Luo Chen cried tearlessly, “But what if… what if it’s the worst scenario I’m imagining?”
Qiao Qing pursed her lips, “I don’t know.”
Luo Chen, “…”
Qiao Qing continued, “If you need me to, I can go dig up your background.”
Luo Chen was surprised, “I have other backgrounds?”
Qiao Qing nodded, “If I’m not wrong, Luo Xingqian isn’t your biological brother. Your parents are also not your biological parents.”
Shock flashed across Luo Chen’s eyes, “Qingqing, you’re not joking, are you?”
Though what his brother did was impossible to understand, this sudden news was hard for him to accept.
Qiao Qing continued, “You can also choose to not know. If I’m correct, they will one day tell you the truth.”
Luo Chen didn’t really understand but said “oh”. Just then, the bell rang to indicate the start of class.
Luo Chen took a look at his watch, “Let’s chat later. Class is starting.”
Qiao Qing nodded.
After the two parted, Luo Chen went to his class and Qiao Qing went to report an excuse of absence. Then, she asked Lang Yin to give her a ride to the underground entertainment district.
The party was held in a giant venue two floors down.
There were all sorts of desserts and fruits placed around the venue. The sofas seats were also very soft. It wasn’t as formal as a banquet. On the contrary, it was more like a small bar.
The first floor down, however, was all private rooms with hidden functions.
There were one sided mirrors installed that allowed them to see exactly what was happening on the second floor down.
By the time Dai Yixin arrived with Su Yan, a portion of the party had already arrived.
Su Yan checked out the setup of the place and saw how casually everyone dressed. Then, she looked down at her’s and Dai Yixin’s formal gowns and blanked out.
She asked Dai Yixin, “Yixin, did we come to the wrong place?”
Dai Yixin’s graceful brows rose as well, “It should be right. I see some members I recognize. They look just like their photos.”
Su Yan then asked, “Isn’t this the super rare party hosted by the World Class IQ members? Why is this so informal? It’s like a casual friends’ gathering.”
Dai Yixin shook her head, “I’m not sure either. I joined the club not too long ago and this is the first time I’m attending their party.”
Su Yan didn’t say much.
Dai Yixin patted the back of her hand, “Don’t be nervous. Come with me and say hi to some senior members.”
She then walked up to a middle-aged man with Su Yan. She smiled and introduced herself, “Mr. Fran, hello.”
The man named Mr. Fran turned around, eyed those two’s gowns, and was taken aback. Then, courteously, he greeted back, “Hello.”
Then…
Nothing.
Dai Yixin looked awkward and tried to find a topic to converse about, “I’m Dai Yixin, I just joined the club and I’m a local. After the party, Mr. Fran, you should stick around and travel for a few days. The weekend is coming up and I’m more than willing to show you around the Capital City.”
Mr. Fran looked at Dai Yixin strangely.
Then, to distance himself, he said nicely, “I’m sorry. My wife gets jealous easily. If she finds out I was out traveling with a pretty young lady, she’d misunderstand.”
