Leila's sky was covered with black clouds and with the glowing moon, the thunderstorms were so loud that being awake was the only option for the people. The roads were blocked because of the storm.
The moon is the only source of light in her room. She got scared easily when she heard a clap of thunder, she covered herself with her comforter and repeated her most used words "it's okay, be okay"
Her hands moved as she played with the Television remote while she was watching a Netflix series. Stranger things.
Aylana Hadid likes to watch weird stuff and stuff that makes her heart flutter and she always says "it's worth it"
Her phone rang she placed her hand on her bed to find her phone but suddenly the light went off, the Tv turned off and she screamed and realized the electricity went off.
And she curses "fuck!"
She left her phone and tried to find her Kishmish Because she was scared and she want to hug him and listen to his mewing.
"My love, where are you?" She asked miserably and walks around the room when she heard her phone ring again she saw the screen flash under the comforter, grabbing her phone. The caller id shows "the woman" with a star emoji placed in front of the name and back of the name.
She sighed with relief and she picked up her mom's call "Asslamalikum" her voice was low and shaking.
Alyana's mother understood it and said "it's fine... I'm gonna be there soon, go to sleep" she followed her mother's instructions and leaned down on her bed.
"You okay there?" She asked her mother softly.
"Yeah I'm fine everyone here was asking about you, they said that the nikkah would have been perfect if you were here with us" she smiled.
"Aww, tell Nadiya that I'm sending love from here, I would have come with you if I wasn't having my patient... Shit!" She let out.
"What happened?"
"Mom! Luc is down in my clinic! I'm scared " she said and grabbed her hair frustratingly
"It's fine I'm on the line you go down and get him" her mom encouraged her with her blessed words.
"I can't..."
"Shut up and go! Luc is down" her mother scolds her.
She sighed and grabbed her phone tightly as she can "be there, mom I'm going" she acts like she is going to war.
Her mother smiled.
She went down the stairs as grabbed her clinic keys and one of the key chains read:
"If the whole world is watching I'd still dance with you go high ways and byways to be there with you over and over the only truth is everything comes back to you"
She got that keychain from certain someone... Who she loved and maybe still does, but every time denies it.
She saw that keychain and grabbed it close to her. she opened the clinic's backdoor that lead to her house and turn the emergency light on. Every Lelia's house has one emergency light, Lelia's weather is not stable all the time.
Aylana searched for Luc where she left him on the bed but he isn't there then she heard his soft grumble voice, she looks down and found him hugging himself she felt guilty leaving him alone.
"Mom I will talk to you later," she said and cut the call. And hugged Luc and carried him to the bed, he was heavy but she managed it because the bed was only 5 feet away and patted him gently.
Luc was a dog, Aylana's neighbor's dog who is ill.
Luc clime on her and lays on her lap she smiled and smooths his hair he sleeps on her lap peacefully.
Then she heard some noises she thought her Kishmish Is making that noises she ignored at first she heard that noise carefully she heard someone was knocking on the door she frowned who will knock in the middle of the night and also storm is still there.
She looks down at Luc, he was sleeping soundly she slightly get up and went upstairs to look and left the door open for Luc, if he woke up he can come to her.
Luc comes often to the clinic so he is very much familiar with Aylana's house. Of course, she loves his company. Aylana prefers animal company more than human beings, she loves animals that is the only reason she decided to become a veterinary and she is happy with what she is.
She claims the stairs when she saw someone was entering from her house door she froze at that moment.
It was a man, a tall man wearing everything black she can't see his face because he hide it with his hoodie she gulped she felt her legs shivering her gut was saying something is going to happen.
She walks with trembling legs towards that man.
When that man insights that someone was behind him, he gradually grabs his gun and moves negligibly back, Aylana didn't notice he was moving back, it was dark and she can barely see him but she acknowledges his figure.
She moved forward to grab the knife from her fruit basket... "That is my favorite knife," she thought.
She was about to grab it but then she heard the footsteps moving towards her quicker she looked up she saw the gunpoint towards her, almost touching her face she holds her breath.
"This is it?"
She thought.
"Don't move" then she heard that man's voice, a low-pitched voice with narrow formant spacing, reflecting a larger body size.
She almost freaked out...
"It's okay be okay" she uses her favorite line.
They heard men's voices outside of the house as the men were having an enormous conversation, she couldn't listen to it because of the storm
She looks up at that guy "if you want to take any-any thing... From here, please take it and go..." She shutters "i-i won't say to anyone" she adds
"Don't move. Stay." His Husky voice is killing Aylana.
He went towards her house door and pecked from it.
"Is he even a thief?" She thought "or the killer?"
She tried to stay calm but she can't then she realized she didn't have her dupatta.
Now she freaked out...
She moves slowly and deliberately back words when her sight falls on the armchair where her dupatta was, she moved slowly.
But that guy glimpsed at her movements when he saw she was grabbing her dupatta, he chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Come here" he ordered. She doesn't have any option so she did what he said.
He looked at her with so much affection that he held for her, the moonlight was falling on her face, revealing her to him, her beautiful face, and soft features. He wants to touch her but he stops, knowing that she hasn't recognized him yet but he remembers every small detail about her.
