I love you he wanted to say. The young grim reaper held his head in the palm of his right hand. I love you Maka Albarn I want you to be forever mine! Not your weapon's...mine... Just... Mine... He wanted to scream.

"Kid? Are you okay? You seem a bit spacey." The strawberry blond asked. Today she had her hair pulled back in a solid, symmetrical pony tail. She wore her lazy clothes, the ones she usually wore when the whole group got together to play basketball, a yellow hoodie, peach jeans and sneakers. Kid loved it when she came over and helped him study. But his feelings grew every time he saw her, mesmerized by her beauty.

"A-ah yeah sorry I got side tracked I thought there was a miss placed book...heh..." He said awkwardly, yet the meister didn't catch on.

"Oh alright... typical... Now, lets get back to work!" She snatched up a large and heavy textbook. "Or so help me Death I will beat you with this!!"

No you won't.. He thought.

"Of course Maka-chan. Okay test review, when dissecting a-- WHAT?! NO THAT SPECIES IS PERFECTLY SYMMETRICAL!!" He ranted at the top of his lungs, holding his head in dispare.

"Oh dear...lets say that this one is asymmetrical..." She had a cartoonish sweatdrop on the side of her head.

"...fine..." He grumbled.

They got threw the study session without too many slip ups. Kid failed at flirting as usual. Blushing when she touched his hand and failed attempts at pecking her cheek or stealing a kiss.

"Ah... Thank you for helping me study, Maka. I truely appreciate it." He said as he shoved his hands into his pockets. In truth he didn't need to study. He knew all the material like the back of his hand. Though he acted ignorant around her just so he would have an excuse to spend time with her.

"No problem! Just let me know when you wanna meet up to study again." The blond chirped.

"Of course. But before you go..." The young reaper began in his calm tone. Though that was short lived. "Nevermind... Have a nice night, Maka." He said with a soft, shy smile gracing his features.

"Oh, ugh... yeah... See ya, Kid." Maka was confused, though she didn't dare question it. The large door of Gallows mannor slowly came to a close with the reaper inside. The loud click that came from it didnt help at all, in adding to an errie feel.
Kid walked away from the door, only to be greeted by Liz.

"You let her get away, again?" She asked with her arms crossed over her chest. She was wearing a plain pastel blue tanktop that allowed viewing of her naval and blue jeans.

"Go away Liz..." He muttered as he walked past her and towards the stairs behind her, though her arm shot out and blocked him.

"Do I need to get your mom?" She asked in a teasing tone. A disgusting mocking tone that made him cringe.

"Unless you wish to go to the depths of Hell and drag her back from the pit of despair she threw herself in. No." He growled in a bitter tone. It was made obvious that he was not happy.

"Geez chill Kid I was just kidding. So what happened with Maka?" She asked as she leaned down to be eye level with her dear meister.

"I... said goodbye and sent her home.." he muttered as a tint of pink crossed his pale cheeks.

"Oh... so you chickened out. God you're such a whimp. The next Lord Death can't even get a date." Liz sighed and moved her arm down, giving the reaper a way up stairs. "Man up."

"I'm afraid. Elizabeth. For what reason shouldn't I be? Just because I'm not perfectly human doesnt mean I'm void of emotion." He said as his lips pursed. Though he soon raised a brow. "It's quiet. Where's Patty?" He asked with a hint of panic filling his voice.

"Out. She went over to Tsubaki's. Black Star wanted to talk to her about something." Kid only nodded in understanding. A wave of relaxation coming over him. "Kid, you need to ask her out already. You have plenty of oprotunities and I'm sure Maka would be happy to go out with you. It's not like she is with any one el-" Liz was then cut off.

"Soul, she has Soul. Why be with someone like me when she has him? She has know him for so much longer and trusts him far more than I." Kid said in defense of his own foolish worries.

"So what? She has Soul. Okay, thats her weapon. I'm your weapon and I don't want anything romantic from you." Liz smiled and tilted her head to the side though Kid had started walking. She followed him up from behind.

