Chapter 13

"We are pleased to inform you that your application to Juilliard University has been accepted." I look blankly at the page.
"Jade."
"What?"
"You got accepted."
"I did? I was? When?"
"Just now."
"Oh my Gosh! Accepted!" I throw my body on top if Daniel, knocking him over, I accidentally (purposely, he just doesn't know it,) bumped my lips into his. He looks at me. I kiss him again, and whispering 'accepted' on his lips. Accepted. I was accepted into Juilliard University. I sit up onto the couch. My mother walks through the door. She's home from work early. I run up to her and hug her tight.
"What happened honey?"
"I was accepted!"
"Into Juilliard?"
"Yes, mom!"
"Well, I guess, we need to have a party to celebrate!"
"That would be awesome!"
"You call your friends, I'll get some decorations. Bake something if you want."
"Okay! For today or tomorrow?"
"Today of course! We need to celebrate today!"
"Okay. Get whatever you want-plus cake." I turn my neck to see Daniel, still on the couch, I give him a thumbs up, and open my mouth into a surprised look. He smirks at me.
My mom runs out of the house and gets back into her car. I grab the house phone and call as many people as I can think of, friends and family both. My aunt and uncle even cancel their dinner plans to come! Everyone is coming in 5 hours, which is no time when planning for a party. Mom comes back with streamers, poster board, balloons, ribbons and sharpies. I'm baking and Daniel grabs a pack of balloons and starts blowing them up. My mother changes and makes a sign. My father walks through the door.
"What's all this?" He asks. He looks at the sign and looks back at me, now grinning from ear to ear. "No." My father says sarcastically.
"Yes!"
"Sweetheart!"
"I got accepted!"
"I'm so proud of you!" He runs upstairs, changes and comes back down to start hanging streamers. Daniel looks red, so I tell him to stir and I take a turn blowing. I finish them, and Daniel and I switch again. He ties coloured ribbons to the bottoms of the balloons and tapes them to the walls. I start cutting sandwiches into quarters and putting them on a plate. My mother hangs the sign. The place looks amazing. I can help but tear up, but from happiness. My mother finishes snacks and dad cleans up the house. The guests are going to be here in 10 minutes. There's a knock on the door. I answer to see Caleb, with Sophie by his side.
