Ary-
Me and Liyah are heading back to college today and I honestly was dreading it. This week flew by, and I actually had so much fun.
Janiyah had got dropped off at the house since she had rode down here with us, and Omari was getting ready to go back with jr.
"We'll be up there next week." Jr told Janiyah and she nodded
Even though she was leaving me was happy that jr snapped into reality and started treating her how she deserved. It was selfish for me to even be mad in the first place because at the end of the day ther was all I really wanted for them.
Living on my own shouldn't be a problem as long as I get approved to do so, if not the most ther I would have to do is go apartment hunting and move somewhere that I can have a single lease.
My ma came downstairs with London in her arms who was rubbing her eyes.
"Did you just wake up ?" I asked before taking her and she nodded
"Chick-fil-A?" She asked and I smacked my teeth
"Girl." Liyah chuckled
"Ma what happened?" Jr asked before furrowing his eyebrows and feeling the scratch on her face
"Rough night." She waved off and he squinted his eyes
"Rough like what ?" Liyah asked and she rolled her eyes
"Rough like my business." She told us
"You know what... Ima ask Zay." I said before putting London down and she smacked her teeth
"Why yall in my business ?" She chuckled as everyone trailed behind me causing her to groan loudly
"What happened ?" Jr asked and he looked at my man who shook her head.
"Y'all like to react like me and I don't want my situation fucking up a bond, I'm good it's over." My ma said and I sighed before hearing a knock at the door
"I got it." Liyah sighed before going downstairs
All of us except for my ma followed Liyah and she opened the door to my daddy, Brian, and Ari. Ari had a few bags in her hand, so she asked in before handing one each to us.
"Awe what's this ?" I asked
"Just little care packages, I tried to slip some za in there but y'all's daddy was being a bitch like always-
"Dude shut the fuck up-
"Daddy !" London interrupted before running around the corner and he swooped her up into s hug
"Y'all got everything ?" He asked before pulling us into a hug and we nodded
After a while my ma came back downstairs before crossing her arms and my daddy cleared his throat
"Matter of fact since you here, what happened last night ?" Jr asked and he sighed
"Assumptions." He mumbled and my ma raised her eyebrows
"Assumptions ?" Ari asked
"London baby go upstairs and put something on so we can go get breakfast." My ma told her and she ran upstairs
"Don't even start that shit now." My daddy said and she rolled her eyes
"Matter of fact, in yo words...if that's how you gon be dont come back." She said before crossing her arms
"Stop fucking playing with me."
"Nah cause that's what you told me right ? Just like that was yo shit, this is MY shit, so get the fuck out of my crib Keshawn." She told him and he stepped up causing Brian fo smack his teeth
"Can y'all chill out Damn." Brian said
"You weird too." My ma pointed and he sighed
"Can y'all just explain what's going on ?" I asked And my daddy looked at Kay
"Angel got a bunch of strippers to jump me last night and kash didn't do anything but blame and take my position." My ma mumbled
"First of all I took yo position because you retaliated towards angel and she didn't have nothing to do with it." Ha said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"Wait so you think they jumped her for no reason ?" I asked
"Did you even check up on her before you reacted ?" Liyah asked and he sighed
"It was a lot going on-
"No don't say that... even I know that angel wanted her position, why else would they have jumped her..." Liyah said before stopping and taking a deep breath
"I'm not even tripping about it, he stopped me at the club, but I'm on everybody's ass." My ma shrugged
"And I can't help you if she pressed charges on yo ass, cause that won't be my business." He said and she laughed
"Get out my house." I pointed and he continued to stare at her
"Get out." She said before opening the door for him and he shook his head
"Ight, touch her and I'm on his ass too." He told her before pointing upstairs and she tilted her head at him
"What does Zay have to do with the conversation?" I asked as everyone started to step out
"You a fucking hoe !" He yelled and I looked at him
"We can talk outside if that's how you coming-
"No I don't give fuck kayonna, I been playing nice since I fucking got here, and his ass shouldn't even be walking right now, but you still got the nerve to fuck with me?" He asked
"I never asked you for shit." I told him
"All this shit is because of me, be real kayonna." He told me
"Deadass you need to calm down."Ari said
"Nah now I need to calm down because I'm reacting? Like she hasn't been reacting all week? She a fucking hoe, but then gon tell me to get out while my homeboy sleeping in the bed I bought" he said and I opened the door
"You don't have no right to be talking about who she been sleeping with when you've made a mistake before too." Ari said and I looked At her
"Huh?" I asked and she crossed her arms
After a minute of silence I shook my head before opening the door
"Just Get out." I told him before Zay started coming downstairs concerned
"Get the fuck out my house I'm not even playing with you." I said louder but he mugged me before slamming the door shut
"Mommy I don't know which boots to wear."
