rayne, tell me how I can make this all better for you?"
She didn't answer him right away, she couldn't believe that even though Marcus had forced her to have sex with him and she could be carrying his child he still wanted her, he even wanted to help her through this. "I love you Liam" She said softly.
Liam pulled back and look her in the eyes again "There is nothing in this world that I love more then you Rayne"
The sound of the medical room door opening broke their moment. They both looked over to see Rayne's father standing there. He looked nervous and UN sure about whether he was allowed to approach her.
"Daddy" Rayne said with a sob.
That was all the permission Cole needed, in a flash he was by her side holding her in his arms "I'm so sorry baby girl, this is all my fault."
"No Dad it's not, please don't blame yourself," Rayne said pulling away from his arms.
"I should have been there for you I should have been more worried about what had happened to you instead of worrying about what your mother was doing to my brother, I know I done deserve your forgiveness Rayne. But know that I love you, you are and always will be my baby girl" He pulled her back into his arms and hugged her tightly
"Don't be silly dad it wasn't your fault there is nothing to forgive, it wouldn't have matted if I didn't go outside by myself, Marcus would have found a way to get me. His wolf is crazy" Rayne shivered at the thought of Marcus's wolf.
"Is Rayne well enough to leave?" Rayne heard her mother ask Anne. She felt her father stiffen in her arms. His wolf obviously not liking the thought that her and her mother will be leaving soon.
"Aside from the bite marks Rayne's body seems to have healed all other wounds, I'm more concerned with her mental well being, but I think as long as she has the support of her family she should be well enough to leave when she feels up to it" Anne answered.
"Rayne, sweetie do you feel well enough to leave and go to the Prides house?" He mother asked.
Rayne shook her head "Mum as much as I want to get out of this pack house I won't be leaving without Dad or Jesse, so I suggest you and dad talk through whatever it is you are going through so we can get out of here."
"Rayne do you think staying here is such a good idea?" Liam asked, he was standing behind her dad, Rayne looked over at him and could see the concern on his face
"No I don't" She said softly "But I refuse to lose any more of my family so until they sort it out I'm not leaving"
Liam sighed "Ok Rayne I will support whatever you decide, I will let my parents know so they can bring me some clothes so I can stay with you" Liam said as he walked around her father and leant into Rayne and kissed her on the top of the head. "I won't be long, I love you"
Rayne smiled at hearing that "I love you too Liam"
She watched as Liam walked out of the medical room closing the door softly behind him.
Rayne then looked over at her mother "Rayne sweetie we can't stay here not after everything that's has happened"
"I know that mum, so you best get talking to dad and work your shit out" Rayne growled, her mother was starting to annoy her, yes her father was a little more concerned about his brother at the time her mother was attacking him. He didn't really know what was going on, AJ was his brother he didn't believe that his brother would do something like that to his own daughter, Rayne understood all this and her mother needed to stop being stubborn and forgive him or her rejection could possibly kill Rayne's father.
"Fine" Her mother said with a sigh. "Cole could you come help me pack Rayne's thing? We can..........Talk while we are packing"
Cole nodded his head at Rayne's mother before bending down and kissing Rayne on the head and walking out of the room.
"Don't worry Rayne they will sort it out" Anne said before leaving the room also.
Rayne let out a huge breath and laid herself back down. She needed a few moments to herself to think over everything that has happened.
The sound of the door opening had Rayne looking in that direction Jesse walked in looking sad and nervous.
"Jess what's wrong?" She asked
He looked at Rayne "What wrong? Rayne you had just been kidnapped and..................had things done to you and your asking me what's wrong?"
Rayne frowned at him "Yes"
He shook his head "Nothing Rayne I'm fine, I'm just worried about you" He explained
"Oh, well I am going to be fine too Jesse so you can stop your worrying" She told him.
"But your pregnant Rayne" He said softly.
"I am" she said nodding her head "And there is a good chance the child is Liam's, if it's not Liam has told me he will help me raise the child so there is nothing to worry about.. As far as I am concerned the child is Liam's"
Jess smiled "I'm glad you found him"
"Me too" She said softly.
"Can" Jesse started to speak but paused "I know I don't have any right to ask this" He finally said "But can I come with you when you leave?"
Rayne smiled at her brother "I would really like it if you did Jesse"
"Really?" He asked as his eye lit up
"Of course really, you are my brother and I will always want you around"
"Even after everything?" he asked softly
"It's in the past Jesse, I have already lost Thia I don't want to lose you too" She said softly.
Rayne watched as tears welled up in his eyes "How are you dealing with her death?" She asked
Jesse shrugged "She was a bitch and she made your life hell but I still loved her, so it hurt that's she is really gone for good"
"I know, I'm so sorry about that Jesse if I had done things differently she would still be here today"
"No Rayne don't blame yourself, it was her fault she was so obsessed with making your life hell she didn't consider for one second the consequences for her actions"
They both sat the in comfortable silence after that. Thinking about their sister who although was a bitch and made Rayne's life hell. But didn't deserve to die the way she did.
"I know" Rayne said softly, she closed her eyes as the memory of her sister's death flashed before her eyes.
"He is going to pay for what he did when we find him" Jesse told her "There are wolves out there now searching everywhere for him. It's only a matter of time before he is found."
Rayne couldn't help the shiver that went through her body at the thought of Marcus still out there. "His wolf is crazy" She whispered.
The door to the room opened before Liam walked into the room. He noticed Jesse standing there next to Rayne. "Jesse can I talk to you outside for a moment?" He asked.
"Yeah sure" Jesse said nodding his head.
Liam gave Rayne a small smile "We won't be gone long" He said to her.
Rayne watched as Jesse walked out of the room, Liam followed before closing the door behind him.
She let out a loud sigh before wondering what Liam was up too.
