Three passed. Jay kept on visiting the Cullens to play with Renesmee. Quill would always come with him, just to make sure his younger brother was alright. He knew the Cullens wouldn't do anything to him. But Jay was only fourteen in a house full of vampire and in their lives, anything could happen. So he wanted to make sure his younger brother was safe.

The Ataera siblings also joined the Black pack. Most of their close friend were part of the pack and they were the closest to the Cullens. Even though  the Uley pack were like brothers to them, they could feel their uneasiness about Renesmee and the Cullens.

During these three days, Jacob got to meet with Sam about the Quileute territory. They came to an ageeement according to which they would share land. Both packs could wander anywhere but each would still have on part of the land assigned to them. This idea actually came from Emily and backed up by Kim and Rachel. As she was the Clearwaters' cousin, that Kim was Evie's best friend and Rachel was Jacob's sister, none of them wanted to be separated from their family. So the three women talked to Sam about being able to still meet with them. That's how they came to this agreement. Even though they all got separated because of a disagreement, they were still family.

Quil's and Embry's fathers both joined the council of the Black pack. The latter was becoming more and more organized. Their HQ and meeting place was Jacob's house. As he was the Alpha, it seemed the only logical choice.

However, on the Cullens side, most of them were still quite worried. Especially Edward. Bella still hadn't awaken from her death sleep. Carslile was confident of the rebirth as a vampire. But the more the days passed, the more anxious they all grew.

On the third day, the Black pack decided to chill at the beach. Now that it was all over, they could finally relax and enjoy life. But before that, both Jacob and Evie visited the Olympic coven. As the usual, Jay was playing with Renesmee under the soft gaze of everyone. Jay was trying to make her out the circle into the right shape, not the square one.

Seeing Renesmee alive was so surreal. Who could have thought that an hybrid could exist? But regardless of all the hardship they went through, all of them were happy to see hear her heart beating. And even if he wasn't expressing as much as Rosalie was, Edward was beyong blissful. But the death sleep of his beloved was overshadowing his joy.

Leaning on the railing of the balcony, he was softly smiling as he watched his only daughter playing with Jay. Seeing him away from the others, Evie decided to go talk to him.

"Will you keep staying alone in the balcony?" Evie asked as she stepped out of the living room. "I hope this time alone his useful. Do you meditate?" She joked. Edward slightly chuckled.

"I use it to think," he only said.

"About what?" Evie asked as she leaned onto the railing next to him.

"About the future," he said. "About wether or not I'll be a good father for Renesmee. About wheter I have the shoulders for that. I'm afraid to not be enough. To not prepare her well for this harsh world. The human world is cruel, but the supernatural one is worse. And she is different. She's an hybrid. We know nothing about her kind. We don't know how people will react to her. Will they be afraid? Will they accept her? And what about the Volturi? Will they want her? Or will they want to kill her? Will I be able to protect her? I don't want her to hate herself, I want her go grow confident about herself,"

Evie couldn't help but tenderly smile at him. Edward was a good man. She knew he would be a great father.

She gently took his hand in hers, causing him to look at her. She could see all the worries and fear in his eyes. He usually looked so strong and confident, it was a new sight of him that she had before her.

"The fact that you worry so much about these things shows how much care to have for her," Evie smiled. "It shows how much you love your daughter. And how much you take your role of a father seriously. It shows how pure and genuine your heart is. You are worried about her well being. You are worried about things that are yet to happen, about things that will happen in years. You are putting her before yourself. It already shows bow good of a father you are, Edward,"

"You have so much faith in me," he said, gratefully. "But raising a child is a great responsibility. I'm not complaining. I'm bless to have Renesmee. And I'll do anything for her. But what if I fail as a father? What if Bella never awaken, how should I tell her?"

"Being a father is a great responsibility," she continued. "And it kinda happened unexpectedly for you, you are going to learn on the moment but you're not alone. You have Esme and Carlisle. Heck, even Rosalie! We'll all be there to help you. And Bella will awaken. It's just a matter of time,"

"Thank you, Evie," Edward sincerly said. "For everything. For being here,"

"I'll always be there for you, Ed," Evie smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. Edward chuckled and passed his arms around her shoulders.

The extreme coldness of Edward's body should be disturbing to Evie as it clashed with her high body temperature. But it was actually comforting. And Edward felt the same. Her warmness was balancing his coldness. They were somehow completing each other. It reminded Evie about something. About a conversation she had with Paul about imprinting.

"But he's your soulmate," Paul said, referring to Jacob when he was chasing Bella.

"Soulmates are not necessarily lovers," Evie responded at the time.

