Rosalie's pov ~

I walked along the streets of New Orleans for the second time this year, except instead of Rebekah by my side, it was the man I've loved dearly for over a millennium, and the loving brother in law who has been getting on my nerves since the day I joined this family.

New Orleans had changed tremendously since 1919. Ribbons and flags floated around, while jazz bands lead the way through the busy streets. Everyone looked happy, unknown to the dark side of this city.

This city was full of death, torture, and things most people will never experience in their long, yet short lives. Although every human claims at least once in their lives that they wish to know if the supernatural world exists, once you are involved, your life will forever be dedicated to it.

"Would you mind telling me about the girl we are about to see?" I questioned, looping arms with Elijah. "The young girl, Davina, was involved in a witch sacrifice. Marcel saved her before they could complete it, and now she holds the power of all the other girls that were involved." Elijah sadly explained.

"Let me guess, it was the harvest." I sighed. "Bloody witches and their insistent need for power." I'd read upon the harvest with Kol, and to say I was sicken by their behaviour was a understatement.

Looking up, I realised we were at the same church Niklaus had stashed me in. "This is where she's staying? Least Marcel could do is get her a bonnie apartment to stay in."

Niklaus left us to distract the priest and his niece, while we went to see the teenage witch. Davina stood in front of a easel, Scribble around a piece of paper with charcoal. Elijah leant against the door frame, knocking.

A striking grin coated her face, before slightly dimming once noticing me by his side. "Who are you..?" she cautiously stepped back. "Rosalie, but you're more than welcome to call me rose. I don't come in any harm, just wishing to meet the girl who kept my husband safe in his unconscious state." I softly spoke. "May I come in?"

She glanced over to Elijah, silently questioning him for approval. Receiving a nod, she welcomed me in. The place wasn't as bad as I thought it be. For a make-do teenagers bedroom, it was surprisingly beautiful.

"I made you a promise." He lifted the cloth off the grimoire pages, showing her. Davina's face lit up at the sight. "It's a spell of unknotting?"

"This is a sanguinum knot." I moved towards her bed, sitting down. "The witches use it as representational magic. If you can unknot this using that spell, you will have taken a step towards learning control. This is one of my mother is laws later spells. It requires much more power than you realize. Now, if you can perform this, then we shall return with another page." I explained.

"One of your choosing, next time," Elijah added. We both began to make our way out of the attic, but just as I reached the door I stopped and faced her. "Don't be scared to come to me for anything, Davina. You don't deserve to be involved in all of this." she gave me a quick appreciative smile, returning back to reading the spell pages.

Grasping our hands together, we made our way outside, to pay a little visit to Rousseau's.

Entering Rousseau's, we were met with sabine laying mildly unconscious on the floor. "Not the best place to take a snooze." I sarcastically commented, as Elijah helped her up. "What happened?" he questioned her.

"It was Agnes." she rubs her head. "Her men took Sophie." she has to be joking right now...

"Day one with you in charge, brother, and already the witch linked to Hayley has been abducted by zealots." klaus commented, attempting to keep his cool. "Where is she?" I questioned the witch.

"If I tell you where Agnes is, you'll just kill her." Sabine panicked. "Isn't that obvious?" Niklaus sarcastically muttered.

"Look, I know she's a little...coo-coo, but she's our last living Elder. That might not mean a lot to you, but it means plenty to us. The Elders are the one ones who can do important spells."

"Like completing the Harvest ritual?" I took a few steps towards the witch. Confusion riddled her face. "You know about that?"

"May of read a thing or two in the past." I provoked. "Allow me to entertain you with today's list of priorities. One, unlink your friend Sophie so she no longer controls the fate of the woman carrying my child. Two, convince my brother and sister-in-law to accept my heartfelt apologies for some recently dodgy behavior. Three...there is no three."

"I believe what my brother is attempting to communicate, here, is that neither the life of this Elder, nor the Harvest ritual, nor your coven's connection to magic are of any relevance to him, whatsoever. Now talk."

————

Sabine has given us a few hints as to where Agnes had most likely taken Sophie. After searching around Lafayette cemetery, we eventually found Sophie restrained in one of the crypts.

she groaned as klaus and Elijah broke the shackles. "Agnes stuck me with a needle. Cursed objects were created a long time ago. We use them so we don't get busted by Marcel for doing magic. The one she used is called the Needle of Sorrows-" I cut her off.

"It has only one purpose: to kill a child in utero by raising her blood temperature," I mumbled. It was a well known cursed object created in the 1860s, and was one of the most reliable ways of miscarriage.

"It's for a miscarriage." I looked over to the boys, whose faces were covered in a mix of bewilder and fury.

"So, how much time do we have to fix this?" Elijah turned to face Sophie. "It will do what it's meant to by tonight's high tide. And believe me, it will work. I saw her use a similar object on a kid who went mad and killed a bunch of priests."

"I'd like to have a chat with this Agnes. Where can I find her?" klaus stepped forward in a threatening manner. "You won't. There are a thousand places she could hole up to wait it out."

"That's precisely why we need to unlink you from Hayley. No more danger toward her or the child." I explained. This situation had doubled in pressure. This was no longer just a small task we had hoped to get done today; this was the life of our future family.

Sophie began frantically shaking her head. "No, what? If I am not linked to Hayley, I lose my leverage on you. We had a deal!" she hissed. "We are not on the same side, Sophie Deveraux. Our deal no longer stands!" Elijah stepped in.

————

"What the hell is she doing here?" Rebekah snapped at Sophie as we entered the room. "I'm trying to help." the witch sighed.

"Help? You're the reason we're in this bloody mess! Why aren't we unlinked with this witch already, Rose, Elijah?" the blonde exclaimed. "Rebekah, let her do what she can." At this point, I was past exhausted from talking to people.

"I may know a way to slow the fever down. But, I'm gonna need some special herbs." she looked over to Rebekah. "I'll text you a list."

"Fine. Happy to play the fetch girl." a patronizing smile made its way to her face, before she stomped out the room, shoving the towel she had in her hand into Elijah's chest.

"How are you?" I questioned Hayley, sitting down beside her. "I-i feel as if I'm on fire." she groaned in pain. "i promise you, it will stop soon. You just have to push through until Davina finishes the spell." I attempted to comfort her, pushing the baby hairs off her forehead.

"W-will the baby be ok?" The werewolf panicked. "I'm not letting anything happen to that baby, Hayley."

"She needs to cool down. I suggest we get her outside." Sophie advised.

This is just a filler chapter, so I'm sorry if it was a lil boring.
