☁︎︎ Third POV
Unnatural clouds surrounded the rising sun, almost turning the whole area dark. Anyone could tell that these clouds did not stay still and were a hazard to have around. The slayers left behind drew their blades as the healers collected themselves and got bandages and medications ready.
Kiriya and Senjuro, who were miles and miles away from the battle ground, had tears pricking their eyes. With the help of the paper on their heads, they can see what all the crows see, that means they can see the demonized Y/n right before them.
Y/n licked the blood from the side of his mouth as he 'stared' at Giyuu and the others that were behind him. It was almost as if he was wondering who they were and on what he should do with them.
A thud was heard near Y/n. He snapped his head to where it was and noticed that it was a Kakushi was had fallen out of fear. Fear... Y/n liked to feed on that. He leaped at the Kakushi immediately, causing them to scream out in horror.
"Y/N NO!!" Tanjiro called out, pleadingly.
Before Y/n could reach and eat the Kakushi alive, he heard something shatter behind him. He turned to look at what it was. A lower slayer tried to slash at him, however, the blade broke the minute it came in contact with Y/n's body.
Y/n tilted his head to the side, making the slayer shiver under Y/n's gaze. Y/n than reached from the slayer's face. The slayer was too scared to move, unable to simply duck under Y/n. Fortunately, someone cut Y/n's arm off and took the slayer away.
Y/n stared at his hand before regrowing it without any effort. He looked back to where the Kakushi was and noticed that Giyuu was standing there instead. He tilted his head once again, almost like a wild animal.
"I will not..." Giyuu said with tears in his eyes as he readied his blade with his one arm, "...have anyone else die to another demon."
Y/n only let out a breath before running at Giyuu at full speed. Giyuu's eyes widened but he quickly blocked Y/n's incoming attacks. Y/n's attacks were not like Tanjiro's long ranged, he attacked swiftly and with his claws.
"He's immune to regular Nichirin blades," Tanjiro stated with wide eyes, "Only red blades can cut Y/n. He can also heal faster than the normal demon, maybe even faster than Muzan."
"What the fuck...?" Sanemi groaned as he had just woken up and now were with Tanjiro and the others, "No fucking way..."
Giyuu was keeping Y/n at bay, blocking and slashing at his body. Y/n didn't care that some of his limbs were cut off since he regrew them the next second.
"Some get rid of those clouds!!" Giyuu shouted, "If he's immune to our blades than he's not immune or the sun!! We need to use the sun!!"
"There are demons making clouds over at the east!!" A voice shouted, Yushiro, even though his voice was shaking, "They are the Kakushi's that were trying to tend to Y/n earlier!! They were turned into demons because of Y/n!!"
"Damnit," Sanemi hissed, "Here!"
Sanemi shoved his, already red, blade into Tanjiro's hands. He snatched the regular blade from Tanjiro and staggered to get up, but still stood up straight.
"Sanemi-San?!" Tanjiro called out in shock.
"Use my blade and immobilize Y/n! I will kill the demons that Y/n created to clear up the sky!!" Sanemi shouted.
Tanjiro hesitated but nodded nonetheless, "R-Right!"
Sanemi gave a quick nod and ran over to Yushiro. They both ran together down east to find the demons that Y/n created to kill them all together.
With Y/n and Giyuu, Giyuu was barely holding himself together. Y/n wasn't even trying that much, he wasn't even trying to kill Giyuu, he just kicked him around and punched him. Y/n was toying with Giyuu.
Giyuu coughed up blood as he was kicked away from Y/n. He slid on the ground and in front of the trio and Nezuko. He coughed a bit as he staggered to stand up, only to fall back onto his knees.
"One of you..." Giyuu stuttered out, "One of you take my blade. I'm too weak to keep fighting, but I know one of you can do it."
The trio quickly looked at one another before looking at Y/n who was eating another slayer he had killed. Tanjiro stepped away from Zenitsu and Inosuke, seeing how he already had Sanemi's blade.
Zenitsu took in a deep breath and stepped forewords. He carefully took Giyuu's blade and held in his hands, careful not to cut himself with it.
"I will," Zenitsu said boldly, "Me and Tanjiro will give Sanemi-San enough time to clear the clouds, we will immobilize Y/n."
Inosuke shook in place, he wanted to help his friends too. He looked down at his blades in shame. He can feel his anger bubbling up in his core, raising his temperature. His determination got the better of him.
"I want to help!!" Inosuke shouted, "Please!!"
