(Y/n) POV
I wake up to Luz comfortably sitting beside me stroking my big brown hair
"It's time to get up, you have magic school in 20 minutes" she says calmingly
"Ehhhh that's lots of time lemme go back to sleep"
"C'mon I wanna see you fly your bird thingy before you go"
"Ok then" I jump up excitedly
A chance to show off, I'll take it!
Luz leaves me to get dressed
I just sit there for a few minutes until I get my lazy ass up and get going
I drag myself over to the closet and take out my blue pants, purple long sleeved shirt, the thing that goes overtop of them and my cowel
I toss the clothes on my bed and take off my shorts, throw on my fresh pants then I take off my shirt
"Hey breakfast is ready" Luz pokes her head in for a second
"AHHHHH WHAT THE FUCK" I slap my arms over my chest and whip my body to face the opposite way
"I'm so sorry I should've knocked sorry, sorry, sorry" Luz says slapping her hand over her eyes and slamming the door shut
Why can't I just have one morning without someone barging in on and scaring me to death
I picked up the pace after that
Rascal follows me down the stairs to grab breakfast
"And the first thing the girl said was hmm Cardinal Lady, I like it" my mom says
Luz and my family laugh at her comment
I look at Luz and she avoids eye contact
She seems embarrassed and awkward
I smile at her
Not the creepy I hope you saw my boobs smile but the it's ok it was just an accident and it's fine smile
"What are you guys talking about?" I ask
"Palismen adoption day" my mom answers
Memories flood my mind of one of the best days of my life
*flashback*
I remember waking up early for a change and being really excited
My mom had quickly flown me to school on Owlbert, and we landed at the grudgby field
I was jittering with excitement
"You are all about to receive your witches staffs and more importantly meet your palismen. This is a crucial step in your magical development, palismen are lifelong partners. They can become both good friends and a powerful tool" Bump said
He whips out his long luscious hair or whatever and stuff happens
Then the most important part comes
My mom blew a whistle and Bat Queen flew down landing with cage full of little palismens
BQ starts their speech "These little ones have not had homes in many years, they want to feel a connection. Kneel and state your deepest wish and your likeminded partner will find you"
After Will, Bosch and few people have gone it's my turn
"I want to finish what my mom started and become the most powerful witch on the boiling isles my own way" I state
Before Bat Queen can even say anything a small red bird speedily flew up to me and turned into a staff
"Hmmm Cardinal Lady, I like it" I say before excitedly running up to my mom
"Did you see that, did you see that" I jumped up and down trying to contain my extreme happiness
"Yes I did, great job kiddo, or should I say Cardinal Lady" she laughs at me
*flashback end*
The memory fades away as I hear my name being called
"(Y/n), (y/n) you there?" Luz waves a hand in front of my face
"Oh yea, what?"
"Let's go" she pumps her legs up and down doing a little happy dance
I walk out of the kitchen, pull on my boots and hold open the door for Luz like the gentlewoman I am
I call Rascal over and lean on the staff
"ok so as you can tell I-"
My palismen slips right out from under me and I land straight in the dirt
"Ow"
Luz runs up to me
Its pretty clear she's holding in giggles
I burst out laughing and so does she
"Are you ok?" She stoped and helped me up
"Happens often, I'm used to it" she chuckled again
She has a cute laugh I mean besides the 1 or 2 snorts she let out
But we're gonna ignore that
"Ok back to what I was saying... ya know what just hop on" I command the staff to lower itself enough for both of us to hop on
"You ready?"
"I guess"
I kick off and we're flying
Luzs POV:
(Y/n)s brown hair keeps smacking me in the face along with tree branches, birds and whatever else you could possibly find in the sky
"You good back there?"
"Yeah, totally" I say, spitting out multiple leaves
She whips around a corner so fast I slip right off her staff
I fall for a second before getting caught right back in the same spot was just sitting.
I grip my hands tighter around her waist
her clothes flatten against her body and I can feel her abs
I feel the temperature rise on my face a little
I bury myself into her shoulder to hide my faint blush but also get out of the wind
Jeez she flies fast
Get it together Noceda, this is not the time for bi panic
She really trusts herself on this cool palismen thing, I don't think I can say the same though
She does a few loops and tricks and we land back down in front of the owl house
"Thanks, that was really cool"
"No problem, I should probably get going now though. I wouldn't wanna upset miss prissy pants and be late again" she smiles and heads off
Who's miss prissy pants?
"Hey Hooty" I say on my way in
"Hey Luz" they call back before I walk in, softly closing the door behind me
"Any injuries?" Eda calls from upstairs after hearing me walk in
"Almost but nope" I say walking up the stairs and over to Eda's room to see her
"That's good"
"Oh did (y/n) tell you grudgby season starts soon?" She asks
"No, what is that?"
