A fork in the road

there was a fork in the road that popped my tire. I checked for a spare but it was no longer there. The cell service was finicky, I was not in the city.The sun was setting. That’s when my head began to thump as my heart began to hurumph but neither one were beating to the same tune. Which should I listen to? My heart sang for glorious days under the canopy of the forests trees while living under a sweet cool breeze. The brain said to stay away! That I should walk to the city to create a beginning. Money, family, and tradition. My body hurt with these conflicting thoughts and laid paralyzed in the dirt. Not a single limb responded to my desire but help soon arrived derived by two glowing headlights.