"Come on, let's go pick out s pair." Jr told her before leading her back upstairs and I looked at Ari
"What did you mean by that ?" I asked
"Nothing, I'm just pretty sure that's he's gotten drunk before and had slept with other females." She said before shaking her head and looking away
Brian cleared his throat before scratching his head.
"Ight Ima say bye one last time and then we can head out." Ha said before him and Ari walked toward the den
"What happened ?" Zay asked and I shook my head
He sighed before pulling me into a long hug
"Stop letting him get you out of character m, he ain't even worth up energy." He told me and I nodded before everyone came back over
"Y'all don't wanna get breakfast ?" I asked
"No we're just gonna go ahead, Ary's sick so me and Niyah will be the ones driving." Liyah said and I nodded before we all joined in a group hug
"Christmas break right ?" Ari asked
"Yep, we're gonna get on y'all's nerves a for a whole month." Liyah cheesed and I shook my head
After they left, jr left for boxing practice not long afterwards leaving me, Zay, and London
"You coming with me and London ?" I asked and London cheesed
"Can you ?" She asked and he chuckled
"I have to work."he told her and she crossed her arms
"But, when I get off I can get Us ice cream if it's okay with mommy ?" He asked and she looked at me
"Ok, but let's go get food first."I told her before opening the door

Me and London ate inside of Chick-fil-A while we talked
"Do you like daycare ?" I asked and she shrugged
"What's wrong with it ?" I asked
"I like staying at home, and mrs Jackie put me in timeout." She said before resting her head on her hand
"Well why did mrs Jackie put you in timeout Lon?" I asked
"This white girl said a cuss word to me mommy." She said and I furrowed her eyebrows
"What'd she say ?" I asked
"She took my white milk and replaced it with chocolate, then called me a monkey." She said and I raised my eyebrows
"Hold on so why were you in trouble ?" I asked
"Because I said her Granny was." She said and I tilted my head
"That still wasn't a reason..."
"Her granny is dead and she cried mommy." She said looking up and my mouth dropped causing her to think she was in trouble
"We don't talk about people like that London." I said while trying to hold my laugh in and she shrugged

Ary-
"Get some rest." Liyah told me
"I will, I have to go apartment hunting today though." I said and she Niyah smacked her teeth
"Get rest foreal, I'll go with you tomorrow." She said while getting her bags out with me
"No ima go today, they declined me being able to live here by myself as a college student so, even though you'll have a place to stay I won't." I said and she sighed
"Why won't you just stay with me and jr until then ?" She asked
"Because I simply just don't want too." I said and she looked at me
"Wassup with you?" Liyah asked And I didn't say anything
"It's like yo attitude been on 100, all you do is sleep now, and it's always something wrong with your Body." She said and I rolled my eyes
"You pregnant ?" Niyah asked
"Never." I said and she smacked her teeth
"Anyways, I got stuff to do-
Interrupting my sentence, the box that Shawn gave me with the ring in it fell and I quickly put it up
"What's that ?" Liyah asked and I shook my head
"Nothing." I shrugged
"Ary.." Niyah trailed
Liyah instantly reached in my purse for the box and she opened it revealing the ring. I smacked my teeth before instantly snatching it back
"Wait when did Shawn propose?" Liyah asked in shock and Janiyah raised her eyebrows
"He didn't, he upgraded my promise ring." I said and she looked at me as if she didn't believe me
"Sweet." She smiled and I smiled back before hugging her
"Drive safe." I told Liyah and she nodded before getting in the car and driving off
"It's a party going on tonight." Niyah smiled and I sighed
"Girl I don't feel good." I lightly laughed and she pouted
"We can only stay out for a few hours,I know you wanna turn up." She smiled
"I don't." I said and she smacked her teeth
"Girl come onn." She asked again and I sighed
"Few hours." I said and she cheesed before running inside

"So when do you go back to practice ?" I asked Shawn on FaceTime as I continued getting ready
"Tomorrow- where you going ?" He asked
"Janiyah convinced me to go to some party with her, it'll only be a few hours though." I said and he didn't say anything
"What ?" I asked
"Just call me back then." He said and I smacked my teeth
"Dashawn." I said blankly
"I didn't even say nothing, I trust you, go ahead and have fun bae." He told me
"And be safe." He added
"I will, love you." I told him
"I love you too" he replied before handing up

The party was actually chill, it wasn't no Bullshit and it wasn't wild either.