Even though at the time she only said that to get Paul to shut up, now she truly believed it. Soul mates were real. But there was not only one kind of soul mates. The romantic soul mate to whom you feel a great love. A person with whom you are willing to spend the rest of your life with and beyond. To whom you would live an epic love story. To whom you are deeply connected to extend people could not fathom out. This soul mate would be Jacob to Evie. She couldn't see herself without him and the passionate love she held for him was endless and fierce and ardent.

But there was also the other kind of soul mate. The platonic one. The one with whom you relate deeply. The one with whom you just clicked. The one you feel an intense love. The one your soul connect with. This soul mate would be Edward to Evie. And this would be Evie to Edward. They were always helping each other out, protecting each other and understand each other. They did not hold a romantic love for each other. But the type of love that they felt for one another could be as strong as the one they held for their other halves.

"I'm glad I phased. Because I got to become your friend," Evie said.

"I had to admit, for the first time, I am glad I am a vampire," he smiled as well. "Because I got to meet you,"

"We've been through hell," Evie chuckled.

"I honestly wonder how we are still alive," he joked.

"Tell me about it," she laughed.

"Hey, Evie," Edward called. Even though he tried to hide it, the shifter still noticed the hint of seriousness in his voice. "I still have to talk about it with Bella, but I don't think she would be against it,"

"What is it?" Evie asked.

"Would you like to become Renesmee's godmother?" He asked.

Evie imediatly straightened up and shot her head up. She stare at him, shocked. Did she just hear him right?

"What...?" She just managed to say.

"Yeah, you heard me," Edward chuckled. "Would you like to become my daughter's godmother?" He repeated.

Evie stared at Edward. She examined his face, looking for any sign of lie or playfulness. But Edward was hundred percent serious.

"Are you serious...?" Evie asked with a trembling voice. Tears were making their way to her eyes. She more than just moved to hear him say that. Edward was trusting her enough to make her his only child's godmother. It meant that if something happened to them, she would be the one who would take care of Renesmee. Edward trusted her to be a parent figure to his daughter. Evie could not be more honored.

"Hey, if I knew it would have made you cry, I wouldn't have asked you," he joked.

"Shut up," Evie sobbed, as tears of joy fell down her cheeks. Edward laugh.

"So?" He asked, even though he already knew the answer.

"Of course I accept, idiot!" She sobbed even more.

Edward laughed as he hugged her. He led her back inside the living room where everyone were already smiling at them.

"I see he told you," Rosalie chuckled as the sight of Evie.

"You knew?" Evie asked.

"Of course," Alice beamed. "Edward told us beforehand,"

"I can't believe this," Evie said as she slightly calmed down, drying her tears of joy.

Jacob made his way towards her and took her hand in his to calm her down which worked.

On the floor, Renesmee spread her arms wide towards her father when she saw him. Edward smiled as he went to pick her up. The little baby made herself comfortable into the arm of her father as he rocked her to sleep.

Everything was complete. Almost.

After the visit at the Cullens, Evie and Jacob joined the pack at the beach. Seth, Sarah, Quil and Embry were fooling around near the sea while Aaron was sat on the sand, Leah lied, her rest on his laps. They were officially together. Evie couldn't be more happy for her sister.

Both Evie and Jacob sat next to them. They talked about everything and nothing. Evie told them what happened at the Cullens, then they all discuss about what they would do now that peace was back in Forks.

"Hey, did you know Emy is about to phase? She is in transition," Aaron said.

"Emy? As Emy Cote? Your cousin?" Leah asked, surprised.

"Yep," Aaron nodded proudly.

"It means another female shifter! I hope she'll join us," Evie said.

"I think she will," Aaron said. "She's close to Sarah so she would want to stay with her. And her parents want her to be with us. Since Sarah and I are here, they would be more relieved and less anxious,"

"I'm so glad more and more women are becoming shifters," Leah said. "Maybe one day will be enough to create another pack,"

"Wait- you plan to leave?" Both Aaron and Jacob stressed, causing Evie and Leah to burst out in laughter.

"Who knows? Just don't piss us off, and we'll stay," Evie playfully smirked.

"You two really are sisters," Aaron rolled his eyes.

"Hey!" They heard Seth call. "We're going to play volley. Wanna play?"

"Hell yeah! I'm going to destroy y'all," Aaron shouted back. "Babe?" He asked Leah.

"Yeah, I'll play," she nodded as they both stood up. "You two?" She then asked both Evie and Jacob.

"Nah, I'm just gonna stay here," Evie said. "And recover all the energy I lost during these past few days,"

"Same here," Jacob said. Leah nodded and she and Aaron left to join the others.

