Stiles parked the Jeep on the lacrosse field and we got off carrying our lacrosse sticks.
"So you really think she's gonna come back to you?" Stiles asked Scott.
"Yeah, I know she is." Scott replied.
Allison and him had broken up.
"What's up with you and Isaac?" Scott asked.
"We decided to have a new start." I smiled.
"So you're together now?" Scott asked.
"Pretty much yes." I replied.
"Enough of relationships, we came to play lacrosse, remember?" Stiles spoke.
"I have to see if I can still play because of the wound on my arm." I spoke.
"How's it going?" Scott asked.
"It'll leave a scar. I'll look badass." I replied smiling.
"You're a phoenix, I'm sure it'll heal." Stiles spoke.
"Well I hope it doesn't."
He chuckled.
"Hey, you know what I just realized? I'm right back were I started." Scott spoke.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean no lacrosse, no popularity, no girlfriend. Nothing." Scott explained.
"Dude, you still got us." Stiles spoke.
Stiles took a ball and put it on the lacrosse stick.
"I had you before." Scott stated.
"Yeah, and you still have us." I spoke.
"Life fulfilled." Stiles added.
"Very." Scott smiled.
"Now, remember, no wolf powers." Stiles spoke.
"Got it."
"No, I mean it. No super-fast reflexes, no super eyesight, no hearing. None of that crap, okay?" Stiles stated.
"Okay. Come on." Scott got into position.
"You promise?" Stiles asked.
"Could you just take the shot already?"
Stiles prepared to shoot and I saw Scott's eyes glow.
Bastard.
I smiled.
Stiles shot the ball and Scott caught it quickly.
"I said no wolf powers!" Stiles yelled and we chuckled.
"Let's see if he feels this." I spoke.
"What?" Scott frowned.
I moved my hand and threw a ball at full speed towards him.
The ball hit him and he fell to the ground.
"Yeah, I did feel that." Scott groaned laying on the ground.
Just the three of us. Maybe we weren't popular but we had each other.
And I knew that if I ever found myself in trouble my best friends would come to save me. Because that's what friends do, right?
And we were quite a peculiar group. I was a phoenix, Scott was a werewolf and Stiles...well he was Stiles.
But we were best friends. And that's something that not even a bite can change.