I had a few drinks and stopped myself at three while I let Niyah do all the drinking.
"Is this yours ?" I heard and I turned around so see a random guy holding my phone
"Where was it ?" I asked looking at him weirdly and he pointed et the couch area.
"I was getting ready to sit down and the screen came on and you popped up." He said and I thanked him
"No problem, now what if I was the type to steal?" He asked and we both chuckled
"Are you?" I questioned
"Nah, but I'm Jamel." He smiled before offering his hand
"Ary." I replied before shaking it.
After a while I went back over to Janiyah who was chilling and she looked up at me
"Ight it's been a few hours and this is boring you ready ?" She asked and I nodded before she furrowed her eyebrows
"Who was that?" She asked
"Who?"
"Dude you was talking too, he keep looking over here." She said and I looked behind me causing us to make eye contact. I waved her off before speaking
"His name is Jamel , he found my phone." I said and she raised her eyebrows
"Looks like he's trying to find something else." She said before taking a sip of her drink
"Huh?" I asked before she pointed behind me and I saw him walking back over
"I was getting ready to head out, but is it coo if I get yo number ?" He asked and I raised my eyebrows
"Sorry, I actually have a boyfriend." I said and he nodded
"My bad I respect that, have a good night then." He told me and I have him a small slope before he walked off again
"Period As you should." She said and I rolled my eyes before pulling her up
Liyah-
A few hours later...
I tiredly got out the car before walking up my apartment steps and I stopped once I saw a figure
"So you wasnt gon tell me you was going out of town ?" Jamel asked and I rolled my eyes
"It wasn't your business move." I said and he chuckled before standing up
"Ayo like what the fuck is yo problem?" He asked and I looked up at him
"Move before I have you back in jail I'm not even playing." I said before trying to move past him but I felt him grip my shoulders causing me to push him but he didn't budge
Instead he grabbed my neck tightly before looking me in the eyes and I attempted to fight him off but I couldn't
"Jamel I can't breath." I pleased
After a while shit started blur and genuinely was starting to panic, this nigga was literally loosing his fucking mind and I was loose my life in the process.
After a while I saw a figure come up behind me, and he went down causing me to fumble down the steps.
"Aaliyah!"
"Ayo What the fuck did you do to her?!"
Everything went black.
Ary-
My phone started ringing at Damn near 3:00 in the morning and I turned over before groaning. It was Liyah's roommate Sydney so I sighed before answering
"Girl do you know what time it is-
"Liyah's in the hospital." She interrupted and I furrowed my eyebrows before sitting up
"What happened is she okay ?" I asked and she didn't say anything, she just kept breathing in and out and crying
"Sydney what the fuck happened to my sister ?" I asked before instantly getting up And she took a deep breath
"I just- I came outside and her ex had her in a choke hole, I hit him with a pan once I heard them and he fell out letting her tumble down the steps." Shs said and my heart dropped before I immediately slid on a hoodie and slides
"Send me which hospital y'all are at I'm on my way." I sighed before hanging up and grabbing my purse and keys.
Janiyah came out confused before looking at me
"Ary's in the hospital." I said in slight panic and she grabbed me
"What ?" She asked and I looked away before she started rubbing her head
"Ok, just give me a minute you're not in the right state to drive Ary." She sighed before taking my keys and going inside her room
After a minute she came out before we both for inside the car and started the drive to Liyah's college area
That morning..
"Brown ?"