"What do you want?" She asked, he can sense the fear in her voice. He felt bad that he can't tell.
He felt someone was here, coming toward them "is someone else at your house right now?"
"No- nobody" she shutters.
"Don't lie to me" he raised.
"I'm not..."
Before he could say anything Luc ran towards Aylana. When Luc's eyes fall on the guy he jumps in front of him with excitement as he knows him.
Aylana tried to grab Luc and saying him "This is a bad guy, Luc" she was repeating her words again and again. Guy rolled his eyes and brushes Luc's soft hair.
Aylana was stunned at first, she knows Luc doesn't go to anyone, except that person he adores, and also she kept quiet because he will shoot her she doesn't even know what he wants.
The guy felt dizziness and abruptly he fell, Aylana look around and found blood everywhere on her tiles "what the heck "
Scramble she moved Luc aside from that guy and went towards that guy, holding her heart that is about to fall.
"Hey, are you okay?" He knows she was dumb, even tho the wound is hurting him badly he still manages to smile because of her.
She came close to him leaving her fear behind "I should call an ambulance" he grabbed her hand before she could grab the landline. He give her shivers she still managed to look as normal as can be.
She looks at him then at her hand where he grabbed her, and she can see the blood was everywhere on her hand.
"You can't call an ambulance or police," he said.
She heard his soft painful voice she got goosebumps and saw his dark brown eyes the only person she can think of
"Zamar?"
She said, the last person she wants to see right now, she moved closer to him, he smelled her sweet fragrance.
"I missed it so much," he thought
He kept quiet she removes his hoodie from his head that was covering his face, and she gasped her assumption was right.
She only wants to cry right now "what the fuck is this?! What happened to you?!" She raised her voice out of frustration.
"Finally you recognized who I am" he chuckled
"Are you for real?! What happened?!" She only wants to kill him for so many God damn reasons.
"It-its a bullet in my torso" he weakly said.
"Wha-what are you saying? Show- show me" she shuttered, got scared.
He shook his head, she did it anyway.
She gasped loudly "Zamar..." He thought, his name never sound this beautiful "what illegal business are you doing?!" She yelled at him with tears in her eyes "I'm calling an ambulance!"
"Aylana..." He made her heart go wild "You can't" he stopped her "you have to do it by yourself"
"What the fuck! I'm an animals doctor, not human" she cried.
"There is not much difference between them and us" he chuckles.
"Zamar you are out of your mind, I can't do it" she grabbed his hand, making his heartbeat skip.
"You can I will guide-" someone started knocking at the door "Shit!" He groaned.
"Listen, Aylana if they ask you anything you have to tell you don't know anything, okay," Zamar said but she was urged to cry
"Who are they? What are you hiding from them?! Please tell me" she inhales sharply
before he can say there was a bang on the door "go, I'm right here" he grabbed his gun tightly.
She holds her tears and went toward the door "it's okay be okay" she said to herself and whipped the tears before Zamar could see.
She kept her hand behind herself so that they can not see the blood on her hand she opened the door, there were two men one man with a gun but Aylana couldn't notice that.
"How can I help you?" She asks, she was hella scared but she kept herself claim.
"Hey I hope we didn't disturb you" she was annoyed at them "we just want to know that by any chance a man came here?" A tall man said with heavy breathing like they were running "he is our friend and he got hurt"
What a lame excuse she thought.
She shooked her head and said "No... No one came here"
"Oh sorry to disturb you," he said with a polite smile but Aylana can see it was an evil smile, he was noticing her head-toe.
Feeling disgusted She slammed the door on their faces and went to Zamar "tell me what to do"

She manages to take the bullet out and to their luck, the bullet didn't go deep into him. She is now taking him to her brother's room, Kashif's room.
Zamar look around the room while she went to Kashif's wardrobe to give him one t-shirt. Zamar looked at Kashif and his photo frame beside the bed "I miss him" he thought.
Aylana takes the first aid kit and takes the needle "don't move it's gonna hurt, you can take a pillow to cover your screams" she said to Zamar, he smiled and nodded and she started to stitch him around his wound "lucky you, I know how to stitch what will you gonna do if I don't know it?"
"I will do it on my own," he said and look away.
Aylana looked at him "he has changed a lot" she said under her breath but he heard it
"Don't we all do?" He looks at her
She scoffs and didn't say anything, she doesn't even want to talk to him. After she stitches his wound completely she went and grab the roller bandage and placed it on his wound and rolled it around his waist.
The bandage was moving along with her fingertips he felt his body was on fire no girl drive him crazy as Aylana do, he want to touch her with everything he have but he kept it to himself because he knows his limits.
She wraps that bandage around his waist and takes it to his shoulder she moves close to him she thought, "could someone have this perfect body?"
Her eyes fell on his scar it was on his broad shoulder "what happened here?" She said with a narrow voice while tracing his scar. He felt goosebumps all over his body.
It was hard for him to breathe, he moved her hair that was falling on her face "a cut" and tucked it behind her ear
"It doesn't look like a cut" she moved a little back to see his face, he has that beautiful brown eyes that she dived into it, she want to touch his face and
she did.
