~KAITLYN'S POV~
Hi! I am Kaitlyn Marie and I am 18 years old! Yes, I have the same middle name as my best friend. Weird isn't it? Just like Niall had a friend called Niall! Which, by the way, I think those two are freaking adorable. Niall and Abby, not Niall and Niall. That'd be weird... xD
Any who, I really like Harry Styles and am super excited for our date. Even though he refuses to tell me where we're going.
The Oreos thing was really sweet and I loved it! But I didn't enjoy being dragged out the door...
"Harry," I whined again. "Please tell me?"
I saw him smirk. "Ha, hell no." I just glared at him and began to pout. "Don't worry, we're almost there." We pulled up to a woodsy area. I saw a small river nearby. Harry walked to the boot of his car and pulled out a basket. He reached into it and tossed me my bathing suit.
"Um, ho-" I stopped. "Abby?"
"With the help of Niall." He grinned at me. "Now, go get changed."
"Where exactly can I do that?" Harry pointed towards a small building with a toilet. "Thanks."
I walked into one of the stalls and stripped down. I got into my bikini and thought to myself, [how the hell did I end up having two awesome best friends?]
I grabbed my bag and walked back outside and saw Harry was sitting on the hood of his car in nothing but his swim trunks. He turned and saw me and he smiled. "Did you know you're really pretty?"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, Harold."
"No," he motioned for me to come towards him. "You are. I guess that's why I was so nervous about asking you to come with me today." He looked up at the sky which was beginning to turn gray.
"You were nervous?" I asked as I leaned against the car as well. I suddenly felt shy and insecure in my bathing suit. I mean, Harry is so perfect, but I'm just okay.
"Of course!" he exclaimed. "And I've always been confident when it comes to girls. You are one of the first girls I've ever been nervous or shy around."
"Well, that makes two of us then." He laughed. Next thing I know, he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "Put me down!"
"No," he said smugly. I glared at the ground. Harry began to walk so I just crossed my arms and continued to stare at the grass and dirt beneath me. Suddenly, I was thrown into the air and came splashing into the water. As I came up and got the water out of my nose, I heard another splash. I turned and saw Harry coming up out of the water laughing. I splashed him.
"That wasn't funny!" I yelled as I tried to dodge his splashes.
"It was very funny!" he yelled back as he laughed. He swam over to me and swam down. I felt him grab my ankle, then I was pulled under too. Luckily, I was able to take a breath before being pulled down.
We both floated back up and I decided to play a game with him. I glared at Harry then turned away. I began to swim back up to shore and I heard him follow. I smiled to myself and Harry began to shout my name.
"Kaitlyn! Kait!" I ignored him. I stood up and walked onto the grass towards the car. Rain was beginning to fall. The basket was sitting on the hood and I reached into it. Sure enough, a towel was inside. I pulled it out and began to dry myself off when Harry ran over to me. "Kaitlyn, what's wrong?"
I, like Abby, really got into acting so I was able to feign anger with ease.
"You. You pulled me down and I couldn't breathe!" Harry grabbed my arm but I pulled him off. The rain got harder and just kept my skin damp, so I gave up on the towel. "Don't." I turned on my heels and began to walk off.
Harry grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. Then he was kissing me. I froze in shock. Then I kissed back. His hands moved to my waist and my hands tangled in his curly hair, which was very soft, almost as soft as his lips.
The kiss seemed to last forever and I felt him smile into it. I smiled too and he pulled back, but our noses were still touching.
"Does that make up for it?" he whispered. I smiled and nodded, I was at a loss for words. "Good. I've been wanting to do that for a while."
"Huh?"
"I've wanted to kiss you since the day you came to London." He smiled. "And I figured, this'll either make things better, or just make things worse. So I took a chance."
We both had moved so we were leaning up against the car again. I snorted. "I hope you realize, I was never really mad. I was messing with you."
He just stared at me for a moment before speaking. "Well, I feel stupid."
"Don't," I said kissing his cheek. He turned his head and started to lean in to kiss me again, but I pulled back.
Harry looked at me, his expression confused. "Is something wrong?"
"Don't you think we may be moving too fast?" I asked. "I mean, kissing on the first date like this?"
"Abby and Niall did it."
"They've known each other forever! They've really liked each other since they were thirteen!"
"So?"
"So, it's okay for them to do this!" I sighed and snuggled close into Harry's side as he put his arm around me. "I just don't want to be called a slut or whatever for making out with a guy I met one, two weeks ago."
Harry pulled me infront of him. His green orbs stared into mine and he spoke softly. "I don't care what other people have to say about you. They can hate and be jealous. But you are [not] a slut. You never will be. And if anybody, I don't care who it is, calls you one or hurts you in any way, I will tell them off. They will definitely regret calling you one. I swear to God that I will never let anything bad happen to you. I know I've known you for barely two weeks, but I want you, Kaitlyn. I want to kiss you, hold you, hug you, and call you my own. Will you please, please be my girlfriend?"
I smiled and felt my face get warm. I looked down at my feet for a moment, then back up into Harry's eyes and my smile grew. "Yes."
Harry huge me tightly and then picked me up again. He walked to the edge of the river, but this time he didn't throw me in. This time, he jumped in, still holding onto me. I felt the cool water wash over my body and then came back up for air.
"Harry," I said a little uncertainly. "What about the fans?"
"Directioners are really nice. If they can't accept you, then they aren't true fans. They love Eleanor and Danielle, and are already beginning to love Abby as well, so why shouldn't they love you?"
"Because, I'm not a model like Eleanor, a dancer like Danielle, or as gold an actress or singer as Abby. Of course, they don't know about Abby's talents, but still. I am nothing special."
