Pranit's POV:
I am in my cabin,standing in front of the huge glass window which gives the view of whole city.I am continuously watching the beautiful view of the city but my mind is in some deep thoughts.
My intense thinking was interrupted by the sudden "thud" of the door indicating someone's entry.
I know who it is,no one inspite of him will dare to enter in my cabin without knocking.I turned around to correct my suspection, and guess what? I am right!
"Bro, congrats! What an achievement man, I am so proud of you" Siddhart enthusiastically wished me.
"When are you going to make me proud Sid,better you take your work seriously too" I replied him.
"Come on! bro this is rude,I just congratulated you and ignoring that fact you started lecturing me.... I am hurt" he said dramatically.
I annoyingly replied"Oh stop your drama now"
Sid rolled his eyes and sat on the chair near my desk and I took a seat on the opposite side of the desk.
"Aren't you happy Pranit, you won the Best businessman of the year award..... if I would have been in your place my happiness might had no limits"he said exaggeratingly.
I said" It's nothing Sid,I haven't achieved something great. I still need to achieve a lot".
Sid nodded his head in disapproval and was about to say something but was interrupted by a voice.
"Great Pranit, great! What you said was very true" Tushar Uncle spoke while entering in the cabin.
I hurriedly went towards him and touched his feet,he gave me blessings.
Uncle smiled at me and said"Of course you need to achieve a lot and you will surely achieve it, but you should try to enjoy your smallest success too because it is the outcome of your immense efforts".
I nooded in agreement "Yeah, Uncle I understood".
"Yeah, he understands only when you explain him Dad" Sid spoke while mocking me.
Uncle chuckled and asked Sid"When will I get the privilege to feel proud for you my Prince Charming".
"Real soon, my Handsome Highness!" Sid replied making Tushar uncle burst in laughter while I gave a plain smile as I rarely laugh.
Our laughing session was interrupted by a knock.
"Sir ,we need to leave now for the function" my PA Raj informed.
"Yes, sure" I replied.
After a while we all (as in Tushar Uncle, Sid, Raj and me) walked out and made our way towards the elevator.As soon as the elevator halted at ground floor we all walked out , all my employees bowed in respect.
We reached near my car and we all settled in.After around an hour we reached our destination.The Award ceremony was taking place at one of my hotel itself.All the staff started greating and congratulating me for the achievement.I gave a small smile to all as they are also a part of my achievement.Then I started to inspect the decorations on my own, as I don't want any mistakes in today's function.Today many businessmen will attend this function. So I don't want them to find out any flaw in my arrangements.
After a while there was hustle bustle everywhere.Many people started to gather in the hall, my staff was very well managing them all.People started to appreciate the decorations , arrangements and then I was satisfied.Rajnath uncle also came to attend the function and I was really happy on his arrival as he is like a father figure to me.The function started in a while and we all settled down.After the distribution of several awards my name was called.
"....and the Best Businessman of the year is none other than Mr.Pranit Verma of
Verma Enterprise, who is continuously winning this title from last 5 years" there was a huge round of applause and My cringy friend started whistling making me embarrass.I walked towards the stage in all my glory I can feel many eyes on me, but ignoring them I took the award.
"...Thank you so much for giving me this award.I would like you all to know that this not my individual effort but a team effort.So I will thank my staff and employees of all the branches for doing their work perfectly.Also I would like to thank Tushar Uncle, Siddhart and Rajnath uncle for supporting me always.Thank you all once again, and please enjoy yourself "I ended my speech and went back to my seat. Everybody came and congratulated me for my success.The Function was a huge success and everybody left after sometime.Tushar uncle and Sid too went as they wanted to attend an important meeting tomorrow.Rajnath uncle went back to the orphanage.
I left the hotel almost late in the night by car.Sometimes later I reached my apartment.I opened my door and was welcomed by silence.My maid and cleaner leave the apartment as soon as their work is done.So after coming from my office I am all alone.I removed my blazer kept it on the table and sat on the sofa.
Closing my eyes, my mind again began to wander in deep thoughts.The Silence in the room was killing me, but I am used to it.I have achieved everything I wished but still I am not satisfied for some reason.It's like some piece of the puzzle of my life is missing, without which I am incomplete.I stopped the chain of my thoughts and went in my bedroom.After changing my clothes, I took sleeping pills . Sometimes later my eyes started closing on their own and sleep took over me.