She runs her fingertips along with his jawline, he has a sharp jaw, and her hand went down to touch his neck her fingertips started tracing his collarbone, and she felt her heartbeat was faster than usual. She look up at him, his eyes were staring at her lips.
He was quiet he didn't know what she was doing but he didn't stop her. The heat she was giving to him was a feeling he have never felt, he grab her waist she didn't notice that he look at her serene eyes he wishes this time stops. His eyes slowly move down at her lips, looking so soft and plum.
She realizes how close she was to him, his hand was around her waist and her other hand was on his bare chest, she look away from him and tape the bandage, and backed off.
"You can rest," she said and started walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?" His voice has the hint that he wants her to stay, she understands it.
"To clean the mess you have made," she said and left the room.
She just wants to cry, when she came out it was the sun already raised she went to the door area and look around the blood was every freaking where she got tensed that how much blood he had lost and wondered that's why he looks weak.
She went to her room and grabbed her phone and didn't hesitate once to call her best friend "ria" with the heart and penguin emoji in last.
"J, where you at?" She asked, with a terrified voice.
"Aylana... It's freaking 6 am where should I be?" I sighed "what happened to your voice?" Aylana started sobbing "babe, you okay?"
"Zamar is here" she heard a loud gasp.
"Isn't it good news why are you crying?" Juveria said, Aylana couldn't hold her tears she started crying.
"Juveria can you come here?" She asked.
"Of course, I'm right there give me 10 min," she said, Aylana nodded and hang up.
Aylana went to clean the blood before it's goes completely dry, after completing her task she went to make soup for him.
She almost made soup for him when she heard the door, she look at the gate and it was her bestie, Juveria knows the password of her house.
Juveria rushed toward Aylana and hugged her, Aylana immediately started crying "hey, look at me tell me what happened" she asked.
"Zamar...is here" Aylana began to explain and Juveria hummed "he-he got shot"
"What! Where?"
"Near his torso" Aylana was shocked Juveria believe her in one go, which made her realize her bestie trusted her
"Where is he?" Juveria asked.
"In Kashif's... Room"
"Wait let me check," she went to check him. Aylana cleans her tears look back at the soup and stir the soup "Ana, he is not here!" When she heard Juveria's voice her heart broke into pieces.
"W-what do you mean?" She went to Khasif's room where Zamar was there "he was right here!" She got Panic and pointed toward the bed.
"Bae, look at me" Aylana couldn't breathe she was getting panic attacks, Juveria understood it and made her sit on the bed "I'm bringing a paper bag, just wait here," Juveria said and ran towards the kitchen to get a paper bag.
Aylana took that paper bag, open it and cover her mouth with it and breathe in and out in the bag, she cool down her self looked at Juveria.
"Are you okay?" She asked, Aylana, could not take any more anxiety she let herself cry, Juveria came and sat on her keens in front of her and hold her hand, Aylana's head was down, and couldn't stop crying.
After a while, Juveria said "Hadidi, don't cry tell me what's wrong"
Aylana looks at her best friend with bloodshot puffy eyes "do-do you see that black bag there" she points towards the hallway Juveria nodded "J... It's full... of his blood..." She mewls with pain
Aylana muttered "What if the people who were looking for him will k- kill him this time? What I'm gonna do, Ria?"
"Aylana nothing will happen like that don't think weird stuff!" Juveria scolds her.
"what if they kill him? J.... he was so weak and the amount of blood he has lost is insane... What if he dies... I can't lose him"
She broke down "I already lost Kasif I can't bare another, I can't lose Zamar! I can't lose him..." Juveria look at her with glassy eyes seeing her best friend in this position
"Yeah I know, everything will be fine, I know he will explain to you everything" Juveria knows that Zamar is hiding something serious and that is hurting her best friend a lot.
"When Juveria when?" Aylana rubbed her forehead out of frustration "Why is he doing this to me if he doesn't want me in his life then why can't he just vanish from my side? What illegal business he is doing?"
"Hadidi he must have his reasons..."
"What reasons j, that he is hiding for me?!" Aylana took a sharp breath "you know whatever he does I will support him, no one knows me better than him then why he is doing this?" She ran her fingers through her hair
"J, is he the mafia? I mean it only sounds good in Wattpad books but not in the real-life"
Juveria smiles wildly at her bestie "Ana, stop crying now," she cleans Aylana's tears "you know what I know he has reasons he gonna tell you sooner or later" Aylana looks at her best friend and feels maybe she is right or maybe not.
"But I still hate Zamar," she thought.
"Now I'm gonna make hot chocolate and we will watch something till your mom scolds us, okay?" Aylana smiled at her best friend and nodded "go decide what are we going to watch, I will be in the kitchen" she smiled and went towards the kitchen.
Aylana made her way to the hall after cleaning his late brother's room "I wish you were here" she whispered looking at his picture with Zamar when her eyes fall on Zamar's side of the picture "I hate you"
"Hadidi, what to do with soup?" Juveria shouted from the kitchen.
Aylana snapped, said "throw it" and made her way to her room.
Little did she know he was standing there and eavesdropping on their entire conversation