Tanjiro, Giyuu, Nezuko, and Zenitsu looked at Inosuke in shock, "You can't! Your blade isn't red!" Zenitsu said in worry.
"Let him fight," Giyuu said simply as Nezuko went to his side, "He'll be fine."
Tanjiro and Zenitsu looked at Giyuu as if he was crazy. They glanced at Inosuke's blades and noticed that it had spots of red in his grey-blue blade. They furrowed their brows but nodded in agreement anyways.
"Okay..." Tanjiro muttered.
There was a sudden screech sound. Y/n ran over to Giyuu and tackled him. It was a surprise attack. Giyuu held onto Y/n's neck with his one arm to keep Y/n from biting him. Y/n's face littered with blood as he tried to bite down on Giyuu.
However, Y/n was kicked off of Giyuu. Giyuu quickly got up with a heavy breath and ran over to where the Kakushi and Nezuko were hiding to get patched up once again.
Zenitsu was the one who kicked Y/n off of Giyuu. Tanjiro and Inosuke were by his side quickly as they readied their blades. Small tears pricked their eyes as they watch Y/n stand back up and wipe dust off of his face.
"We're sorry Y/n," Tanjiro said in a sad tone.
Y/n let out an animalistic screech as he ran at the trio. However, the three were ready. They all split up in different directions and began to fight at a reasonable distance. Although, Y/n was being cut up, he healed too quickly to actually die.
"Kanao!!" Tanjiro yelled out as he and the others were fighting Y/n, "Do you still have any more injections?!"
Kano, who was by Nezuko's side, said nothing. She only had one injection, she was only given one injection, there was no more left over. Y/n could not turn back human. She looked down at the ground as she had tears in her eyes.
Tanjiro grits his teeth as he didn't get an answer back, he knew what this meant and so did the other three. None of the slayers liked the fact that Y/n was a demon permanently.
"The clouds are clearing up!!" Giyuu shouted as he was being held down from jumping into battle by some Kakushi's, "Make Y/n stay still!!"
Tanjiro looked up at the buildings and noticed that Yushiro and Sanemi were on the roof tops killing the demons that were make the clouds. He couldn't help but let out a stuttered breath as he thought about all the lives Y/n had taken when he became a demon.
Inosuke and Zenitsu breathed in, getting their beathing techniques ready. Lightning surrounded Zenitsu as Inosuke's blade turned a red color. They both aimed their blades at Y/n who was reaching out to them to kill them.
Inosuke and Zenitsu let out a yell and jumped over Y/n. The demonized Y/n seemed shocked that the slayers jumped over him. Blades stabbed themselves into Y/n's calves and the ground, making him unable to move.
Y/n let out a screech of pain as he tried to reach over and take the blade out. However, his arms were quickly grabbed by Inosuke and Zenitsu, immobilizing him. Y/n wasn't strong, he was fast, but if you take his speed away from him, he is almost useless.
Y/n screamed and thrashed around in Inosuke's and Zenitsu's hold, but they just held onto him tighter. He couldn't rip his legs away from the blades, otherwise it would hurt him more. He tried biting at the slayers but they weren't close enough.
The clouds in the air were slowly disappearing, soon the sun rays will hit Y/n's back and kill him from there. But until then, he will render as useless until all the clouds are gone.
Tanjiro walked up to Y/n with heavy breathing. He couldn't help but cry as he watched Y/n screech and scream like an animal to break away. Zenitsu and Inosuke gritted their teeth as they tried not to bawl their eyes out.
"Y/n! Please wake up!!" Tanjiro shouted over Y/n's screeching as he fell to his knees, "You're not a demon, so wake up please!!"
Zenitsu cried even more as he saw how desperate Tanjiro was getting to get Y/n back. He would cry out right now, but his sobs choked him up. Inosuke already had tears coming out of his boar mask, and there was no stopping them.
Tanjiro bowed to Y/n, crying, "Please!! Come back to us, then everything will be okay again!! Just come back, please!!"
The screeching and screaming came to a stop, making the trio's eyes slightly widened in shock. They were replaced with the soft patter sound of water hitting the ground. Tanjiro looked up and his eyes widened.
Behind the clouds over Y/n's eyes were tears and they were rolling down Y/n's cheeks. His lips seemed to quiver as if he was crying. However, he was still a demon.
Tanjiro hesitantly put his hands on Y/n's shoulders and put his forehead on his, "Please, be alive and come back to us," he said in a tired tone.
"Tanji... ro...?" Y/n voice spoke up hesitantly.
