Hina actually ended up staying the night, meaning Sanzu had to sleep by himself. It was about 3 a.m. and you couldn't sleep too well. Ami and the pregnancy on your mind. You quietly got out of the bed, careful not to wake Hina who slept right next to you. You opened your door and crept over to the kitchen to get something to drink, maybe even a snack.
You were rummaging through the fridge, when suddenly you felt a presence in the room. You stood up to see Sanzu standing at the island, his forearms resting on it as he stared at you. You ignored him, grabbing some random juice from the refrigerator and taking out a glass to pour the juice into. "Why are you ignoring me." Sanzu spoke up, "Why are you watching me." You retorted back, Sanzu stood up and walked over to you.
"Because something feels.... off." He said, his arms slithering around you from behind to give you a hug, but you escaped from his grasp, closing the juice and placing it back into the refrigerator. You caught sight of the leftover food Ami had cooked, you eyed it which Sanzu took note of. "Is this because of Ami?" He sighed, resting a hand on the refrigerator as he stared at you once again.
You closed the door, taking a sip of your drink but Sanzu snatched it from you. "The hell Haru." You whisper-shouted, not wanting to be loud since Hina was asleep. "No, what's going on? This has to be some shit about Ami." He placed the drink behind him on the counter, blocking the way so you couldn't get it. "How would you feel if I was hanging out with a male coworker, cooking him meals and drinking with him?" You blurted out, Sanzu's eyebrows furrowing.
"You can't be serious, so you're allowed to be friends with that one male coworker you work with but I can't be friends with a female coworker from my job?" He fired back, you were left speechless. Was he right? Were you being unfair? "I don't cook meals for him, and at least i'm not touchy with him and drink with him every night. And we don't hangout outside of work, at least not alone." You did have a point, the only contact you really had with Kazutora outside of work was texting with him, you've never invited him over to hangout alone and drink.
"It's not a big deal Y/n, I don't get why you're being so jealous." He rubbed his forehead in frustration. "Just like how I didn't get why you were being jealous when I fucked with Kokonoi? Guess the roles have reversed." You didn't even mean to bring him up, but you were getting upset. "So we're bringing that ass hat up now? If you still think about him why don't you go visit him in prison, i'm sure he wouldn't mind dating you from behind bars." He scoffed.
You had enough, you walked behind him to where your juice was, finishing it up and putting it in the sink. "Huh? Stop ignoring me Y/n, or do you actually still think about him?" He got closer to your face. "I don't, but too bad things between us didn't work out, I wonder if he would've been a better fit of a father for this child." You go to walk past him but he grabs your hand.
"What do you mean this child..?" He questions, a confused look on his face. "I'm pregnant you asshole, you got me pregnant. I was gonna tell you earlier but you were too busy with fucking Ami, I wanted it to be a nice surprise..." He releases your hand from his grasp, his eyes wide. "No way...." Is all he could say. "Surprise I guess, i'm going back to bed." You walked back to your room, Sanzu just staring at your back, still unable to utter another word.
You climbed back into bed, facing away from Hina. You felt her shuffling on the other side as she turned over to face your back, her arm wrapping around you as if to give you a hug. "I'm sorry I woke you." You apologized. "No no, he was the loud one not you." You guessed she heard everything- or almost everything, which was why she was now holding onto you to try and comfort you.
You woke up the next morning to see Hina just waking up as well. "Good morning!" She gave you a cheerful smile. "Good morning." You smiled back, checking the time and stretching. "I have to go meet up with Inui soon, but I can buy both of us breakfast." You offer and she nods. You quickly get dressed and walk out of your room with her, heading to the front door. You didn't see Sanzu anywhere, you'd thought he would've been in his room sleeping since he had the day off, but you noticed his keys were missing. "Okay so i'll drive us to get breakfast, you pay, then i'll drop you off to Inui and head home." Hina re-stated the plan, you agreed and headed down to her car.
