I had been walking for hours now. My legs hurt but I didn't have time to be lazy. I dragged my way across the forest. I didn't have anywhere to go now, I didn't even have food or and of my valuables. Perhaps I was meant to die alone? No I shouldn't think that way. I might not make it alive if I curse myself.
I was out of breath. I had never been good with running before, even when I was back in school I had a struggle with stuff like this. I was made fun of occasionally but we just laughed it off. I wonder how that place is doing now..
My legs finally gave up and I fell down. I dragged my way to a tree and took an old watch out of my bag. I had been walking for...14 hours and 26 minutes by now... I was out of breath and I couldn't even move a muscle;;; I was frustrated of course! I planned to finish this trip by 16 hours and 30 minutes at max!! At this point I knew I had to be faster or else I was gonna get eaten alive by something.
I was looking for a new place to say, at least for a night or two but I couldn't get up. No matter how much a tried I couldn't move. I shouldn't have overworked myself that much... the commission and the fall of my hometown all together... this week had been the worst. Well at least I was still breathing am I right? Haha..ha..
At this point I'd thank a monster if it ate me right this moment.
As I said that I saw a shadow at the corner of my eye.
...
"WhAT THE-" I screamed as I saw a giant cake monster coming towards me. I quickly reached my bag and took out my weapon which was... broken.. I didn't have any other choice but to try to run yet I couldn't walk. The monster started moving closer and a prepared myself for the hit.
But
...
It never came..?
I opened my eyes too look at why or what stopped the monster. A cookie..? An unknown cookie had saved me from the hit. I looked up only to see long blond hair that shined with the sun and flew with the wind.
I wasn't dead. was I..?
The cookie had defeated the cake monster and looked back at me. "Are you doing good? Your not hurt are you?" They hurried over and Let out their hand. I hesitated but still took their hand. " May I ask your name?" I asked. They smiled at me and started talking again.
"I'm Madeline. The commander of the knights order. Although I haven't seen you around before. May I also ask your name?"
I smiled. "I'm Y/n, thank you again for helping me" I got up and kept talking .
"It's pretty common for you to not know me. In fact I didn't even know that there were cookies who lived in this place until now, not to mention I'm not even from anywhere close to here." He gave me a bright confident smile. I could already point out his whole personality and interests by that. He was surely easy to read,,,
"Actually your not wrong! There weren't any cookies who lived here until just a few months ago! We just built this kingdom by using blood sweat and tears!" Gosh was he loud;; although I didn't mind a tiny bit of accompany after going through... all that.
"A month ago? How come I never heard of it?"
"Yeah! You said you weren't from around here, where are you from exactly?" He was still smiling brightly. He reminded me of a certain someone. Which might be dead at the moment-
"I'm from [f/n] (cookie flavor name) kingdom." As soon as I said that he gasped and backed away.
"SERIOUSLY?? YOU MEAN THE [F/N] KINGDOM???" I couldn't tell if He feared me or just was shocked.
"Yes, what's so shocking.????" I chuckled not to make everything awkward right now.
"SO YOU SURVIVED??"
"Do I look dead..? Madeline- I'm very much alive here." Just as I said that he hugged me in a very dramatic way.
"Look, I'm so sorry for all that your hometown went through. Such a horrible fate put against such nice peo-" I shut him up.
"ABOUT THAT!! Please tell me what exactly you know about my kingdom."
""My" kingdom? You sure have the guts to say such a thing! The kingdom is ruled over by the ancient hero y/n cookie!! Not you-" he was silent for a second as I stared at him in disappointment and of course after every silence.. there is a storm.
"OH MY LORD- THE HOLY Y/N COOKIE!? THEY ARE BACK?? WHY DIDNT YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE WAR?! HOW DID YOU SURVIVE!? EVERYONE THOUGHT YOU WERE DEA-" I slapped my hand over his mouth.
"Let me speak please." He mumbled a small "sorry" as I started speaking again.
[flashback]
I was done with my commission! Only took an hour and 22 minutes this time! I was really happy after beating my own personal score and I started to make my way back home.
The forest was pretty, it had really beautiful flowers which reminded me of white lily. I should really pay her a visit huh? I bet they all missed me. I had fallen down earlier so I need to get [&:!:829-] cookie to fix that for me. Gosh I don't want to get scolded again,,,,
My legs were tired but not too bad since I could still walk. It was becoming night time soon, I had to be fast or else I couldn't see where I was going. I stopped to collect myself for a second and took a deep breath. My surroundings were silent except for the sounds of nature. Surely a sight to see.
As I was starting to feel better I decided to be faster so I started running. I should be back by at least 10 minutes, sounds like a challenge!
I ran and ran. My legs were sore now but I could run a bit more. I saw a figure in the dark, thats odd. I thought it would be one of the knights night patrolling again so I didn't question it. I tried to slow down but my legs disobeyed and I crashed right into the unknown cookie.
We both got thrown far from where we hit and my vision got slightly blurry from the hit. "I'm sorry, are you hurt?" I said to the cookie getting up.
"Me..? Hurt..?" The cookie started laughing. I immediately froze, I knew that laugh. I'd recognize it everywhere. It was Dark Enchantress.
The cookie slowly got up and fixed its dress.
"What are you doing here?" I said as I I fully got up and slowly backed away
They started speaking again, getting closer with every move.
"Nice to see you again, old friend. May I ask how your doing? I was just about to visit you but I guess this was earlier fate." She laughed as she started talking about her "project" , all about the witch and how I should join her.
I denied and started yelling "are you crazy?? NO WAY. The cookies were made to live happily together. There's no such dark reason behind said matters."
"
She stared at me confused and then tilted her head with a "caring" smile.
"Oh y/n, your so naive. Just like a little child. That leaves me no choice." I tried to fight back but unfortunately the last thing I saw was her stupid smile and red light flashing before my eyes.

Weeks..? Months..? Years..? a while after that (I'm not sure how much) I woke up.. I was dizzy. I didn't know what had happened but I had a horrible feeling in my chest. Then it hit me, the kingdom. I looked around and spotted nothing but trees. I pulled out a map from my bag and pinpointed the kingdom again. I ran until my legs gave up but sadly, you can't win a battle you already lost.
"The sorrow we feel when we lose a loved one is the price we pay to have had them in our lives." I guess my payment was long overdue.
[end of flashback]