A little awkward silence took place before the two lovers. Jacob kept glancing at Evie. He moved his hand closer to hers but then moved it away. He didn't know if he should. He didn't know if they were back together or not so he didn't want to make a faux pas and make the situation any more awkward. But his stressful self did not go unoticed to Evie. She found his fidgeting kind of cute actually. She softly smiled. Then an idea crossed her mind.

Evie then lied down on the sand, resting her head onto Jacob's laps, surprising him. He looked down at her, taken aback.

"Is it okay if I stay like that?" She asked. Jacob smiled.

"Of course," he said as he brushed her hair with his hand.

"I feel like it has been ages since we hadn't rest properly," Evie chuckled.

"Yeah," Jacob chuckled. "Too many things happened in a short amount of time. I'm glad it's all over again. I can finally sleep at night,"

"Yeah, I had bags under my eyes for days!" Evie exclaimed.

"Yet you were still beautiful," Jacob said without thinking. Evie smiled and looked up at him.

"Really?" She teased as Jacob seemed to realised what he just said.

"No- I mean- Yeah, you were beautiful- I mean 'is' because it wasn't just then- I'm not saying your beauty is occasional, not at all- it's just- you know... I- I'm just gonna shut up," he muttered the last part. Evie couldn't help but burst out of laughter as Jacob sighed of embarrassment.

"You are very handsome too," Evie smiled. Jacob looked down at her.

The Clearwater girl then lifted her hand to pass it through his hair, softly looking at him. Slowly, her hand went down, caressing his face tenderly. Jacob leaned more against her palm as he closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling of her skin against him.

Evie sat up and face Jacob.

"I miss you," Evie said. Jacob opened his eyes and looked straight at her. "Time have passed. I saw you made efforts and still is. And with everything that happened... I just want to be with you. But I don't want things to end up the way they did,"

"I'm changed," Jacob said in a serious way. "I'm new. I'm not as troubled as I was. Now I know who I want to be. I know what I want. I want to be someone responsible. I wang to be a good Alpha. I want to be someone you can count on. I want to be someone the pack can rely on. I want to be someone you are not ashamed of. And I want you. I want to be with you. I want to make you happy. Now I promise you, I will behave like a imprintee should behave. I will treat you the way you deserved to be treated. And these are not just words. This time I'm going to keep my words. This is not an empty promise,"

"You better be right," Evie said. "Because I don't want to go through this pain again. I don't think I can,"

"I promise you you won't," Jacob said, determined. And Evie could see the truth in his eyes.

As they stared into each other's eyes, their faces moved closer to one another to the point they could feel the other's breath on their lips. The temptation was so strong.

"Not anymore," he hadn't in a low voice that sounded extremely attractive to Evie's ear.

His face was only centimeters away from hers. Evie was lost in the darkness of Jacob's eyes. Closer, he was even more handsome. Her eyes darted onto his lips. All she was thinking of was crashing her lips on Jacob's. And feelings his hot breath on her face, on her lips wasn't helping at all.

On the other hand, Jacob stared back into Evie's eyes. Big precious jewels he could stared into forever. He had always found her attractive, but now that she was right in front of him, so close to him, he realised how ethereal she was. Small face, big eyes, rosy cheeks, long eye lashes, and most of all, rosy lips. Seeing her so close, feeling her body against his, he didn't his breath became uneven. His eyes slowly went down to look at her lips.

Their hearts were beating so fast into their chest. They were beating at the same rhythm, at the same pace. They were beating in sync. They were on the same line.

Jacob reached for Evie's face and put a strand of her hair behind her ear to have a better look of her face. He then slowly leaned in.

"Don't make me regret giving you a second chance," Evie whispered. Her voice sounded so sultry to Jacob's ears.

"You won't," he whispered back. He was just at millimeters away from her lips.

"I hope so," she said just before crashing her lips against his. They both closed their eyes, enjoying the moment even more. Evie cupped Jacob's face as she sat up on him. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. Their mind were blank as their lips moved in sync. Jacob slid his hand on her back. Evie felt a chill down her spine and electricity through her veins at the feelings of his skin against her. Jacob tilted his head on the side to have a better angle as Evie moved closer to him, pressing her body against his. Her other hand found its way in his hair as she moaned of content. Jacob bit her bottom lip, asking for access which she gave. The kiss became even more passionate. Evie moved even more closer as she grabbed his shirt. But Jacob suddenly broke the kiss, panting and breathing for air.

"Stop moving," he breathed.

"What?" Even asked, as she kissed him once more. Jacob kissed her back as he placed his hand on her back, pulling her closer.

"Wait," he said.

"Jake," Evie left kisses down his neck, making him sigh of content.

"We shouldn't be doing this here," Jacob breathed.

"Then what do you propose?" Evie asked.

"My father is not home right now," he said. Evie looked at him. He was smirking.

"Then let's go," Evie smirked too.