Me, Janiyah, and Sydney got up and the doctor sighed
"So dad she's doing fine, there was some slight bleeding in her head so we gave her stitches, our only concern is since there was some impact before the fall, we're worried that there's a possibly of a blood clout forming, and we might have to keep her for surgery if it occurs." He said and I sighed before rubbing my head
"For that we'll need either her consent, or parental consent, depending on how well her brain functions to memory." He explained while writing
"Memory?" Janiyah asked
"She took a hard fall, with how the wound was were almost for certain that she's gonna have a few memory problems, which we will test. It could be minor, if could be temporary, it's just all within time." He said and I took a deep breath
"Okay we have to call your parents now Ary." She said and I nodded before looking at Sydney
"Sydney who did this ?" I asked and she sighed
"Some dude Jamel that she's been messing with. He's mentally fucked up honestly, he pops up in the house here and there and even when she would try to leave him alone he wouldn't leave her." She said and I looked at her
"And nobody told me ?" I asked
"It wasn't my business to tell, that's how she wanted it because she didn't want anyone to worry and she didn't think it was that serious. I tried to talk her into telling someone, but I had to put it together that he was putting his hands on her because she wouldn't even tell me that." She explained and I sighed before Janiyah came back with the phone and my ma was on the phone
"Ary what the hell happened ?" She asked concerned

A few hours later....
Kay-
"She's coming back down with me." Kash said and I crossed my arms
"She should stay with Ary, she's gonna wanna stay on track with school and-
"She can do that shit online, she needs to be somewhere safe Kay." Ha said and I shook my head
"When it comes to my daughter's safety shit don't get negotiable." He said before walking away and I started rubbing my head before following him
"Who was the boy?" Kash asked and Ary looked at Liyah's roommate.
She pulled up his Facebook before we all looked and Ary furrowed her eyebrows
"Nah that can't be right, I saw him at w party last night he tried to get my number." Ary said and we looked at her
"What time did this happen ?" Ary asked
"It was literally like 2:00 in the morning."
"We left the party early at 10:00, so guessing he had time." Ary said before sighing and getting up
"Shit is crazy." She mumbled
"Kash took a picture of the profile before getting ready to walk out but I grabbed him Before pulling him to the side
"Don't start this shit again please." I said and he smacked his teeth
"Don't start? A nigga almost killed our fucking daughter and you telling me to not start ?"he asked
"If you go out there and handle that shit sloppy... it's no point of her going back with you cause you're gonna be back in Damn cell." I told him
"Kay I don't give a fuck, he targeting both of our daughters that shit is the least of my fucking worries." He told me before getting ready to walk out but I grabbed him again
"Kash." I sighed before looking at him
"Not right now." I said and he sighed
Interrupting my next sentence Angel walked in and I looked at him
"Is she okay ?" She asked
"She's good, just waiting on more information." He said and he sighed and relief
"And what are you doing here ?" I asked confused
"You're not the only one that cares about her Kay." She said and I chuckled
"You're here because kash came, could've just said that." I said before walking passed them both and towards Ary
After a minute the doctor came back out before allowing us to come back and see her. She was up normal getting situated, and once she saw me and kash her smile faded.
"So I'm guessing you remember what happened ?" I asked
"Exactly what happened no... what's been happening yes."she sighed
"We've asked similar questions on birthday, close family members names, and she's good...but as far as in dept information that's for y'all to find out" he said and we nodded before he stepped out
"Liyah.. you know that you have a family behind you that would step for any situation why didn't you speak up ?" Kash asked
"Can we not talk about this right now, I have a headache, and I don't want to be bothered." She sighed and I looked at kash
"Not now, we can talk about it later tonight." I told him referring to her coming back home
After a minute everyone stepped out but I sat down beside her.
"You're not in the wrong, you're not stupid, and this wasn't your fault." I told her and she looked at me
"But like he said, we would literally give our lives for y'all no hesitation at all." I told her
"It wasn't that I was afraid ma, I just felt like it was enough shit and that he would eventually fall back." She explained
"There is never enough shit Aaliyah have you met your family ?" I asked and we both lightly laughed
"Just don't let him do nothing stupid." She said and I shook my head
"Knowing him, he's already gone and searching." I said and she sighed
"Ma I'm serious, his family gets down just like ours, and if sometimes happens to him they're gonna retaliate." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"You been fucking with a gang banger ?" I asked and she smacked her teeth
"Maaa." She sighed
"Liyah."
