Nezuko got up and walked over to the bed she was sleeping on before and sat down on the bed as her older brother sat beside her in confusion on why she looked upset as he didn't listen to whatever Shinobu and Nezuko was talking about
Tanjiro soon fell asleep as he kinda needed to restore his energy and Nezuko notice her brother fell asleep so she place him on the bed next to hers and covered him with a blanket
She heard someone open the door as she quickly looked up and saw A female with their hair tied into a ponytail to the side with a butterfly hairpin
"What is it-?" Nezuko asked as the female just kept a smile and said
"Shinobu told me to get you for training as she wanted to train you starting today so you have an hour or 2 of relaxing before her training starts" the female said as she was about to leave Nezuko asked for her name
"Oh-? My name-? It's Kanao" the female called Kanao said after she flipped her coin, "Oh well- My name is Nezuko!" Nezuko said as she smiled with her eyes closed and soon Kanao left
Nezuko decided to sleep to have enough energy to survive Shinobu's training cuz you can never underestimate any training
Nezuko lay down on the bed and slept for the hours she had before training
when training hours was near Nezuko was woken up by Kanao as she sat up and yawned
"So is training gonna start?" Nezuko asked as she got up as she had her usual pink kimono as Kanao nodded and soon Kanao left as Nezuko soon left the room and went to the training room as Kanao was outside waiting and motion Nezuko to follow her
Nezuko saw Shinobu in the middle of the training room
"Arigato Kanao" Shinobu said as she stand in the middle of the training room
Kanao walked towards Shinobu then stood there as Nezuko went beside Kanao
"I will be training you on everything I know so let's start shall we?" Shinobu said as both Nezuko and Kanao nodded as they started with medicine and poison and such
By the end of the month of the medicine and poison training, they took a test if they remember the ingredients for medicine and poisons
And of course they both passed as they start trying their physical strength while learning how to use swords and breathing styles
Shinobu remembered her older sister trying to teach her flower breathing but couldn't actually use flower breathing because of her lack of strength in being able to cut off a demon's head
Shinobu was saddened by the memories of her older sister but her face showed no sadness or even the smallest hint of sadness
Shinobu remembered the techniques of flower breathing and remembered how hee older sister taught on how to use flower breathing
As she used those memories to teach Kanao her adoptive younger sister and Nezuko
Kanao and Nezuko were learning flower breathing and learning how to use a sword just fine
Sometimes Nezuko would try to talk to Kanao when training was done or during break time but Kanao wouldn't talk much or wouldn't even talk sometimes
Nezuko saw Kanao used a coin for some reason so she decided to ask her
"Hey, Kanao uh- why do you use a coin?" Nezuko questioned as Kanao told her after she flipped her coin again
"Well I use the coin to decide when I don't have orders" Kanao said as Nezuko seemed confused
"But why do you use a coin to decide?" Nezuko asked in clear confusion
"Well I can't decide for myself so I use a coin to decide" Kanao said with a smile
"Oh-" Nezuko felt bad she couldn't decide for herself so she want to try to have Kanao decide without her coin one day
And soon they went back to training with Shinobu to learn flower breathing
Shinobu was saddened every time she was teaching Kanao and Nezuko flower breathing as she would have to use her memories of her older sister teaching her about the flower breathing forms
But Nezuko and Kanao were quick on learning how to use swords but they would have trouble learning some of the flower breathing forms
Shinobu had taught them all the forms expect final form
Shinobu didn't want to teach them final form or even have them use final form ever
"Shinobu-san-?" Nezuko said as she and Kanao was supposed to learn final form of flower breathing
Shinobu snapped out of her thoughts "Huh-?" Shinobu said in confusion as she snapped out of her thoughts
"We were supposed to learn final form as you said" Nezuko said
Shinobu sighed
"It's just final form has the possibility of you losing your eyesight and it's very dangerous" shinobu said as both Nezuko and Kanao's eyes wide in shock
"Then- why is it a form!" Nezuko didn't know that a form could be that dangerous
"It could be useful but it can takes your eyesight in exchange" Shinobu said as she sighed again
"I don't want you to use final form and I want you to use it in a really really dangerous situation" Shinobu said as she didn't want Kanao or Nezuko to lose their eyesight
Both Kanao and Nezuko nodded in understanding
They learned to do final form of course
Of course they kept training as another female would train with them
The female was called Aoi Kanzaki
By the end of the second year of their training they went to final selection
Kanao,Nezuko and Aoi were early to Final selection as there were only them there at the moment but soon the place was filled with people
