Libertia's pov
I got an invitation from Claude once again, but this time Rai too is invited. Which leads to the problem at hand, how should I tell Rai? I stood up from my chair and head out of my office to look for my son.
While looking for him my mind wandered to what we were talking about, more specifically the fact that Claude had Eros as a means for a heir... I'm sure Rai thought of that possibility already since he's smart, too smart for his own good. I'm sure he's suspicious about me hiding something from him too, since I too had Rai for a reason I shook my head to clear out my thoughts and continued to look for my son.
I was walking in the garden near the river, there I found my son surrounded with books, looking straight at the river with an empty faraway look. It would have been a beautiful sight if it wasn't for the empty look an my son's face.
'why do you have such a sad face?'
"Rai?" I called out softly when he turned around the look that I saw before I called him completely vanished.
"Yes mama?" He asked softly
"I have something to tell you"
"What is it mama?"He asked again
"Have you ever thought of the reason why your papa and I had you?"
I looked at him observing his expressions, he flinched subtly, before looking back at the river.
"I have"
My eyes widened at the response.
"I see"
"What if mama had you too for a reason, and that reason will cause suffering to you, and happiness for me?"
He continued looking at the river, before answering a few seconds later.
"I thought of that possibility too"
He said voice very weak and shaky.
"With the conclusion that father had me for a reason and not because you love each other I thought that just in case, just in case mama too had a reason separate from father's, I'd consider this hypothesis, I should consider it to spare myself from the pain of believing the illusion of a perfect family everyone thinks we are, even if it's just a little bit, I considered that hypothesis to spare myself from the pain of knowing the truth"
He explained now looking down clenching the blanket he's sitting on.
I looked at him sadly, but I at least want to tell him that the love I'm giving him, and the time we spent together isn't a lie or an illusion, so I spoke.
"Rai,look at me please"
I pleaded him, he looked at me with his now usual poker face which made my heart clench, I gritted my teeth before continuing.
"I.. mama may have had you for a reason but that doesn't mean that the time we spent together, and the love I'm giving you is a lie."
"Mama really loves Rai, so much. It's the truth, I really do, so until the day that the reason I had you arrive... I promise I'll continue loving Rai okay?"
He looked confused about something but decided to shook it of, before clenching the blanket nodding.
"Hn"
"I'll love mama until that day arrives too"
He smiled at me, a beautiful, genuine smile, after seeing that I couldn't help but smile back. Before he continued looking at the river, we stayed like that for a while before he asked.
"Mama?"
" I know you won't be telling me your reason why you had me."
" So can you at least tell me why father had me?"
He asked, still looking at the river.
"He... It was because he wanted a heir for the throne"
I answered hence hesitantly.
"I see, it seems it won't be too taxing since I like learning" He said
"Is that all?"
"Since being the crown prince isn't just about learning, young man" I said
He glanced at me, before opening his mouth
"I also like this empire" he said, eyes softening at the mention of the empire
I obviously was surprised by what he just said, also because of how his eyes softened while he was answering.
Satisfied with the answer I got I stood up, kissing his forehead, before walking away I informed him.
"Your dad sent another invitation! This time you're invited too apparently!"
I informed him raising my voice for a bit, waving while continuing to walk a way.
"Go into your room soon, the sun is setting already!" I reminded.
Not noticing two people listening at our conversation.

Raizel's pov
When mama left I went to my room and sat outside the veranda, I felt unpleasant emotions going wild, emotions I cannot differentiate even so it was painful? Why? I expected it, mama said that the time we spent together was real, she said that she really do love me, so why am I hurting? I knew that father didn't care about me or mama, so why? Could it be that deep down I wanted us to be a family?
I... I have become a little to hopeful... I got greedy, next time I'll only have what is given to me, and I hope the next time I get greedy it wouldn't be as painful as this. I smiled and wiped my teary eyes, and continued reading the books until mama called me for dinner.
I few minutes later I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in"
The door opened, and mama went in
"Rai, come it's time for dinner"
"Hn, let's go mama" I said smiling
She reached her hands out, Mama's habit when she wants to hold hands, I placed my hand on top of hers before going to the dining area hand in hand.
Upon reaching the dining area we entered and sat on our respective seats, mama dismissed the maids so it's just the two of us here.
"Rai, are you joining us for tea next week?" She asked
"Of course mama, since I'm invited I should comply, father may be my father but he's still the emperor"
"Also when will mama start my lessons?"
"I'll have you start when your three,since Felix will surely nag me if I started your lessons at the age of 1 year and 11 months"
She said chuckling
"I see looks like I'll be focusing on etiquette first"
Then we spent dinner in a peaceful silence.
"Rai it seems that I'll be buying you a swing soon."
"Your etiquette is already better than 7 years old children"
"Really? Then I want it beside the river, the place where we talked together"
"You seem to really like that place"
I smiled softly before replying
"It's peaceful, and quiet, pretty too, that's why I like it"
"I see" she smiled at me kissing my forehead
"Good night Rai, I'll see you tomorrow"
"Good night mama, see you tomorrow"
I went to my room and change into my pajama. I wasn't sleepy yet so I grabbed a book and went out of the veranda talking to my friend 'Luna' the moon. I talk to the moon since the moon seems so comforting, and had always been watching over me.
"Luna" I started looking up
"I learned the reason of why my father had me"
"I don't know why but it pained me, despite expecting it" I smiled sadly
"It seems I've gotten greedy haven't I?"
"I hope the next time I wish for something, the next time I get greedy, let's both hope it won't be as painful"
"Luna mama said something about love"
"Love... What is it? I wonder"
I was silent for awhile reading my book, before spoke again.
"Luna thank you for listening to me, pls continue watching over me" I smiled softly
"Good night Luna"
I said before going in.
Not noticing the pair of eyes watching me from a far.
