"Is this the part of our relationship where you finally murder me?"
Chungha held onto George's right hand as he stood behind her with his left over her eyes, darkening her vision for a 'surprise' that he had spent two days planning.
"We'll save that for the one year mark," he played into her joke, gently letting go of her hand to reach over and flick the light off. He glanced around to make sure that everything was in place when his eyes fell onto something on the coffee table.
A condom with a note next to it that said: don't be silly, wrap your willy! — v, jm, jk ;)
George rolled his eyes. He should've known they would've pulled something like that when he allowed them to help.
"Okay, are you ready?"
"Yes- wait no. No I'm scared. Don't move your hand i need to practice my fake smile I'm case I don't like it." She held onto his wrist, keeping his hand in place.
George snorted behind her. "If you don't like it, feel free to hurt me."
She finally let go of his wrist, and he carefully removed his hand from her eyes emitting a gasp from her. Roses were peppered all over the floor leading up to the kitchen where a candle lit dinner had been prepared.
"It's not much, but my dad did this for my step mum one time when I was fourteen and I just remembered always wanting to do it for my future wi-" he cut himself off with an awkward cough as Chungha looked up at him with big eyes. "Future girlfriend."
She gave him a pout. "Hmm shame. Kinda liked future wife better."
He choked on his spit, making her grin. She then patted his chest and turned back to the table.
"Shall we?"
George smiled. "We shall."
As his father did all those years ago, George pulled out Chungha's chair for her. Once the two were seated, George felt his nerves getting to him. What if she didn't like the gift? What if she decided to break up with him for being too cliché?
"My Love? Are you okay?" George snapped out of his thoughts and met Chungha's concerned gaze. "Why do you look like you're about to have an emotional breakdown?"
"I was going to wait until after I served us food but I physically cannot eat before doing this," he blurted out, reaching under the table to pull out the box of dozen roses and a small velvet box.
Chungha's eyes widened.
"Chaeri helped me get these - also I bought her flowers too for helping, I hope you don't mind."
"I would never mind, she's a close friend to both of us who's had it rough recently, im glad you got her some," Chungha assured him with a smile before grabbing her roses and peering down at them. "They're so beautiful."
George fumbled with the velvet box in his hands, trying to figure out how to give it to her. After a few seconds, he just held it out.
"Here."
Chungha placed down her roses and gently took the box from his hands. She seemed hesitant.
"George... this better not have been expensive."
Her boyfriend's ears turned red as he refused to meet her eye. "It wasn't... much."
She frowned at him, before turning to the box. Gently, she opened it up to reveal the most beautiful necklace she had ever seen. It was a necklace seemingly from Cartier with a Sapphire coloured stone.
Chungha gaped.
"George," she breathed out, pressing a hand to her heart. "This is- oh my god."
By this point, George had slid to the floor and crawled under the table. She jabbed him with her foot, before leaning down to look at him.
"This is far too expensive."
"Nothing is too expensive for you," he squeaked out nervously, curling himself up into a ball.
"George this must have cost a fortune! I'm going to murder you!"
"I blame Chaeri! She didn't stop me!"
"This is not on Chaeri! And I know she will kick your ass for telling on her! Get up here!"
George scrambled to get up from under the table, as Chungha stood up. She stared at him with a glare, and stepped forward causing him to flinch. Expecting a slap to the chest, he was pleasantly surprised when she wrapped her arms around him.
"I love it," she mumbled against his chest.
George reluctantly circled his arms around her body. "Y-you do?"
"I do." Suddenly, she started to squeeze him much tighter causing him to gasp for breath. "But you are on a spending ban. You are not allowed to buy me this expensive stuff!"
George was almost blue in the face as she continued to squeeze him.
"Gosh! You're strong," he choked out.
Finally, she let go of him causing him to gasp for breath, holding his chest.
"I'll accept the gift, but no more."
"Not even for Christmas?" He asked, daring to peek up at her.
She sighed. "Okay maybe that's an exception."
He grinned. "I wasn't going to listen to you anyway."
"Of course you weren't, you're a man."
"Hey!"