"It's a witches sport and (y/n) is obsessed with it, I'm surprised she hasn't already explained every last detail of it to you"
"Oh wow, is she any good?" I hope that didn't sound rude
"Well yea, she's the captain. If you need proof go look at the jacket in her closet"
She is clearly very proud of her daughter
So she's a star athlete, wow this girl is amazing
"It's fine, I believe you" I laugh a little
"LUZZZZZZZ" King calls from downstairs
"I'm coming" I call back
I leave Eda to do her thing and I go see King
"What do you need?"
"Help, my short legs can't reach the snacks"
I lift him up and he grabs the boiling isles equivalent to cookies
"Thank you Luz"
"No problem"
I stand there for a second watching King feed the cookies to Francois, his stuffed bunny
I get bored and walk up to (y/n)s room
She has many little trinkets, trophies and things scattered everywhere, but none the less her room is somehow still very clean
I know I shouldn't go through her stuff but I do anyways
I pull open her closet and pull out a purple jacket
"Must be the grudgby thing Eda was talking about" I said out loud
I pull on the jacket, it's a little big
I mean obviously, my weak nerd arms look skinnier than noodles compared to hers
I take off the clothing and put everything back as it was, it's boring without (y/n) here
(Y/n) POV:
Not gonna lie Amity seemed quite impressed with my timing but, she did still seem pissed off of some reason
I haven't told anyone about new human friend but it's fine, they'll just get a surprise when they come over tomorrow
"Dude, did you just hear what I said?" Boscha asks
"Yes, history blah blah blah I wanna kiss Willow"
"Actually that was pretty accurate but nice try" she moves her face up in front me, and pushes my face over a little to look at her
"We need to get this project done, it's due tomorrow"
"Calm down tri-eye it'll be fine"
"Ughhh just do your work" she rolls all three of her eyes, their funny because I don't know which of them to look at sometimes
*timeskip to end of school*
As I pack my things Amity walks up to me and hands me a note
Will you walk me home from school?
Love, Amity
"Huh?"
My crush just asked me to walk her home and all I say is huh, I am such a dumbass.
"What, lemme see" she tips my hand back and reads the note
Her face becomes bright red and she looks very angry
Is she mad at me? What did I do? My thoughts are interrupted by Amitys loud yelling
"EDDDDD EMMMMM GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE" she whips around to look at the trouble making twins
They threw a nervous thumbs up to us before running away as fast as they could
"What happened?"
"They told me to give you this very important note and not to look at it" she rolls her eyes
"Ohhhhhh" Ed and Em we're trying to set us up, again
"Well no matter who wrote it I'd be happy to walk you home" I give her a big comforting smile before grabbing the last of my stuff and holding out my arm
She takes it and we walk out of the school
Not gonna lie, I feel pretty cool right now
*time skip*
"I better see you out in the bleachers next season, and I'm gonna be pretty sad if I don't hear my name being cheered for by miss Blight herself" I turn and walk backwards
"I'll try to make it to a few games ok"
"Ok but just so you know expect to see my sweaty ass show up at your house right after the game when you can't make it"
"What, why would you do that?" she says
"Um because who wouldn't want to see the hot grudgby captain after shes just won a game"
She just laughed. I was hoping for a jokingly I know right or at least something to boost my ego
She noticed my cocky grin fall a little
"So... how is it at the owl shack?"
"Eh nothing interesting" I know that's a flat out lie because a human is currently living with me, but we're not gonna ruin the surprise for her just yet
"And we have arrived at your destination" I jokingly bow as she pushes open the big gates to the Blight manor
She waves to me as we part ways
I turn the opposite way back down the path and head home
I summon my staff after realizing how stupid I was to waste 45 minutes on walking, when I could've just flew her home and straight into her room
But I did like the quality time with her though so I guess it really wasn't a waste
I fly home quickly, excited to see my new human friend
I burst through the door "IM HOME" I yell
"(Y/N)" King squeals
He runs into the room and I pick him up
"Where where you? I thought school ended like and hour ago" Luz says
"Probably with her girlfrienddddddd" King coos
"Girlfriend? I didn't know you had a girlfriend"
"We're not girlfriends how many times do I have to say it" I plop King down on the couch
"Who were you with then?" Luz asks
"Amity" I mumble
"I KNEW IT" my mom yells from the kitchen
"I knew it, I knew it" she sings
"Shut up" my aunt says
"You guys are weird" I slap my forehead with my palm
"Soooo, who's Amity?" Luz lays down on the couch resting her head on her hands and her feet kicking back and fourth
"We'll, she's one of my best friends"
"And she has a masssive crush in her and she sneaks to her house to snugg-"
I throw my hands over Kings mouth
"Ohhhh, you've got he hots for her don't ya" Luz wiggles her eyebrows
"What no, we're just friends and King was obviously been fed rumours and false information"
"Uh huh"
"Uhhhh I have homework so..." I speedwalk upstairs trying to avoid all this embarrassment