You both grabbed breakfast quick, you payed as a thanks to Hina for helping you through everything that's happened in the past day. She then dropped you off at the prison Kokonoi was in, Inui was already there, leaning against his motorcycle as he waited for you. "Good luck, let me know what happens." Hina gives you a thumbs up and you give her one back. "Definitely, hopefully this goes well." You exit her car, waving her goodbye and walking over to Inui.
"Oh good you're here, are you ready?" He asked, he seemed a bit nervous but that was understandable. "Are you ready?" You asked, since clearly he was the one who needed to be asked and he nodded. "Just once more, this has to be the last time I see him." You nod, and motion for him to start heading inside.
You went through the same process you went through before when you came here with Sanzu a while back. You and Inui sitting in the same familiar seats you and Sanzu had sat in. "Shit..." Inui's leg bounces. "Hm? It'll be fine." You try to reassure, but you weren't exactly sure what to do as you have never been in a situation like this before. "No just, my hair is long... what if he gets reminded of her even more than he already did whenever he'd look at me..."
"It's fine, you said this is the last time you'd see him right? We don't even have to stay for long, and I won't let you back out of this because I know you'd end up regretting it." You rest your cheek in your palm, drawing circles on the table with your index finger as you waited for Kokonoi to come out. "I'm glad you're here Y/n, I wouldn't have been able to do this by myself." He gave you a warm smile, you returned it and were about to respond back but you heard the jingle of keys.
You looked up to see a handcuffed Kokonoi, bags under his eyes and a few scratches on his face. He definitely appeared to be in worse shape than when you last saw him. The guard pushed him in, his eyes roaming over to you, a small smirk on his face. But when he looked over at Inui next to you, his eyes widened as if he just saw a ghost.
"Sit down Kokonoi, you've got an old friend here." You tell him, his eyes traveling back to you. "What're you doing here?" He questions. "Koko...." Inui speaks, looking at the table below. "Didn't think i'd see you again, Inupi." Kokonoi said, a stoic expression on his face. "I just wanted to see you one last time, to know how you've been up until you've arrived in prison." Inui responds. Kokonoi sighs, finally sitting down.
"Wish you could've seen me in a better state than this." Kokonoi scoffs. "Yeah what happened to you, did you get into a fight?" You examine the scratches on his face. "Prison's a dangerous place doll, of course i'm gonna get these dumb meaningless cuts and scratches once in a while." He told you, almost as if he was avoiding what actually happened.
"Right... well I think i'll give you guys just a bit of alone time to talk some things out." You stand, heading over to leave the visitation area. You went to go get air outside. You checked your phone but you had no new messages from Sanzu. You sighed, scrolling through your phone for a while until you thought it was okay to go back.
After some time, you eventually went back. It actually seemed to be going pretty well. They were smiling and talking, and once Inui saw you he said something to Kokonoi who looked back at you now as well. A few seconds later Inui stood, making his way over to you. "Hey Koko." Inui called back to him, Kokonoi turning his head. "You still keeping that promise? Even in this place? I know you are somehow." Inui gave him a sad smile.
"Hm? Oh that, it's been so long that i've forgotten about it." Kokonoi tried to assure him but Inui only looked down and chuckled. "Liar." He said under his breath but you could still hear. "Hey Y/n i'll wait outside for you." He told you and you nodded, watching him walk away.
"Hey Y/n." You heard Kokonoi's voice, your attention directing towards him. "How're you and that pink haired bastard." He smiled and you shrugged. "We're fine." You lied a little, his eyes wandering down to your finger with the promise ring. "He proposed? Don't tell me you have a kid on the way too." He joked and you only smiled.
"It's only a promise ring, and actually we do." At that his eyes widened, his mouth hung open too. You put your pointer finger to your lips, doing a shushing motion before turning to walk out. "Goodbye Kokonoi, be safe." You call back. He only watched as you left, alone once again.
You joined Inui outside and saw him taking out a helmet. "Here." He tossed it to you, you now realized he was your ride back home. "I've never ridden a motorcycle before." You told him as you put the helmet on, he only smiled. "Better hold on tight then."
