I wait, and I wait, and I wait. I've been waiting for months for him to write back, so much that I've begun to lean and rest on the uncertainty; the waiting on if he'll write back, if ever.
The last time we saw each other was in March last year and even then, it was only quick and subtle glances at one another. I'd catch him staring at me and he'd look away when our eyes met but that was it; there were no words, just silent glances.
However, he made me feel like there was more to it. That those subtle glances of his hid something more, something loving perhaps, but there was nothing. I know this because you don't keep someone you love, or if not love, then slight admiration for, waiting and you certainly do not lead them on without closure.
I waited, and waited, and waited, but now I rest on the uncertainty without fear, sadness or anger. Just be and the waiting is over.