"And you didn't ?" She asked
"Okay, but learn from my mistakes, am I with him now ? No, and that's the point I said and she sighed
"Never thought that I would say this, but I would rather you be with Marcus." I lightly laughed
"Who?" She she laughed with me and I furrowed my eyebrows
"Demarcus." I said and she looked at me confused
"Wrong twin ma" she laughed and My heart dropped before I looked off to the side.

"What were y'all talking about?" Angel asked and I looked at her
"Who ?"
"You and Kay, she had grabbed up on you." She said and I sighed
"Shit maybe our daughter that's in the hospital. What else angel ?" I asked sarcastically as I drove and she sighed before crossing her arms
"If you didn't want to come up here you could've said that ." I said
"Right, and if you wanna fuck with Kay you could've said that." She mumbled
"Ayo you blowing me right now." I said and she rolled her eyes as I continued driving
After a minute my phone started ringing from Brian so I answered
"Is she good?" He asked
"Yeah she straight, Im giving her some air before I head back up there." I said
"You giving her some air or you out trying to take a nigga's air ?" Brian asked and I smacked my teeth
"Kash dont-
"I'm not even gon do shit yet, why y'all keep talking to me like I'm done reckless ass nigga?" I asked
"Because you are." Him and angel both said in sync
After a minute I pulled up to a spot before eventually seeing The Dude posted up with two other niggas
"Ight Ima call you back." I told him before hanging up and angel looked at me
"Wait so what you finna do ?" She asked as I got out the car, but I shut the door ignoring her
With w smile I approached him before rapping him up
"What y'all niggas up too?" I asked and they both shrugged
"Getting to this money that's it." He shrugged and I nodded
"Right and there it huh?" I nodded and they chuckled
"Hold up, where you be at ?" The nigga beside him asked
"Hold on answer my question first." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows
"Did you use one, or both hands on my daughter ?" I asked and he looked up at me before smirking
"Two, tell yo daughter to stop fucking with me" He said before going to feel for his gun but her face slowly dropped once he didn't feel it
"It's here." I said before slightly pulling it out my pocket and he looked down in disbelief
I pulled it out before placing it at his temple and looking him deadass in the eyes. I waited until he started to sweat and his homeboy stood frozen
"Nah let's take a ride." I told him before jacking him up and he sighed

"You okay ?" Niyah asked and I nodded
"I just need to sit down." I sighed before sitting in a nearby chair and sighing
"You're suppose to be in bed right now, I shouldn't have dragged you to that party last night-
Ignoring her sentence I jumped up before rubbing to a trash can area and I immediately started throwing up
Janiyah ran over before making sure my hair was out the way while also keeping a distance
"Are you okay ?" One of the nurses asked before jogging over with napkins and bottled water
"I'm fine thank you." I told her before taking the water and napkins out her hand
"You're red, I have one of the rooms cleared if you want to go back for a quick check up-
"I'm fine, it's just a common cold." I told her before walking off to the bathroom and washing my mouth out
After a minute my ma came back out before sighing.
"They were right." She said and I looked at her
"She didn't even remember Marcus." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows
"It could just be temporary ma, maybe her going back home is good for her, she probably just needs a refresh." I said and she nodded
"I hope, she asleep right now, so you go get some rest too, and we'll bring her by to see you before we take her down." She said and I nodded before she hugged me
"Please be safe." She told me and I nodded
"I will." I told her

"But she's okay,hopefully I'll get to see her later." I said to Shawn on the phone
"Don't stress it, she'll be alright." He said wnd I nodded before sighing
"What's wrong ?" He asked
"I still don't feel good, I threw up at the hospital earlier." I said and he went silent for a minute
"You been taking yo medicine ?" Shawn asked
"Yes, nothing is working at all." I said and he went silent
"You think you need a pregnancy test ?" He asked and I smacked my teeth
"I'm on the pill." I said
"But still, they didn't give you a pregnancy test at the office Ben though you were showing symptoms at the time. Now you throwing up and barely eating.. it's more then just a cold Ary." He said and I sighed
"Just go get one, I'll cash app the money to you."he said and I shook my head
"Don't waste it, I'm not pregnant Shawn." I said and he sighed
"Ary just go."