"You're special to me Kait," Harry said slowly. I smiled and he pressed his lips to mine once more. "Let's go."
"Go where?"
"Back to my flat. We were going to have a picnic out here, but I didn't think to check the weather for rain. But it does make sense, seeing as it is London. So, I suppose we'll have dinner at my place, then we can watch a movie."
"Sounds good," I smiled. He grinned back and hugged me again. We both ran to get changed in the bathrooms, then met under the awning that was attached to the doorways.
"Ready?" Harry asked, grabbing my hand. I gave him a big smile and squeezed his hand.
"Ready." We ran, still hand-in-hand, back to Harry's car, trying to stay as dry as possible. We got into the car and laughed because we were both drenched. Our attempt to avoid getting wet was an utter failure. Harry started the car and began singing along to the radio. I recognized the song right away as Chasing Cars by the Snow Patrol. I smiled as I remembered watching the boys sing this on the X-Factor, long before I knew any of them. About halfway back to Harry's, I realized something. "Harry, what about Louis?"
"What about him?"
"Won't it be a little weird if he's there too? Considering he does live with you. I'd rather not be a third wheel in case some Larry action starts going on."
Harry laughed. "No, he's hanging with Abby, Niall, Zayn, and Liam tonight back at Abby's flat. It's just gonna be us."
"Okay." We soon pulled up to Harry's and we both opened our doors. We walked until we reached the door to his flat. He unlocked it and pulled it open.
"After you, miss," he said in a very gentlemanly manner.
"Why, thank you," I laughed as I walked inside. It was a nice place, but it was a bit messy.
"Sorry for Lou's mess," Harry apologized.
"Its okay. Abby isn't much better." I laughed. "I never said that."
"Okay," he winked. "I had Abby pack pajamas for you in case you wanted to be comfortable or get tired. You know, just to hang out in. So, if you want to go change, I will too and then we can eat."
I nodded. "Works for me." Harry turned and dug around in the basket until he found my pajamas. Abby had packed my favourite pair. They were flannel and were a peachy-orange. They were super soft and Abby had gotten me them for Christmas. I loved them. Harry directed me to his bathroom and then he left me to change and to go change as well. Luckily, my underwear was mostly dry, so I didn't have to worry about that awkward situation. After I had changed, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw that my makeup had gotten smeared due to the rain. I need waterproof mascara, I thought to myself as I searched for a washcloth I could use to wash my face with.
I realized that I was digging through a bathroom shared by two boys, and I should be cautious because who knows what I could find. Luckily, I found a clean washcloth in a sink drawer, and didn't come across any disturbing or embarrassing items. I took my hair tie off of my wrist and threw my hair up in a ponytail. I washed my face with hot water and a new bar of soap I found in my search for the washcloth, then tossed the cloth in Harry's clothes bin. I looked at myself one last time and decided I look fine.
I walked out of the bathroom and went back to the living room where I found Harry spreading out a blanket on the floor. He looked up to see me and smiled. I saw that silverware was set on the counter, along with some food. "Need my help?"
"No," Harry said happily. "You just sit your pretty little self down and I'll set everything up." I laughed and sat down at one end of the blanket as Harry began to set thing on it. Plates, glasses, utensils, a bottle of wine, and some side dishes were all being placed in front of me. "Now, for the main course!"
A small tray of tacos was set before me. "See, you managed to make things work." Harry smiled and nodded. I took a taco and bit into it. It was incredible. "These are amazing, Mr. Styles!" I laughed and so did he. We stood at the counter and ate tacos and just talked for a while. Soon, the tray was empty.
"Movie time!" Harry yelled. He drug me over to the couch and I sat down. He grabbed a movie from a pile of them and put it in the player. "This is one of my favorite films."
I saw the screen begin to fade in and the menu for "The Notebook" appeared. Harry hit play and I giggled. "Did Abby tell you I love this?"
"Maybe," he whispered. The movie began to play. "Now hush."
"If you're a bird, I'm a bird." Noah Calhoun said on the TV screen. Harry and I were snuggled close together. I sat on his lap and was leaning against his chest, while he had his arms wrapped around my waist. I yawned and I was starting to get tired. Harry noticed and stopped the film.
"Let's get you back to Abby's," he whispered in my ear and I nodded. I got up and so did Harry. I had tossed my wet clothes in Harry's dryer, so I went to get them out and put the in the basket. Once I had everything I needed, Harry and I walked outside to his car. I was absolutely shattered, and I fell asleep about a minute into the car ride.
I woke up to find I was being carried into Abby's flat. I looked up and saw Harry was looking down at me. "Hey Sleeping Beauty." He kissed my forehead and I yawned. I heard Abby's voice and it was followed by Niall's.
"Zayn and Liam left a little while ago, and Louis was waiting for you," Abby told Harry. "Apparently, you're taking him home."
"And I'm gonna leave in a bit too," Niall added.
Harry laughed, and I could hear it in his chest. I listened to the rhythmic pattern of his heartbeat and it made me even sleepier. My eyelids closed once more. "Well, just let me put Kait down, then we can go."
I managed to open my eyes again and see that Abby had set up a little bed for me on her couch. Harry laid me down, then covered me up with a blanket and shut off the light that was right next to me.
"G'night Harry," I managed to say.
He leaned down and kissed the top of my head. "Good night, Kaitlyn." I heard him walk away from me, a door opened then closed, and I was alone. I heard Abby and Niall come in a few minutes later, but Niall said goodbye too. I listened as Abby made her way to her room, her footsteps barely audible. Shortly after, I fell into a deep sleep.