They all waited a bit until two people that looks the same came
A male that could easily be miss gender as a female as he wears a purple kimono with flower patterns with a green obi and wears a wisteria headpiece to the side
And a female that looks similar to her older brother with a purple kimono with flower patterns with a green obi and wears a wisteria headpiece to the opposite side with white hair as her older brother has black hair
"Greetings everyone" the male started speaking
"thank you for gathering tonight for final selection, Mount Fujikasane holds demons that demon slayer swordsmen have taken alive and trapped here" the male continued speaking as he explained that the mountain contains demons that have been trapped here
"Demons hate wisteria flowers which bloom here even out of season, they cover the mountain from its foot to halfway up the slope" the female explained
"However, from that point on the wisteria does not bloom so the demons roam free, you must survive there for seven days" the male continued to explain
"If you do, then you will have passed final selection now go" the female as said as her and her older brother bowed as the people here for final selection ran pass both siblings
Kanao,Nezuko and Aoi didn't go out on their own and stayed together as they fought with the demons that roam free and tried to attack them but they were easily killed
As they were walking they heard something as the ground started to shake a bit as they looked around they saw a demon that was walking towards one of the people that would try to pass final selection
One of the demons hands tried to grab the male but both Nezuko and Kanao were quick as they slice the arm off and landed
Aoi was terrified of the demon
Both Kanao and Nezuko were trying to end the demon's life quickly but it wasn't that easy
The male was coward and ran away while aoi tried to get confidence to help Kanao and Nezuko kill the demon
The hand demon underestimated both Kanao and Nezuko as he got killed after some time and soon Kanao and Nezuko went to Aoi and Nezuko asked if she was alright as Aoi nodded
The rest of the nights was alright and soon the seventh night was done
They were back at where they were before final selection started as they looked around and saw only a two other people was alive
Soon they saw the two siblings again as the siblings were called Kiriya and Kanata as Kiriya being the older one
"Welcome back" one of the siblings said as the other one continued
"Congratulations, I am glad you are safe" the other sibling said as both me and Kanao didn't pay attention much
"First we will provide your corps uniform, we will take your measurements and then engrave your rank" Kanata said
"There are ten ranks" Kiriya said as he started explaining the ranks
"Kinoe, Kinoto, Hinoe, Hinoto, Tsuchinoe, Tauchinoto, Kanoe, Kanoto, Mizunoe, Mizunoto" Kiriya explained the ranks as they continued speaking
"Right now you are all at the bottom rank Mizunoto" Kiriya said
"Then we will assign you a Kasugai crow" Kanata said as she clapped her hands calling for the Kasugai crows to come
"Today you will choose the ore for your sword then it will take up to two weeks for the katana to finish" Kanata said
Soon the Kasugai crows came flying and landing on the remaining people that are now official demon slayers
Expect one person a male with yellow hair had a sparrow land on their hands
"Kasugai crows are generally used for communication but not always" Kiriya said
A male threw their crow off their arm
"I don't care about crows!" The male said angrily
as they hit the female on the head as they grabbed the hair of the younger sibling the male yelled about wanting their kanata now as Nezuko didn't like this and had to stop it as she looked at Kanao who flipped her coin then nodded as Nezuko moved forward as grabbed the males arm
And soon Nezuko broke the male's arm as he didn't let go of the younger sibling
The male let go of the female and sort of fell back a bit as he held his now broken arm
As Nezuko also let go of the male's arm as he sort of fell back
The female was sort of bleeding as blood was coming out of their mouth as they weren't fazed about anything
"Are you done talking?" The older sibling said as they weren't fazed as well
"Then come over here, please choose the ore for making your kanata" Kiriya said
"You choose for yourself" Kiriya said then there was silence for a moment
"... the ore for the sword that will kill demons..." Kiriya soon said then there was silence for a moment again
"And protect you" Kiriya finished as the now official demon slayers looked at the ores shown
A male keep saying that he was gonna die soon and such
Nezuko looked at the ores then choose an ore that her older brother would have probably picked (the same ore Tanjiro picked in the anime)
Kanao looked at the ores and picked one of the ores as the rest of the now demon slayers also picked one of the ores
Kanao,Nezuko and Aoi were easily running back to the butterfly estate and they arrived back at the butterfly estate before night time as they trained with their speed as well before they went to final selection