I sighed before getting up with a groan
"Don't nobody care about that lil funky attitude."he chuckled and I smacked my teeth

Once I walked into Walgreens I grabbed a box of clear blue before reading the back of it
"Ary ?" I heard causing me to turn around to see angel
I instantly how they box before furrowing my eyebrows
"What are you doing here ?" I asked
"I uh, I'm grabbing a couple of things for your daddy-
"Is he in here ?" I asked and she quickly shook her head no
"He's in handling something, you good ?" She asked referring to the test in my head
"I'm fine, it's not for me though so..." I said and she slightly smiled before nodding
Awkwardly I turned around before proceeding to checkout and sighing
"Who was that ?" Shawn asked still on the phone
"Angel ass, she gonna be in my grown business and tell my daddy." I said and he smacked his teeth
"Aye on god she better not, that's my ass." He chuckled

"Ary." Shawn said and I stopped talking
"I love you but can you please stop stalling and look at the test." He see if and I smacked my teeth
"I was going too, just not right now-
"Ary come on." He interrupted before we both busted out laughing
"I feel like we should wait until we're together again." I said and he sighed before sitting the camera up
"look, there's three test right ? So if I make this bucket, from right here, you flip one test over, if I miss after that you flip it back over." He said and I smacked my teeth
"Fine." I laughed before watching him attempt the shot and he missed.
He tried again this time making it and I squinted my eyes at him before sitting the phone to where he could see me.
I slowly flipped the test over before smiling and showing him
"Not pregnant."
"Ight three more." He said before getting ready again.
He made the shot again and I cleared my throat confident before flipping test over. I instantly covered my mouth before looking at the camera and Shawn jogged over over so I showed him.
"Pregnant."
"Oh shit.." he said before raising his eyebrows
"Just flip that one over." He said anxious but I smacked my teeth before we started going back and forth
"Ary if you don't flip it over Ima catch a flight down there and do it myself." He said and I sighed before snatching it off the sink and looking at it.
I instantly covered my face with my hands and he sighed catching on
"Pregnant."
"Don't cry, just take one more mama." he said and I sighed before sitting down and getting another out the box
I took it in silence before reading the results and sighing loudly
"Damn.." Shawn sighed
"I'm sorry. I thought getting on the pill was smart
And safer, and I don't want this shit to throw you off-
"Baby it's not yo fault, ain't no throwing me off we getting though this shit together. Right after the game Saturday Ima book a flight down there, go ahead and book an appointment and we can start it all together." He reassured
"You okay ?" He asked and I nodded
At the end I'm the day I'm grown, my only concern was our distance.
Liyah-
"Ma I'm not going back down with him." I sighed
"Liyah. You're developing a short term brain damage, if you don't sit down and heal it's gonna get worst." My ma explained
"Okay and I can sit down and heal at my crib."
"And if he comes back then what ?" She asked and I sighed
"How do I have brain damage, I remember everybody and everything fine." I said
"Can you think of any basketball plays to remember ?" She asked me and I took a minute before sitting down
"It's not that you're forgetting people or important things, you're forgetting shit stretched to it." She said and I sighed
"But it's not temporary, he said it could come back by anytime, especially with a refresh, just take a little time to heal." She told me and I nodded
"Fine." I sighed
After me grabbing stuff she stopped by Ary's, and her and Janiyah came out before hugging me
"We'll talk." Ary told me and I nodded
"Please don't be being hardheaded." Janiyah said and I smacked my teeth
"Literally." Ary joked
Kash-
"Pull his shirt up" I told Angel before she did it
"Aye on god if you do this shit, it's war." He told me and I chuckled before taking the hot emblem with my initials off while walked towards him.
I immediately pressed the body brand against his back causing him to scream in pain. After a minute I took it off and watched the mark that it left. I took alcohol and a pad before "cleaning it off" and he screamed even more before attempting to catch his breath
"Shiit I guess it's war then." I told him and he looked up at me.