"Well yes, we are like family. Though Maka and Soul... when you look at them, doesn't it seem like something more?" He asked as his hands slid into his pockets.

"Not really, they look the same as you and I. I dont see anything romantic there, unlike Black Star and Tsubaki. There is obviously something between those two." Liz said as she followed close behind him.

"Thank you Liz." Kid said with a smile before letting his expression grow grim. "NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!" He barked as he opened the door to his bed room and slammed it shut behind him.

"Geez.. someone's mad.." Liz muttered as she walked to her own room. Letting plans form within her mind.

"What an awkward study session, I don't know why he even bothers. He knows the material, it's evident that he does." Maka grumbled to herself as she walked. Her hands were clasped behind her back and her shoulders rose as she released a sigh. "It's pointless. Plus he's spacing out half the time. I'm basically a means to stay on task." She muttered angerly, tightening her grip on her hand. "Ow! OW!" She was quick to release, her hand was turning red and she rubbed it to sooth the intense pain she plagued herself with.

"Fresh baked goods! Come and give them a try! The very best in Navada!" A female baker called out, drawing Maka's attention to a table stacked to the high heavens with sweets. Well thats an overexageration. But there, right in front of her sat dozens of deserts that made her mouth water. Scones, cakes, puddings, cookies, pies, oh you name it!

"I... really shouldn't... ahh they smell so good.." She murmured to herself. She bit her lower lip and pouted when it escaped her teeths grip. "Just... one..." She told herself. Maka smiled, she walked up to the woman and asked for a sample of the strawberry cake and of the chocolate chip cookies.

"Here you go Miss..." The woman started but soon trailed off, though in her hand was a paper plate with a fork resting on it with the sweet creations beside it.

"Albarn. Maka Albarn. Thank you so much..." Maka did the same as she squinted to catch the name embrodered on the smock she wore. "Kimberly!" She smiled and released a small laugh, thinking of her pink haired friend who owned the same name. Though her friend was quick to leave her mind as Maka had returned to her original path. Her emerald eyes looked on ahead and down at her plate to take skillfully snag a chunk of cake and slip it between her lips without bumping into the civilians who passed by her. Though she soon gave up her dodging game and leaned against a tree. The scent of coffee coming clear from the DeathBucks across the street. "Ugh... gross.." She murmured under her breath. She could taste the bitter coffee in her mouth without even tasting it, the smell alone was just enough. Her olive eyes grew saddened when she saw the cake was gone, oh how it was lie. She sighed and picked up the sweet cookie. "I don't understand how anyone can drink that stuff... Let alone enjoy it." She grumbled. Her pastel pink lips opened to take a massive bite out of the innocent dessert within her grasp though a second chomp and the poor thing was gone for good. Kid loves coffee... Maka was quick to shake her head at her foolish thoughts. She had no clue why Kid was so quick to come to mind. He drinks it all the time. She twirled her hair around her index finger, hardly noticing the sound of a roaring engine coming from behind her.

"Yo, Maka. Wanna ride?" A cocky voice said. Maka spun around to see her weapon, Soul. He was sitting on his bike, sun glasses on with a leather jacket. Oh, he looked like a douchebag. "You got somethin on your face." He said he wiped over his mouth. Maka's face grew red as she frantically wiped her mouth with her jacket's cuff.

"S-Shut up!" She said as soon as she was positive she had gotten off the last few crumbs. "And yes! I want a ride." Her steps towards him were full of frustration to say the least. She swung her leg over his bike and wrapped her arms around his waist. Her body was pressed against his back.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever. Just don't fall off." He said with a laugh. Maka gave him a squeeze, only to recieve more laughter from him. She only sighed. He reaks of leather... Her head was resting on his back. She felt so comfortable like that, with the wind blowing back her hair, the scent of leather attacking her. It was perfect. To her at least. Kid always smells like chocolate and vanilla... Maka blushed at her thought. She had never really cared to think about something so trivial as how a male smelt.. Until this moment she didn't really notice. She was just lost in a daze, where kishins didn't exist and she could be a normal girl. That was it. That was excatly what it was.
