(A month later)
he didn't understand why tonight was so different but for some reason, taehyung could not sleep.
the betrayer found himself curled up tight as he tried to force himself to sleep, but it was like his mind refused to rest.
he couldn't help but to think about his lover condition at the nursing home.
taehyung considered going to talk to hoseok but it was the early hours of the morning and he didn't want to burden the male. hoseok finally returned from los angeles after four years.
he probably had more important things like handling his own unknown start up business, and taehyung didn't need anyone to babied him as jimin had claimed on more than one occasion.
it was all so overwhelming. as taehyung looked up at the ceiling he realised how much the dark seemed to be encasing him and he didn't like it anymore.
he quickly scrambled over to his dressing table but then remembered he had smashed the enchanted lamp gifted by mommy yejin. he had no time to replace a new lamp.
oh no. oh, no, no. he needs the light because it saves him and nothing could hide from him in the shadows.
taehyung rolled back over and squeezed his eyes shut with determination, but he still wasn't able to relax.
he was suddenly aware that his whole body was trembling, but he wasn't cold. he tried to clear his mind, but that has always proved to be a difficult feat for him.
'darling, why? why did you do it? i trusted you. why did you betrayed me?'
'darling, my baby boy taetae, look into my eyes and tell me you loved me wholeheartedly during our four years together?"
'taetae, d-darling, i'm b-bleeding out, h-help me...'
a pain appeared on his chest. it felt a little tight, and each breath started to feel like it was struggling to break free. another pain appeared in his arm, like pinpricks.
all of these sensations were not normal. the back of his head also felt like it was being squeezed between two hands. he clenched his fist and hits his own head hoping to ease the pain.
he hated it all and he wanted it to stop but he didn't know how. his breathing felt like it was becoming more and more restricted until....
until he eventually jolted himself up in his seat and gasped in and out with desperate breaths.
"tae--"
"taehyung! what's wrong? you okay? take a deep breath in."
he shakily paced left and right as he tried to steady his breathing and the rhythm of his heart. oh, they've arrived 'euphoria nursing home'
the largest private nursing home located in the remote island, far from any centre of population or society.
the home offers lovely views,
overlooking the lake, surrounded by trees. it has a beautiful garden for residents to enjoy when the sun is shining. the isolated room is designed with victorian country, along with Sky TV facility.
every medical necessities is there. from nursing aide and skilled surgeons who are available twenty-four hours a day.
perfect. or maybe not. he closed his eyes and exhaled deeply before taking in another deep breath.
the pains he'd previously been experiencing seemed to have numbed, but he was still frightened by what he had just experienced.
he has an ongoing horrible nightmares for the past one month, and hoseok tells him to visits a doctor in which he refused. it's just a waste of time anyway.
once satisfied he had his breathing under control after a few more moments of calculated breathing and pacing, hoseok send him to the receptionist area and introduce his role to everyone.
only a few in house nurses knew who he was. the trainees and caregivers were mostly foreigners so they need not know his identity.
soon, he found himself stood outside his lover door. he figured the male must be resting now.
taehyung had his hand raised to the door ready to knock. eh, why should I knock?
but then he realised he was struggling to breathe again and he had to sudden urge to just runaway.
he bolted down the corridor until he reached the pantry. his throat suddenly felt so dry.
he remembered how jungkook saying how important it was to drink enough water and although he doubted it would be much help, he didn't know what else to do.
"darling, you need to drink more to keep yourself dehydrated y'know. you're making me worried everytime you passed out, some more when i'm not with you."
"aww. gugu gaga gugu, so sweet! stay close to me forever then. that way you can keep reminding me to drink. if not then i don't wanna drink any."
"see.... you are making me more restless, tae. i care for your health, so please, take good care of yourself. i'm afraid i won't be there someday to look after you."
after steadying his breath, taehyung grabbed a glass with trembling hands and proceeded to fill it with water. as he sipped at the cool liquid, he felt a little better but it didn't at all put a stop to his symptoms.
if jungkook were by his side, he wouldn't be experiencing any of these problems at all. he knows exactly what was wrong with himself and he don't need to see a doctor, because even the doctor unable to cure him.
taehyung walked back to jungkook's room. slowly he unlock the door knob with one of the keys given by sora, the receptionist earlier.
it was dark inside and he called out for his boyfriend. no, ex boyfriend it is. "jungkook?"
he cautiously called as he slowly crept through the cold darkened room with his hand roaming on the wall to find the switch board.
just then, the door were harshly slammed shut closed and a figure appeared out of the darkness, startling taehyung nearly causing him close to falling.
taehyung's eyes grew wide when he felt a warm hands around his waist from the back. it almost came out as a squeak when his body was turned and pushed against the wall.
the lights came on and taehyung was shocked with the sight before him. arms caging him, his fingers tracing patterns on taehyung's neck down to his shoulder.
the touch was like spark to kindling.
taehyung couldn't remember when was the last time his entire self had felt like this.
love set on fire. bodies that couldn't be close enough. his lips very closed on jungkook's as the male touches teasing his skin. taehyung wanted to beg for a kiss before he started whispering,
"h-hey it's me, taehyung." he wasn't sure what should he say. reassurance, maybe? a nervous feeling quickly pooled in his gut.
"n-not too close please. s-social distancing, jungkook-"
"who.. jung.... kook? heheheh! he's not here.... not.. in this.. room...."
