Cleo's pov
Leaving Salem was the hardest decision I ever had to make. There was nothing left for me here. I mean Dani got a new friend group, me and max broke up, Allison stopped talking to me for whatever reason. Mom and Dad died, I wish I could tell you how.
Maybe they died from old age, maybe it was a freak accident, maybe they killed each other. I will never know and that alone scares me more than anything.
I was in my room packing when I heard a knock on my door and I looked up to see Allison standing there with a smile
"Oh look who's finally back" I said to her and she tilted her head in confusion
"What do you mean?" Allison asked oblivious to what I meant
"Nothing, what are you doing here?" I asked and she tilted her head
"I heard you were leaving and wanted to see if it was true" She said and I nodded
"Well it is" I stated and she sighed running a hand through her hair
"Why?" She asked
"WHY? Allison , my parents are dead. I have to leave, I'm only 17 I could be put in foster care until I'm 18. I can't stay here, there's nothing for me here anymore anyway" I exclaimed
"I'm here, max is here" She said and I scoffed
"NO ALLI YOU LEFT ME ALONE. YOU LEFT, MAX LEFT AND NOW I HAVE NO ONE, NOT YOU, NOT MY MOM OR MY DAD, NOT MAX AND LORD HELP ME IF DANI STILL WANTS TO BE AROUND ME. IM ALONE"I shouted and allison grew tears in her eyes
"Cleo please" Allison pleaded
"No you know what just get out, go , leave, get out" I pointed to the door and Allison left with tears streaming down her face. After about 2 more hours of packing things up and driving to goodwill to sell them. I was finally done and leaving.
I put everything in the u-haul I was able to get last minute with my driver's license. I closed the front door of my house and I turned to see Dani standing there
"Dani?" I asked and she ran over hugging me
"Please don't leave, I need you , please" Dani started to plead with tears streaming down her face and I grabbed ahold of her shoulders lightly pushing her back and kneeling down wiping her tears
"Hey you still have max" I told her and she shook her head sniffling
"No , you're better than max , stay please" she said again and I sighed
"I can't Dani I'm sorry" I told her and she sighed
"Why?" She asked
"There's nothing here for me anymore , you're growing up Dani and I promise that I'll be back in no time okay" I explained and she nodded
"Be back soon" she said and she watched me climb into the seat of the u-haul. I started to car and I drove away knowing that Allison was across the road waiting for Dani
-that was 8 years ago-
I'm now 25 and have a stable job with 2 kids and my husband Ryland. Our kids were named Maya and Oliver. Maya was 3 years old and Oliver was just recently born. I have wanted to go back to Salem for a while now and I think I'm going to.
I got into my car with Maya and I drove all the way home. I got to my old house and looked at it. Still looked the same and felt the same
"Cleo?" I heard from behind me and I turned to see Dani standing there
"Dani?" I asked and she nodded as she walked over and hugged me
"And who's this little one?" She asked me and I smiled at Maya
"I'm Maya" Maya said but it sounded like I ama but Dani got the gist
"Well nice to meet you Maya" she said and then looked at me
"It's been a while" she stated and I nodded my head
"I know I'm sorry" I told her and she shrugged
"It's fine, I get it now" she exclaimed and I smiled at her softly but it was sad
"I'm sorry that you didn't understand when it happened , I should've stayed and explained" I stated and she shook her head softly
"No you did what was best for you, wanna go to the park to talk?" She asked and I looked at Maya as she smiled
"Seems good" I told Dani and I got in my car following behind her car until we got to the park and got out sitting next to each other
"So what happened to max and Allison?" I asked Dani and she shrugged her shoulders
"I honestly don't know, they started dating and then broke up and then got back together and broke up again. This happened about 5 times until they got tired and Allison up and left. Max was heartbroken and applied to a college finally getting in and moving away" she said and I sighed
"And he left you with your parents?" I asked and she nodded
"It's not as bad as it seems" she said and we looked into each other's eyes
" I really missed you kid" I told her and wrapped my arm around her as she wrapped hers around me
"Not a kid anymore" she said into my arm and I chuckled at her words
"You'll always be a kid to me Dani" I stated and we laughed together as Maya joined in.
It felt good to be back home