The trio quickly looked at Y/n in shock. The clouds around his eyes were gone, his eyes seem to shine a lot more than ever before. They didn't if it was because Y/n was showing emotions or if it was because Y/n was crying.
"I..." Y/n stuttered, "Am I...?"
Tanjiro looked down as his own lips quivered, "Yes..."
Y/n's breath became slightly unbalanced, "Tanjiro... I don't want to die... I'm not ready to die, please... Not yet, I want to grow old with everyone! I still want to live!"
Tanjiro let out small sobs as he clutched his pants with his fists. Zenitsu and Inosuke tightened their grip on Y/n's arms as they started to cry even more. Y/n's tears mixed with blood as they fell to the floor.
"I don't want to die... Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, I want to stay with you, please..." Y/n begged.
Tanjiro couldn't help but cry more, "We're so sorry, Y/n," He said, "We want you to live too, we want you to stay, but we can't. I'm so so sorry..."
Y/n's breathing stuttered, "...Did I do a bad job in life?"
"No, no you did the best job you could ever do," Zenitsu said tears falling like there was no tomorrow.
Y/n looked down, "Have I been a good friend?"
"You are the best-est of a friend that anyone could have!" Inosuke claimed with tears, "You have never been the worst..."
Tears fell more as Y/n cried harder, "Am I going to die?"
The trio fell silent, they didn't know what to say, but hey cried harder for their friend/crush. The sun was just about out of the clouds.
"You know..." Y/n chuckled out, this time it wasn't insane but tired, dry, and a bit warm, "This is the first time I didn't want to die. I wish that I would've lived longer to see how our lives would've been without demons... but now I am one and I don't want you to live with another demon on this earth."
The sun peaked out of the clouds, touching Y/n's almost dead skin, burning him slowly. He hissed slightly in pain but kept it to himself. The trio were crying their eyes out already, they hated seeing Y/n hurt.
Giyuu, Sanemi, Nezuko, Kanao, and Yushiro - who was in the shade - all had tears in their eyes seeing at their friend was slowly burning away in the morning sun.
"Hey, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke," Y/n called out softly.
The trio looked at Y/n with heavy tears.
Y/n smiled warmly at the trio, "Thank you. Thank you for the life I had with you, I love you all so much, I'll miss you all. I hope we'll meet again, even though I don't know where or when that time comes. Thank you, Sayanora."
"Y/n..." Tanjiro muttered as he softly cupped Y/n's face in his hands.
In the hands of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke Y/n turned into dust. The black particles replaced Y/n's body as it was placed in their hands. Inosuke and Zenitsu dropped to their knees as they and Tanjiro cried.
Zenitsu cried out loudly as tears flooded his vison, he yelled his lungs out. Inosuke join in with him, crying even louder almost. The sudden yelling of the duo crying triggered everyone else to start sobbing.
Tanjiro held onto Y/n's ashes close to his chest as he cried. He hiccupped and sobbed as the memories of Y/n flooded into his head and repeated over and over again like a movie. All the good times he had spent with Y/n hurt him so much now.
Tanjiro glanced up from the ground, he noticed a small pile of stuff in Y/n's ashes. There was a feather, boar fur, a paper crane, a heart patterned hand cloth, a snake scale, a tooth, a paper crane, a ribbon, pinwheel, coin, a red bead, two different rings, and finally a fox pin.
Tanjiro's eyes filled with more tears as he picked up the fox pin. He couldn't help but chuckle tiredly and sadly to himself.
"You had it all this time, huh, Y/n?" Tanjiro whispered to himself as he held the pin gently in his hands, "You little lair... I'll miss you too..."
The Kakushi's started to surround the trio, starting to tend to their new wounds again. Nezuko ran up to her brother and started to cry at the loss of Y/n and with happiness that her brother was still alive.
Yushiro breathed in a bit as he held onto his calico demon cat. He looked up at the sky and noticed how still the clouds were today. He smiled as tears fell from his face. The cat meowed and patted Yushiro's shoulder.
"Ah, I'm sorry Chachamaru, it seems like Y/n won't be visiting us anymore..." Yushiro said in a sad tone, "I'm sorry..."
The cat stopped patting Yushiro and looked up into the sky. Yushiro looked up with his cat. Now he had to wait out the sun so that he could go home, to his empty home.
Yushiro gave a small smile up to the sky, "Tamayo-San, Y/n, we did it. Please, take care of each other... I love you both..."
Yushiro looked back down at the Kakushi's and slayers that surrounded Tanjiro and his friends. Since he had no one able to comfort him, he cuddled with his cat.
