Scarlett's pov

I woke up from some noises downstairs so I got up from my bed, making sure not to wake Hailee up. I was kinda hot so I took my hoodie off and placed it at the end of my bed.
I walked downstairs and I heard my mom talk on the phone with someone. "She should've gave an abortion" my mom said and I walked up behind her clearing my throat.
"And I would do that because?" I said coldly.
"I'll call you back" she said before hanging up the phone and placing it down on the counter. "Are you really that stupid? Getting pregnant at that young and not telling anyone!"
"I'm glad I got pregnant" I said. "At least I'm a caring mother unlike you" I said getting angrier. "I know what you said to dad, you wanted to put me up for adoption because you think that I wouldn't be successful in life. And look where I am now"
"YOU DON'T LOVE THAT CHILD! JUST LIKE I DIDN'T LOVE YOU!" Mom told me and I froze. I knew she didn't like me as much as my siblings but I never knew she would actually say it to my face.
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT ME! I LOVE MY DAUGHTER AND I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR HER! I DON'T CARE WHAT I DO! I'LL DO ANYTHING TO SEE THAT PRETTY SMILE OF HERS"
Hailee's pov

I woke up to some shouting from downstairs. So i quickly got up and but one of Scarlett's hoodie that I found at the end of the bed.
When I put it on, it smelt like my mo-Scarlett. Smells like lavender. Anyways I went downstairs to see Scarlett standing with her arms crossed in front of her mother.
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT ME! I LOVE MY DAUGHTER AND I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR HER! I DON'T CARE WHAT I DO! I'LL DO ANYTHING TO SEE THAT PRETTY SMILE OF HERS" I heard Scarlett yell at her mom and I froze.
"She really cares about me" I told myself. I went and stood by Scarlett and wait what else her mom has to say.
Her mom faced me and I got a bit scared not going to lie. So I backed up a bit and hid a little behind Scarlett.
Her mom was pointing her finger at me and I notice that Scarlett put her arm in front on me in a protective way. "I swear if you lay a hand on her, I will make sure you suffer" Scarlett said and I was getting scared about what's about to go down.
"Fine" her mom said and she slap Scarlett across the face and she fell to the ground. She slapped her hard. Her whole side of her face was now red.
"Mom!" I said getting down next to her making sure she's okay.
"Listen to me little brat" her mom said getting closer to me but Scarlett pushed me behind her. "You will never be loved in this family" she said then walked away.
I felt tears coming down but I quickly whipped them away. I need to focus on my mom right now. Oh shit. I just called her mom again. Oh well.
"Are you okay?" I asked her looking at her face.
I could see her eyes water but she stayed strong for me. I quickly hugged her and she hugged me back, crying silently.
"This is why I knew it would be bad coming back here" she said after a while of hugging.
"I'm sorry" I said getting up and taking her hand. "Let's get out of here" I said leading us upstairs.
Scarlett went to her room and packed her bag and so did it.
When I was done, I quickly texted Lizzie to ask her if we could stay at her house for a bit and she said that we could and she also said that we can stay there as long as we want.
Scarlett's pov
I got a text from Lizzie saying that we have to go to her house as soon as possible and that we are staying there for as long as we want.
I walked out my room, whipping more tears away, and went to Hailee's room and knocked on her door.
"Come on baby, let's go" I said opening her door and she was all ready.
"Okay" she said and she grabbed my hand and we walked downstairs.
"Put your shoes on" I told her as we got downstairs and I could hear my mom's footsteps coming in our direction.
She quickly put her shoes on and waited for me to put mine on. "You better not come back here" my mom said and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh trust me, we won't" I said making sure Hailee was in front of me just in case.
We got to my car and I drove away to Lizzie's house. I swear I could kill my mother if I could.
Hailee's pov
We started driving off and I notice that Scarlett is mad about what just happened. "Mom" i whispered and she didn't move. "Mom" I said a bit louder, she still hasn't moved. "Scarlett" I said and that got her attention.
"Yes" she looked at me for a second then going back to looking at the road.
"I've been calling you for the past minute"
"Oh sorry"
"It's okay" I said looking out the window. "Mom?" I suddenly had i thought.
"You called me mom again!" She said with a smile. I'm glad she's smiling now.
"Well you are my mom right?" I looked at her worried if she said no then I don't know what I would do.
"Of course" she replied.
"I was wondering, maybe, if I could invite Kaylee over one day" I asked playing with my fingers.
"Of course you can!" She said smiling again. "She can come whenever she wants" she said and we finally pulled up to Lizzie's house.
Scarlett's pov
When I pulled up, I notice Lizzie was standing there waiting for us smiling. I got out of the car and Lizzie rushed over to us and hugged us both.
"Are you guys okay?" She asked us releasing us from the hug. We both nodded but she knew that we were lying but she let that go for now.
I helped Hailee with her bags, but Lizzie immediately took them from me and walked back inside. She also took my bag.
"Mom, are you sure your okay?" Hailee asked me as she was catching up to me.
"Of course I am" I smiled at her but I don't think she bought it.
Lizzie showed us where we would be staying and we thanked her once again. "You should thank your daughter" she said winking at me. I blushed but turned around so that they wouldn't see.
"Do you want some ice?" Hailee asked me as I was rubbing my cheek.
"Did she do it again?" Lizzie asked me walking to the kitchen and getting an ice pack. Hailee and I followed her.
I nodded my head and she gasp as hugged me again. "I'm so sorry. She shouldn't be hitting you. Even when you were younger" Lizzie told me as she rubbed my back.
"Wait, she's been hitting you ever since?" Hailee said walking towards us.
I nodded me head because I couldn't trust my voice right now. Hailee sighed and came over to me and hugged me. "I'm sorry, she's an awful mother" she said. "I'm glad I have you as my mom" she said gently nudging me and I laughed.
"If you heard what my mother said about you, about us, know that it wasn't true" I told her and she nodded. "I want to make you happy. I want to see that beautiful smile of yours and if someone breaks it then they will have to deal with me"
"And me!" Lizzie said laughing. "Well, probably everyone" she added.
"Like you mean all the Avengers?" Hailee got a bit to excited about that.
"Yes but stop thinking about what your thinking about right now" I said and she pouted.
"Hey i just noticed that you called Scarlett your mom" Lizzie said clapping her hands.
"Y-yeah but only if it's okay with you" Hailee said looking worried.
"It's more than okay" she smiled and we had a big group hug.
I'm glad I have these people in my life. These two make me happy.
